Amazing!

This resort was perfect i believe. From start to finish. Every single staff member was so nice and so helpful it makes you feel very welcomed. The rooms could have been a little more comfortable maybe but even that fits the theme of the resort so it was fine for me and my Fiance. i highly recommend the shows at 9:30 the staff that runs it are amazing and friendly! most of the bars were great very easy to get a drink no long wait either. every morning you would see the crew cleaning up the sea weed along the beach which was great to see. honestly this hotel is one of the best and for the price it truly is a steal! my favorite part was every morning we had Howler monkeys on our balcony and it was a sick experience to be so close to them. i loved it and will def be back in the future.

A little disappointed

We just came back from a week at Iberostar Tucan after 8 days. I am a little disappointed because we had problems with the room - safe not working, hair dryer went out twice, toilet running after it was :"fixed." And a big drawback for my husband was they have no dock so you have to walk a ways in the ocean out to a boat to get in and get out. On the plus side, the staff were great - very friendly and helpful. Check in was simple as well as checkout. No issues with transportation. The room was well stocked and kept very clean. The food was good except in the Mediterean restaurant. We have been to other Iberostar locations which I liked better and plan to use them again. Overall the value for the trip was good.

Good Property, but - Ugh, The Food

The property is quite unique. There are lots of different animals roaming the property and they're very enjoyable. There is a jungle atmosphere in the middle with waterfalls and monkeys traveling through the trees; something you don't get to see at other resorts. However, the food is bad! I know, I know. We've seen people complain about the food at some resorts and think, "how bad can it be? It can't be *that* bad". Usually we're right, we go anyway and find the food to be quite good. But the food here is just.not.good. Much of it is just flavorless, seriously bland. What's worse is that it's the Mexican food that is the worst. It's as if they forgot where the spice (or even salt) jar is. To make matters worse, much of the food is cold; and it's not supposed to be cold! For example, at breakfast the cooks will pre-cook certain items (like sausage) and then place them in trays that have no direct or ambient heat source. It doesn't take long for food to reach room temperature. Cold sausage at breakfast is not a good way to start the day. Many items are pre-cooked (maybe they aren't even cooked on site) and then re-warmed on the grill. We received many items right off the grill that were COLD - and had zero flavor. On the plus side their specialty restaurants didn't have this problem; only the pool side and general buffets. Service was very slow and many times the items delivered were not what we asked for. There was a language barrier, but we are not the first English speaking people to visit, to be sure. More than once we had to send items back because it wasn't what we wanted. We looked for, but never found, a working ice machine. We met many people that have been to the resort on multiple occasions and even they were surprised at the low quality of the food and the general maintenance of the property. We would not recommend this resort. And we will not be going back.

That’s a lot of seaweed

Great place for a family vacation. Lots of mosquitos. Bring your OFF. Great selection of restaurants and an amazing ever changing buffet. Needs more tv channels in English for my taste as well as a larger tv. AC could be allowed to go to a lower temperature. Housekeeping was excellent. Lots and lots of European families go here. So maybe more accommodations for them as well.
