Great for Families

The transport was a bit of a pain when we just wanted to get there but once we got there, it was beautiful! We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire resort. The wildlife was awesome! The restaurants were good considering it's all inclusive as well as having to accommodate people all over the world. I loved the breakfast buffets and the Mediterranean restaurant. The reservations process for the sit down meals was frustrating. We would go each morning as soon as the desk opened and even tried online and all the later meal times were taken. All of the wait staff were great. Very friendly and pretty good at English. Loved the day time activities like Salsa dancing and live band. As three adults going without children, we wished there was more to do after dinner. The show was cute but not something we wanted to do each night. We wished the swim up bar was open later. The only bars open after dinner were all at the front of the resorts (the lobby and the sports bar). Both not really ideal for 3 women that just wanted to dance. I would love to bring my kids to the resort because there seemed to be a ton for the kids to do. With that, I don't think I would go again for a "Girls Trip".

The resort was very clean. It was fun to see all the different animals on the grounds. We wish the bar options were more fun and people didn’t try to sell us stuff on the beach. Some more daily activities for adults would be nice as well. The mosquitoes are horrible and we had to buy bug spray which didn’t help. Overall a decent resort.

Iberostar Tucan May 2018

There is nothing bad I can write or say about this hotel, the staff and the grounds. This place is truly a slice of heaven on earth and this was our second time there and our 11th visit to an Iberostar hotel. The only downside or negative was the seaweed, it was heavy and present all week. I did not even get in the beach water but one day the rest of my 6 day stay was spent and the beautiful pool. Sad though because we picked this resort strictly for the beach. We were here in 2011 and it was the bluest most gorgeous water with white sand for miles. This is not the hotel's fault nor the staff or in anyone's control. I would go back to Mexico again but I would make sure there is no seaweed, I watched the webcams for several months hoping it would clear but it did not. The travel guide told us it was the worst they have had and that it was also rainier than normal which we experienced two days of this probably due to Trop storm Alberto. I do want to give props to Amstar and its employees, especially Richie or Ricardo. This was the first time out of 11 trips to Mexico that we used Cheap Caribbean and Amstar and I must say I would go back to both again, it was a pleasant experience and very well organized. I really hope the seaweed will go away because the Riviera Maya is so beautiful and peaceful and relaxing and without the beach its more like going to somewhere in the States. So props to Amstar -the tour and travel guide and Cheap Caribbean for a well priced trip. PS I hope the hard sell on 5th Ave can be dealt with from the Mexican government, it was not enjoyable to go there and be hounded to buy something all night. I understand they have to make a living but trust me if I want to buy something I will.

The Municipalidad of Solidaridad thanks you for your understanding and support of this worthwhile endeavor. Thank you and enjoy your visit.
