Beautiful Beach, Great Value

Hotel Room: Compared to previous all inclusive resorts that we've been to these rooms were definitely a step down. Upon first seeing our room, (building close to the lobby) we were not impressed, outdated and small. We went back to the front desk to request to see another room closer to the beach. We ended up checking out a room closer to the beach for an extra $30 a night but there were hardly any upgrades. We decided to stay with what we had. Ultimately we were happy with our location in the end and glad that we didn't spend the extra $200 for an upgrade. Beach: One of the most beautiful beaches that we've visited. Beach is huge with beautiful white sand and stretches for miles. You can chose to walk north towards Playa Del Carmen or South where there are no hotels. We didn't spend any time at the pool for the beach was too beautiful to miss out on. Dining: Food was average, many of our lunches consisted of burgers and hot dogs. Buffets didn't offer much of a variety from day to day. We were only able to make reservations for specialty restaurants for 3 nights for our 7 day stay. We chose the Mediterranean, Italian and the Steakhouse restaurants. The Italian and Steakhouse were our favorites. Compared to other resorts the food was average/ slightly above what we're accustomed to. Overall: Resort was beautiful and the jungle in the middle really added a cool experience. Was able to witness a variety of wildlife, the Howler Monkeys were very fun to watch. For the price you really can't go wrong with this resort.

Worst trip ever

Folks, I want to start out by telling you do not spend your hard earned money going to this resort. My wife and I have taken many vacations through Cheap Caribbean with great satisfaction until this one. We've been to Cancun two times before and always chose the all-inclusive at Now Sapphire Resort which is top of the line on everything in our opinion. Unfortunately, we couldn't book it this time because they were all booked up. To make this as short as possible, I'm going to quickly run through the problems. The service was the worst we've ever had. We never knew what buffet was open to eat so we spent a lot of time and energy walking around the resort to find one. All of the specialty resturants were booked up so we couldn't get reservations for one. What? I thought all- inclusive meant all you can eat as well. They should have extended their reservation list out to accomodate those who did prefer that. The beds were very uncomfortable. The waiters and waitresses in the buffets were lazy and when you asked for something like a glass of milk, they acted like it was really putting them to a lot of trouble. They didn't even serve coffee most of the time. The food was mediocre. I found that they didn't have much in the choice of vegetables, but had an abundance of meats and cheeses. The concierce service highly irritated us calling 2 times a day and beating on our door until I had to give them a mouthful. Overall, it was a terrible vacation and if I had it to do over again, I would have kept my money and not went.
