Villa-style buildings set amidst fringy palms. Toe-loving sand hugged by turquoise waves. How's that for a vision of Beach Eden? Thought so. Other delicious amenities include unlimited grub and ever-flowing adult beverages. Oceans of water sports and entertainment out the wazoo. Plus, volleyball, archery or tennis, to name a mere few. It's a beachapalooza just waiting to happen. When might we expect you?

This place is beautiful. It's a great deal. However, I wouldn't go back because of the food. The food was not good at all. The buffet tongs were dirty and people's sleeves were getting in the food. We were looking forward to the steakhouse which also wasn't very good. Overall we had a great experience, the beach and pools were amazing. The service was fantastic and there was nothing additional we had to pay for while we were there.
Very few workers spoke English. Very hard to communicate.
Very heavy seaweed at the beach for 4 days,
Supposed to get four specility dining, could only get two.

My experience in punta cana
The resort was beautiful and big. Upon arrival, we were nicely greeted by resort employees. We met with Cecilio who was very helpful! We upgraded to the jr. suites where we really enjoyed the privacy and comfort of our room. However, some amenities were missing. Although it took some time after we addressed them they did answer most of our requests.
The food was definitely a 5 star. I really enjoyed it and it was delicious. They had a lot of variety. The only problem is the times are really strict and you might have to walk from one side of the resort to another which can be a pretty long walk.
The pool was fine but there was no pool bar which was ok. They had an awesome employee Maria who would bring you drinks near poolside. During my stay, only one pool was in service. The other was under construction. They promised that it would be working by the third day but it still wasn't open even after we left.
Overall I had a good experience because most of the employees were great. We did discuss a couple things such as miscommunication. We couldn't make reservations to Oriental Restaurant and we were getting mixed answer. Someone said there was a fumigation happening, someone else said it was booked and someone else said that it was too late. The inconsistency made us a little wary and decreased our trust on the hotel.
While I don't think we'll return to Iberostar Punta Cana, we definitely will try to check out other Iberostar locations.

Does the Iberostar in Punta Cana have wi-fi?10 answers
6 years, 84 months ago
toni
The resort does have Wireless Hi-Speed Internet Access at an extra charge.
MariaCC
It does not have wi-fi that I know of. My phone never linked up to any networks at all (didn't even find a network). However they do have internet that you can use on the Dominica side (short walking distance)...its $10USD per hour of usage. But the front desk did inform me that you can break up the usage time (5 min here...10 min there...etc.)
SP8787
Yes but there is a charge! Boo!
uscgirl
only if you want to pay for it, and only in the lobby. This place is huge, so you can't just go downstairs, you have to walk ALOT. I think it was $13 per day for wifi. I don't recomment this hotel if that is important to you.
Sarahbear
They do offer wi-fi, but it's not cheap. If I remember correctly, it was something like $40 for the week or something.
melissa0712
They have wi-fi in the pool and bar areas, but there is a fee for it.
KathyV
Very weak signal and in limited locations. It's about $10 per hour but $13 for a day.
NJColombia
Yes, for a fee. My friend paid $25 for 5 days.
BigGroup
yes, there is wifi everywhere on the resort except the beach. there is a fee though for the wi-fi. they offer packages from 1 hour for 3.00 to 5 days for 25.00
krummy26
Yes. We had wifi in the lobby, by the pool, and in our room. Free.

Iberostar Punta Cana pool renovations3 answers
Beginning August 24, 2012, Iberostar Punta Cana will begin renovation work in their swimming pool area, buffet and beach restaurants. Will this renovation be finished by Nov. 4th? The resort states that the work is expected to be completed by October 31, 2012. We would hate to arrive and find the pool empty. Is there any way to check on the progress of the renovation as November nears?
6 years, 78 months ago
Nan
The most up to date information the we have regarding renovations at the resort is exactly as you have stated. For the most recent renovation information and to ensure that renovations are on schedule for your arrival, we suggest contacting the resort directly as they will be the best source of information.
KateHCC
It was finished at the pool and buffet areas, but there was ongoing construction in other areas, but not bothersome.

I guess I would have to answer yes, but the rooms and other areas are in need of renovations.

Is golf included at the resort?3 answers
Are green frees or cart fees included with your stay?
5 years, 66 months ago
KB
Upon calling the resort (809) 221-6500, we were advised that there is an additional charge for golf. For specific pricing, we do suggest contacting the resort directly as they would be best to assist you. The resort's website (https://www.iberostar.com/en/hotels/punta-cana/iberostar-punta-cana) does offer a 'Live Chat' with an Iberostar representative. This feature can be found at the bottom right of their website.
MariaCC
Golf was not included and VERY pricey.

No they are not. golfing is considered an excursion at the resort and the green fees were over 100.00

swim up bar?5 answers
Does This resort or the sister resort have a swim up bar or just pool adjacent?
5 years, 64 months ago
albany, ny
The bar is adjacent to the pool at the Iberostar Punta Cana and at the sister resort Iberostar Dominicana. Please contact the resort directly for more information at www.iberostar.com.
LisaCC
The swim up bar was at the Iberostar Baravo, the *****, we never attempted to use it, we were afraid they would kick us out because we were staying at a lower quality Iberostar.
BigGroup
Bar was not swim up but was located in between the 2 pools less than 10 feet from pool. 2 bars right next to beach.
shankhm
There is more then one pool.
One pool has a swim up bar and the other does not but there is a bar pool side
Starr1967
No swim up bar and one bar at the pool. Was totally disappointed

Can we email the hotel prior to arrival?3 answers
We're spending our honeymoon at the Iberostar Punta Cana in a few months, and we had seen some reviews that said to email them in advance to let them know it's our honeymoon. The email used to be on the Iberostar website, but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know what it was (or who we can contact directly at the resort)? Thanks!

If you wish to make a request with the resort (including advising of your honeymoon plans) you may call one of our Reservations Services agents who will be happy to notify the resort on your behalf! Simply call us at 1.800.915.2322. Our offices are open from 5:00 AM to 3:00 AM EST daily for your convenience.

We just got back from our vacation there. I called ahead to get a room upgrade. I suggest calling the hotel directly and speaking to Fuesto at the front desk. He is amazing!
Sef7399
I would call them if I were you and get someone who speaks English as there are very few there that do. Was put out with trying to
communicate with them as most do not know much English. When
you get there you will be assigned a Guest Service person, so you can tell them when you get there. Usually that person speaks pretty good
English.

Accommodations and Access2 answers
My friends and I are planning a graduation trip in May 2015. There are 4 of us and we would prefer to stay in the same suite. What is the limit on persons per room?
Also, what are the details regarding the All Inclusive access if we are allowed to stay in the same room? Will we all be provided our own wristbands for access, etc.
Thank you for this additional information.

The maximum occupancy for this resort is 3 adults in each room, so, you would need to be in 2 rooms.
The all inclusive features are available to all guests in the room.

Hello, This resort does not allow access to the sister properties

They allow you to only visit like-resorts, so the Dominicana only. If you go to the Bavaro or Grand Bavaro, then you can visit any. You can visit downward, but not upward in class of hotel.
BeachBumFamily
All three resorts are side by side and you can look around the Grand, but you can't stay on their beach or eat there. It is totally for the
Grand clients. It is beautiful and so much better than the other
two.

Night life2 answers
Is there any entertainment at night? Shopping nearby? What time do the bars close at night?
2 years, 24 months ago
Boston, MA
They have shows at night and the bars there are open till very late or early morning. As far as shopping, I never went off the resort unless
on a tour of some kind as they tell you not to go off by yourself. There
is shops in the resort and a few down the beach you can walk to. I do
think the hotel shuttle will take you to a safe shopping center and pick
you up later, but I didn't do that.
Gardencity46
As with all Iberostar resorts there is a nightly show, discos, etc. The resort does have a shopping center that has about 6 or so different shops located on the property. It also has a casino located on the property. I believe there is a bar and restaurant open almost all night long at the resort.

iberostar2 answers
what is the difference between the punta cana iberostar and the Dominican Iberostar besides the price
1 year, 21 months ago
Durham, ME
Differences would be in the location (one is closer to the airport), as well as differences in amenities. Iberostars tend to try to keep similarities across their brand due, so the differences tend to be smaller.
JeannieCC
The 2 resorts are connected to each other so the only difference is the decor and which set of apartment style sleeping quarters you are in. They share the same pools, restaurants, casino, shops, etc.

TimCC
Yes, there is seaweed. Swept daily but it just comes in from the coral reefs.
sailorbill45
Yes but not everyday
SCSOLOTRAVELER
There was quite a bit of seaweed when initially getting into the water. However, this may have been storm related. They did rake the beach each morning.
Gretta23
We just returned from Iberostar Punta Cana. There is literally almost no seaweed at the beach. I believe that is due to a barrier reef off shore that prevents the seaweed from coming ashore.
