Great diversity

Iberostar in playa Mita is a place we'd definitely go back to. Wonderful walking beach, ocean was surprisingly warm. We've been to lots of all inclusive resorts & this place has the best food at all the dining options. Wish there was more than one pool, it did get pretty crowded & loud at times. Great service & very friendly staff!

Great long weekend getaway!

We had a great time at Iberostar, the hotel was clean and well maintained. All the staff were friendly and very hard working. We felt we were treated very well and had great service. The beach was very nice especially being on the Pacific Ocean. The water was warm and sand was smooth, a few more waves then on the Caribbean side of Mexico but we enjoyed it! The mountains are wonderful to look at. We felt like the food was pretty good had a lot of options for different tastes. Our only gripe was that you had to have reservations every night at the restaurants besides the buffet and when making reservations it was always tight like they were fully booked and couldn’t get us in until 9 pm but then when we would come there are 7 tables seated with many open tables at the restaurant. We have met many guests who said they could not get in to dinners because they were told that the restaurants were booked, however they were never full. So if you are staying here try and make all your reservations ahead of time. There are only four restaurants and some guests who stayed for an extended period of time stated that they were a bit bored. The liquor at the resort was not the best, the best vodka they had was stoli and Jose for tequila. Overall we had a great time!

So beautiful

Great resort with awesome service . Room was extremely clean and AC worked perfect . Maids did a fantastic job and it was always nice to get back at night to our beds turned down and flowers on the bed ! We loved siting on out balcony in the morning sipping coffee and watching the day break . The grounds are well kept with landscaping personal constantly manicuring the plants and trees . Pool is large with plenty of chairs . We love that this resort does not let guests stake claim to chairs by placing towels on them and leaving them there all day . This goes for the beach as well . Our biggest gripe is the lifeguards posting red and yellow flags even when the waves are 2 ft and breaking in waste deep water. Because of this we could never use the kayaks for the entire time we were there. However the beach is beautiful and goes on for miles . We loved walking the beach down to litibu grill beach restaurant and getting away to a peaceful adult night of margaritas and hammocks . The hotel lobby is stunning and all the bars really did a great job keeping us hydrated ! I can't say enough good things about this resort we loved it so much that when we left a bit of depression set in . Go stay enjoy iberastar playa mita . Life is short go live and love Mexico it's a magical place .

Decent beach getaway

All the staff members we encountered at the resort were very friendly and helpful. I'd say their service, along with our beachfront terrace, was the best part of our stay. Even though our room had a fantastic view, it was rather damp and musty smelling. When we got home and washed our vacation clothes, they still had a lingering musty smell. The food at the resort always had good presentation, but I was not too impressed with the actual flavors. I noticed a few cosmetic blemishes at the resort, such as some tiles missing off the swim-up bar and small things like that. It just seemed like a little more sprucing up in certain areas was needed. It also would have been nice if the resort (and some parents) had been more strict about keeping children away from the more adult-type areas, such as the swim-up bar (where signs about this were clearly posted) and the lobby bar in the later hours of the evening. I did not particularly like being splashed by children sitting at/playing right by the swim-up bar while I'm trying to enjoy a Pina Colada. Nor did my husband and I enjoy having children running all over the lobby bar while the live band was performing into the later hours of the evening. I suppose if we were bothered by those types of things, we should have booked at an adults-only resort. We likely will in the future. Overall, I found the feel of the resort too Americanized, so to speak. I love hearing Latin music throughout the resort, in the pool, and during the nightly entertainment. There was not much of that going on at all. Instead we heard music that was dominated by American bands and artists. I found it disappointing and not authentic. I know I'm complaining a lot, it's just that my husband and I have been on other comparably priced all-inclusive vacations in Mexico and Dominican Republic and have enjoyed them more.
