Short Vacation at Iberosar Playa Mita

Affordable vacation with very good staff who are willing to make your stay enjoyable. I was slightly disappointed that I was unable to experience their Japanese Restaurant. Please make sure to pack your bug and mosquito repellants with you.

Sister trip

Another wonderful trip! The resort is beautiful, we upgraded to an ocean view room and used our terrace quite a bit (it was lovely to sit and watch the waves roll in). The room was clean and comfortable and everything worked as expected. Also very quiet...we never heard our neighbors. The first day there we were at the beach, which is nice but the surf is pretty rough. If you're not into surfing (body or otherwise) I recommend the swim up bar pool. Lots of water activities (aerobics, volleyball, games, etc.) Rogelio and Adrian are fabulous bartenders, and even though some days were really busy they remembered what we were drinking. The only negative is they allow children in the area and on our last full day there they had to call security several times to shoo the kids away from the bar. (who in their right mind would bring young children to a pool bar when the kid's area is 100 yds. away?) The food choices range from average to excellent. We ate at the buffet for breakfast (good standard fare with lots of choices) and the snack bar or buffet for lunch. There are 4 themed restaurants for dinner (make reservations as soon as you arrive if you want a table). I don't recommend the French restaurant; the fish was old and overcooked. Also disappointing was the Mexican restaurant; typical americanized choices versus authentic mexican food. The Japanese restaurant was really good, plus you got a show with your meal! Also, the Steak House was excellent. We ordered the rib-eye steaks and they were cooked to perfection (although 1 would have fed 2 or 3 people). Overall, a nice and relaxing trip!

Very nice!

This is a beautiful resort and the staff works hard to make you feel comfortable and welcome! The food is very good and the drinks are good too. Drink service can be slow at times, but the staff works very hard! The breakfast buffet is great and there are many choices. The only thing I can complain about is having to make reservations for dinner at the À la carte restaurants, My favorite was the Japanese restaurant. But the Mexican restaurant was a close second and the food was incredible! The resort itself is quite a ways from the airport and the ground transportation is a little expensive both ways. From the hotel, it is 750 pesos to get to the airport. With all of that said, I would recommend this resort.

Amazing

My boyfriend and I stayed at Iberostar Playa Mita for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. I booked through Cheap Caribbean and everything couldn't have been easier. Make sure you buy the transportation from the airport because the resort is about 40 minutes from the airport and a taxi would be much more expensive than adding on the shuttle at checkout. We got there a few hours early for check in and our room wasn't ready yet but the receptionist gave us our wristbands so we went to enjoy the lobby bar until our room was ready. The drinks are fantastic, they have top shelf liquor if you ask for it. Tip your bartenders and they will take care of you. Using USD for tips seemed pretty standard, if you have pesos that's fine too. The food was phenomenal, we actually ate at the buffet the entire trip. They have a huge selection and variety of foods, there was maybe one thing there that I did not enjoy. The pool was huge and perfect temperature, the swim up bar was so much fun and the bartenders there are super on top of things. I ordered mojitos mostly, but the margaritas, daiquiris, Miami Vices, and tequila sunrises were also great. My boyfriend ordered shots of Don Julio, but you have to ask specifically for the better quality liquors. Our room was to die for. The receptionist upgraded us to a partial ocean view at no charge and we couldn't have been more satisfied. They stock the mini bar everyday, which includes huge bottles of water, beers, and sodas. The room was very clean, the only issue was there were tiny bugs crawling around after we brought food into the room, so we just stopped bringing up food. There is 24 hour room service included with the stay; they have a large menu available so don't worry about going hungry at this resort. The beach was very clean and the sand is so soft. There is a bar right next to the beach so accessing drinks is a breeze, that bar also has snacks available including burgers and fries and things of that nature. When you walk down to the beach, there are a couple vendors that hang around there, they will ask you to buy something and if you just tell them no or ignore them they will leave you alone. The staff was beyond friendly and everyone seemingly loved being there and entertaining the guests. There are constantly activities going on and everything is very fun, I highly recommend doing bingo, water aerobics, and the Disco bar. The disco show at night was incredibly fun. Oh, and the resort has at least 5 cats roaming around that I saw. They're all pretty friendly and just hang around the resort. Overall, I would totally return to this resort. The value is so worth it, you'd be crazy not to check this awesome place out!
