First All-Inclusive--But not the last

This was the first time booking an All-Inclusive Vacation and I am so glad that I booked at the Iberostar. From time of Arrival to Departure, all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They offered us drinks, showed us where all the happenings were, got us settled in our rooms and showed us where to eat.... and this was within the first 30 minutes of arrival. DO: The resort has a wide assortment of activities and a wide campus to walk around. I suggest that you study the map and go exploring so that you know where all the quickest ways to get places (or you can pick up one of the 24hr golf cart services to bring you). Another thing to do is plan your activities, you can do so many things. One of the best things they have is their Resort App you can download. This will show you all the happenings and you can plan your schedule very easily.

Iberostar Paraiso Lindo is AMAZING!

My wife and I have gone to the Riviera Maya using CheapCaribbean 5 years in a row. Last week we spent 7 nights at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo and it was our favorite vacation yet. The resort is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, the Star Friends are great, there are several dining options, the pools and beach are perfect, and the room was clean and excellent. We paid a little more this time so we could enjoy the lazy river and wave pool and I'm glad we did. This was the first resort that had Wi-Fi everywhere...we were able to access Facebook from the pool, beach, room, and lobby. Three years ago we stayed at the Iberostar Quetzal in the Riviera Maya and we loved that Iberostar also. Cheapcaribbean.com has be excellent and we plan to book a trip soon for next spring. Looking forward to our sixth year in a row. Mexico's Riviera Maya area is beautiful, safe, and a great bargain compared to other destinations (about half the cost of going to Aruba for the same length of time).

Okay for the price

Transportation in the hotel we’re good food options were minimal and not very good, and the company that transport us and set up our excursions were very difficult because it was lightning and thunder storming the day of our excursion and we didn’t feel comfortable getting in the water with lightning and we ended up not doing the excursion they refused to give us any sort of a refund and were basically being very nasty about it and I don’t appreciate it, and now we’re out a couple hundred dollars because of that.

I’ve had better vacations....

As a repeat cheap Caribbean customer I expected the same service experienced in my previous vacations with them . When we first arrived at the hotel and approached the check-in desk the front desk agent advises that my reservation has been canceled the day before. When I asked how was that possible and that it was incorrect and to please check again, he came back and said that his system was showing my reservation was not there. I showed him my printed itinerary where it showed that I was at the correct hotel and my reservation had not been canceled but he couldn’t give me an explanation of why it was showing up like that and his system. Mind you, I was traveling with an eight-year-old who was tired, hungry and jetlagged. His only suggesting to me was to put the total amount of my stay on my credit card until he received a response from cheap Caribbean. At that point I started getting upset because it was embarrassing and inconvenient as well as unprofessional. And all I can think was what a way to start my vacation. I then asked him if I could use the phone to call cheap Caribbean to find out what was going on and after one hour and a half of going back-and-forth between the front desk guy, Cheap Caribbean and myself, they found my reservation. Which first had to be emailed or faxed over for he can check us in. When we finally got to the room it was nice and clean however the entire time we were there our A/C did not work. We called maintenance to come fix it but since we spent most of our time out of the room we don’t know if he actually ever showed up. That night when we got back to the room we realized it still wasn’t working but since we were so all so tired, we didn’t call that night. Luckily, we had two fans and were on the third floor and we also left the sliding doors open all night to bring in the breeze. The next morning we called again and also told our housekeeper who was a few rooms down that our a/c wasn’t working and that we had placed a request the day before for someone to come fix it but they never came. She responded with, “ no worries someone will take care of it today”. And again that night we got back to the room it was still not working. At that point my husband just said let’s leave the fans on and the sliding door open all day and night so it stays somewhat cool in the room...and so, that’s how we spent the rest of our vacation there. As far as food choices, most of the all a cart restaurants were closed or fully booked during our entire stay. Even though our hotel was not at full capacity. So most of the time we ate at the buffet which was good but after a couple of days it got boring since it was the same food over and over. With our package we purchased airport transportation through cheap Caribbean ahead of time for round-trip transfers. The day before our departure we went to the designated guy stationed at our hotel to confirm our transportation to the airport the next day. He was so extremely rude and unprofessional, literally gave my husband and I huge lecture because we did not look for him at the beginning of our stay as I’m assuming that he was supposed to give us some type of tour and coupons of some sort. But with all that happened during our check-in we totally forgot to check in with him afterwards. And as we can all agree, when you are on vacation mode, you shouldn’t be put in a situation where you have an obligation to meet up with the company’s agent before you can actually start enjoying your vacation stay, which seems ridiculous to me. So to make a long story short, this guy told us that since we did not check in with him at the beginning of our stay he couldn’t make accommodations for us regarding our transportation to the airport so he said that we had to be ready in the lobby by 730AM because that was the only option he had for us. Mind you, our flight does not leave until 12:30 PM. So we decided to not jump on that shuttle so early in the morning and decided to grab a cab on our own at a later time which we had to pay for out-of-pocket again. With all that said, I would like to say The staff was excellent, The kids club was amazing as well as their staff and my daughter had a blast which made this the highlight of our stay. On my future trips, I will not be choosing Iberostar for lodging.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive escape-haven in the gorgeous Riviera Maya.

The beachy shores are very wide and deep with soft white sands & bright blue water.

Chillaxing at the five sunshiny pools with a lazy river and wave pool.

You can access facilities at Paraiso Del Mar and Paraiso Beach, located on the same property.

What We'd Change

The wave pool doesn't run continuously, so if you want to guarantee yourself a spot, get there in the morning. The truth is, when something is this awesome, it draws a crowd.

Why You Should Go

It's a zippy 30 minutes from the airport. Cocktails with beach views are calling your name.

A small train runs all over the resort, taking you to restaurants, lobby, rooms, spa and more.

Don't miss the endless activities - water sports, tennis, golf, beach volleyball & more. Game on.

Clubs for kids and teens keep the kiddos entertained. You can book much-needed spa time.
