Beautiful Resort

I would go back to the resort in a heart beat!!!! The only thing I would change is more music in the evening for a 50-70 year old crowd. The night club was not what I expected. It was definitely for a 20 year old crowd.

Excellent, beautiful resort

Stayed at the Iberostar Paraíso Beach Resort for 4 nights/5 days. The resort and our vacation was absolutely excellent, I would definitely return in the future. Long post, but lots of info I would have liked to hear before going. Positive thoughts: • The resort is beautiful and the pictures on Cheap Caribbean (and the Iberostar website) do not do it justice at all. We spent a lot of time walking around this resort and the connected Iberostar resorts (more on this below) and it is beautiful and well kept everywhere you look. Lots of fun "wildlife" (peacocks, swans, flamingos, birds, cute raccoon type animals, etc) to be found around the resort • Service was excellent from check in to check out -- all of the staff were friendly and willing to help make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Most, if not all, staff speak a good amount of english. Everyone went above and beyond to serve us during our stay without expecting or pushing for a tip, however if you do tip they are very appreciative and I would recommend you bring some small bills to do so in situations such as the restaurants, room service (included!), and if someone personally brings you a drink from the bar • There were at least 3 cafeteria style dining options at Paraíso Beach, a bunch of restaurants (listed on Iberostar website), and room service is included in the package. Cafeteria style food quality was acceptable/as can be expected. Room service food was not great but a decent option to pick at none the less. The restaurants were very good, see below. • Visited the El Colonial, Japanese Hibachi, and "Star Rock" (hard rock) restaurants during our stay. All of them were excellent. The food, service, and atmosphere was above and beyond what we expected. These restaurants are included in the package, however we did tip the waiters. You do need a reservation for these (except star rock). We emailed the concierge before we got there to make reservations, you can also make them upon arrival no problem. • The pool is very large, and we did not have trouble finding a spot to sit at any point during our stay. There are plenty of places to hang out, both in the sun and the shade. There are three swim up bars in the pool, a waterfall, lots of islands and sitting structures throughout in the water. We do not have kids but can imagine they would love the pool as well. There is a separate small kiddie pool with play structure for very small kids as well. • The beach is very large as well, walked for at least 10 minutes down the coast and did not reach the end of the beach/resort compound. As others have said, there is sea weed on the shore of the beach, although we did see them cleaning it up in the morning as best they can. Its really not that severe, and definitely doesn't prevent you from swimming or enjoying the beach. There is a full bar and a hamburger bar located right on the beach, and plenty of chairs under umbrellas. The beach is all enclosed within the compound of resorts, you will not feel unsafe or see any person on this beach that does not have business being there at any time. Negative thoughts (not many, not severe): • The resort is very very large -- If you have trouble getting around, you may not be able to walk even from your room to the pool/beach area. Our room was the furthest possible building from the pool and took us about 10 minutes to walk to the pool/beach. We actually enjoyed this personally, but just mentioning it. NOTE that there are an incredible abundance of staff with golf carts whom all offer rides to you anywhere in the resort all of the time -- very easy although we did not personally make use of this. There are also "bus stops" all over the resort for this purpose. Because of this, this comment shouldn't even really be in the negative category. • There were a ton of little kids at this resort, from strollers to like pre teens. The pool is really really big and we did not have any problem relaxing due to kids being here, just thought I would mention it. If you do have kids, this is not a negative; in fact, this resort looks like a really great place to bring kids. Not much else to say about this • From reading the Cheap Caribbean listing and Iberostar website, I was lead to believe that this resort is connected to several other Iberostar resorts, all of which we would have access to during our stay. While it is true that this resort is connected to others, depending on which tier you pay for you can or cannot use the amenities of the other resorts. You are free to walk around and explore the other resorts without getting bothered, but we were turned away from a pool bar at one of the other resorts for not having the right color wrist bands. The tier structure or hierarchy of these resorts is confusing/unknown to me, but they did try to get us to upgrade when we checked in for $75USD a night. See below for more on this: • As stated above, they tried to get us to upgrade from Paraíso Beach to one of the other resorts in the compound for $75 a night. I don't know what the other Iberostar resort was called but it bordered Paraíso Beach on the right when facing the beach. From exploring the other resort (we did not upgrade) I don't think this would have been worth it at all. Paraíso Beach, to me, looks like the nicer resort. Even if you disagree, they are at worst equal resorts. Paraíso Beach definitely has the better pool, and more shade to sit in. Just my thoughts. Don't take these negatives too seriously, like I said we were blown away by this resort and our vacation was better then we even expected. Everyones experience will be a little different here due to the sheer size of the resort and options you have for dining, activities, etc. HAVE FUN!

Loved it!

We had the most amazing time at Iberostar! The staff, the rooms, the beach, everything was great. I can not say enough nice things about the entertainment team. They made our trip! They made us laugh, and kept us entertained the entire time. The waitress on the beach was wonderful, and everyone was so sweet. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful all inclusive vacation. We are already planning our next trip!
