Best Vacation!!!

My family and I were debating of traveling to Jamaica due to a lot of negative reviews but we've been wanting to go so we took a risk and booked our stay at the Hilton. To tell you that it was an amazing vacation! The hotel was very clean, the service and food were excellent. I felt as if I was at home. Thank you for providing us with an amazing vacation.

Mediocre

Rooms were comfortable. Door to patio was extremely hard to open. We paid for nicer room with view but not sure we got best room for price. Staff was very friendly. Food was okay. Not very tasteful and options for dining were very limited. We had all inclusive package but room service was not included which at times were only option for food. Beach was okay but the swimming area was very limited. If you are wanting to snorkel off shore, this is not worth your time. The most you could wade out was thigh high. I would not return. The haggling from vendors about offering best price was annoying for excursions and transportation.

Good Value

Enjoyed our stay here. Public areas were nicely decorated and very clean. Our room was a bit tired looking. It looked as though it had been partially updated, but doors and floors were somewhat beat up. Service was a mix. The men were pleasant, however a number of the women were noticeably rude. We got an honest to goodness eye roll in response to a special coffee request. The view was beautiful and the grounds were well maintained. The ocean water at the beach had a lot of seaweed and was not clear like we had seen at other beaches in Jamaica. The surf out beyond the reef was rather rough and apparently was the cause for the water right at the beach to be churned up with a lot of sand. The restaurant food was excellent. We paid for a room upgrade at check-in to go from garden view to ocean view. The view of the ocean was beautiful, but we were directly above the performance area and it was quite loud every evening until 10:30pm. There is definitely a lively atmosphere here with all sorts of activities. It got a little too loud for me, but my older teen girls enjoyed it. There is a second beach beyond the pier that is much more quiet and laid back, but it's a bit of a walk from the main lobby. We witnessed some incredible sunsets.

Great time

For the most part, we had a great time. The food was great, lots of options. We had reservations at the specialty restaurants for 3 nights, but never made it. They had grills set up along the walkway/patio one night with jerk chicken and other grilled Jamaican style food, which was excellent. There are 2 pools on site. One is just a large rectangle pool, this is where they play volleyball. It's pretty laid back. The other pool is where the swim up bar, lazy river and slides are located. You have to use a tube on the longest slide or they won't let you go down. This would be fine, except that there are not nearly enough tubes to go around. It may take several hours just to get 1 tube (and there were 3 of us). Our last day, there were a group of adults (men and women) yelling at my 13 yr old daughter because they wanted her tube. This was a bit ridiculous! The beach was small and full of seaweed. The lounge chairs were so close to each other, making them hard to use. The beach was beautiful, but not enough of it! I recommend the snorkeling excursion to Margaritaville. We had a blast! I would definitely do it again! Our last night did not go well. We came back from The Rose Hall Great House night tour (the haunted house) to find a water leak in the ceiling above our bathroom. The ceiling was collapsing and everything we had in there was soaked (curling iron, straigjtener, make up, etc. I called the front desk while my husband went in person. They said they would send someone up right away, but after about an hour and a few more visits to the front desk, someone finally came. We ended up having to change rooms our last night, which meant packing up and changing floors only to unpack and repack in the morning. We were limited to just a few minutes for dinner that night. Bummer! Overall we had a nice time and Jamaica is Beautiful!!

Hotel Description

Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa: Allow Yourself Some All-Inclusive Fun

If it's time to escape the everyday for pampering under a Caribbean sun, head to Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Your kids will love the new Sugar Mills Water Park and you can relax on a beautiful, sugar-sand beach.

Built on the site of an old sugar plantation, this updated resort offers an all-inclusive package that includes snorkeling, kayaking, wind sailing and 1,000 feet of beach, just steps from your room. The beautiful water park has three terraced pools with a lazy river and 280-foot waterslide perfect for letting your inner child whoop it up with your kids. Or grab your clubs and enjoy Cinnamon Hill Golf Course, listed as a Top Course in Jamaica by Golf Digest Magazine.

If the kids need time away, the supervised Kidz Club or Teen Zone offers fun, age-appropriate activities. You can indulge a little at the Soothie Spa or grab a pina colada at the swim-up bar at Mangos in the water park.

When it's time to eat, you are sure to find what you're hungry for at one of Hilton Rose Hall's four restaurants. Whether you grab a burger at Seaside Grill next to the pool or a seared tuna steak at the exquisite Three Palms Restaurant, you are guaranteed to leave the table full and happy.

We don't think you will need to leave the property to have a wonderful vacation, but if you're looking for an extra adventure, pay a few dollars more for a glass-bottomed boat ride, or visit nearby Dolphin Cove, where you can dance with the dolphins in their turquoise lagoon.

Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa offers fun for all at this all-inclusive getaway.
