Disappointed with Hilton Barbados

Disappointed with ocean room view as we were put at the end of the tower where half the view was the ocean and the other half was a lot where the broken beach chairs , some trash and several cars parked there for a few minutes off and on.When we arrived,we were told to go to the Beach Buffet which we did,had a snack there and after we were told that the cost was 55.00 each. The price was not advertised so we thought it was either a complimentery or a small charge at least not going to cost us 117.00 for a snack. We met several other guests with the same complaints also. The only good points were the housekeeper Carol Ann and the young man named Nicholas who took care of the beach chairs on the beach. They were both very nice to us and told us where to go to eat and about the local areas. Those 2 employees made our trip enjoyable.

Expect the Hilton to be more of a hotel and less of a resort. Service was fine, although Franklin (smiles) at the front is super! The beach is sandy but the ocean is unswimmable due to large crashing waves. Not relaxing at all, so most who wanted to swim dipped into the 77-78 degree pool (chilly for me). Barbados is nice with a lot of restaurants and excursions to take. Look at the cruise line calendar and book around cruise dates. Ship days are hotel days and those are when you wished it was more of a resort. Rooms are clean and ocean view is a must. Restaurants... err..... dining options is almost a jokeable. There are so many options outside that I would save yourself time and money and eat anywhere else. For breakfast, wear a parka and eat inside because the birds fight you for your food outside and inside is like a meat locker. Don’t do the buffet unless you expect to eat everything you can... it’s not worth it. I was expecting a nice beach and calm water... this is too far south to experience that. If you can spend the money, go further up the west side on the other side of Bridgetown. That’s where all the beach paradise poster looking places are. That’s what I missed being at the Hilton.

Great resort

We stayed at the Hilton in April 2018 and we were very pleased with everything. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We stayed in a bay view room on the 5th floor and the view was outstanding. The racehorses swim in the bay near the Radisson early every morning and they can be seem from the balcony. (Note: avoid the 6th floor on the bay side as the railing is concrete instead of wrought iron.) As a Hilton Honors member, we bypassed a long check-in line which helped on our arrival. All in all, we highly recommend this resort.

What's to Love

We love the incredible beaches at the Hilton Hotel in Barbados. Situated on a point jutting into the ocean, Hilton Barbados Resort borders two white sand beaches.

What We'd Change

The architecture of the hotel is very modern and not very Bajan. But the new, stylish rooms are perfect for relaxing after a hard day of play.

Why You Should Go

This outstanding resort is a great base for exploring the beauty of Barbados. Two white-sand beaches and a dive shop mean island adventure is close-to-hand.

Hilton Barbados: Discover the Stunning Tropical Peninsula of Needham's Point

Wondering where to find a vacation that offers ultimate relaxation and plenty of fun for the kids under the warm Barbados sun? Hilton Barbados, on beautiful Needhams Point is our answer. With the clear blue water and beauty of Barbados, and Hilton service, families and couples alike can't go wrong at this lushly landscaped resort with its own tropical garden.

For amped-up fun, cruise on over to the on-site water sports center, Barbados Blue Water Sports, where you can check out snorkeling equipment or a boogie board for extra surf-time fun.

Let the kids find their own personal heaven at the Kidz Paradise Club while you enjoy the startlingly unfamiliar sound of silence. They might even have so much fun that they won't notice when you slip off to the Hilton's spa, where an outdoor massage on the beach under a sunshade is the icing on a worry-free afternoon.

When it's time to eat, both of the Hilton's restaurants offer scrumptious choices sure to satisfy even the pickiest eater in the family. At The Grille the catch of the day reminds you of just one of the many benefits of vacationing near the sea: fresh and flavorful fare. For snacks, Careenage Bar offers Caribbean tapas and funky island drinks sure to get you in the island groove.

If you're starting to feel a little too indulgent, Hilton Barbados has a full-service fitness center with Precor(R) fitness equipment and fun salsa and yoga classes. Or, for an additional charge, you can grab your clubs and head over to the Barbados Country Club. Want the crowning touch for a vacation to paradise?
