Great vacation spot

In the middle of all you want in the Rivera Maya but the resort has all you need. It’s not so big that you can’t keep track of your group but big enough to feel you are in your own world.

Great reef for snorkeling

Mostly the resort was great. We booked this resort because of the reef, which was great - we snorkeled every day and were able to see beautiful coral, plants, fish, sting rays, and turtles. The room was great. We had an awesome view of the ocean and a hot tub. The bed was very comfortable. We did have an issue with the shower water being too hot to take a shower, which was quickly fixed. Most of the staff were great and extremely nice, though we did have a couple of issues. Teresa, who was working at the restaurant "Careye" on Thursday, May 10, was extremely rude to us - watch out for her - she shouldn't be working in a job where she has to come in contact with customers. All of the rest of the staff were always very nice to us, but 1 person can ruin the entire experience. The other issue was the mini bar. On you website, it says that the mini-bar is replenished everyday with snacks, water, sodas and beer; it also states this on the hotel's website. Our second day there, they did come and re-stock, however on the 3rd day, no one came, we called room service and the front desk and both said that someone would come. later when we called room service again, no one answered. So we went downstairs to the lobby and were told that they only refresh the mini-bar every other day! The next day we spoke to the person who had checked us in the first day and who had told us that the mini bar was restocked daily and if we needed more to call room service. He told us it was just a misunderstanding. That day the mini-bar was restocked, however that was the last day that they came to re-stock. So basically we stayed 6 nights and the mini bar was restocked 2 times. The best part of this is that my husband and I only drank bottle water and my husband also drank a few diet cokes and ate the snacks (a couple of chocolate bars) - we didn't drink any of the beer - all we wanted replenished were bottle water, diet coke and chocolate bars. How ridiculous that they can't restock bottle water! As far as the food - the buffet was great and always had many choices. The other restaurants were just ok, nothing spectacular and nothing that you couldn't get at the buffet. And service was rather slow. I didn't drink a lot of alcohol (some days not at all), however, when you did want a drink, you usually had to wait in line. It seems like they never had enough bar tenders - maybe they do this so you don't drink too much! I'm on vacation to enjoy, not wait in line. Overall, I'd go back to the beach for the reef, but not back to this resort. Maybe will try the resort next door, next time.

Amazing food!

We had been at Oasis Tulum last year. A lot of improvements have been made. The restaurantes are now much better, no reservation needed. The food was remarkable good. An special mention deserves the buffet: good quality, lot of variety and every day something new.

Poor service and money was stolen out of safe

We booked this hotel for our Family vacation, 15 of us went hoping for a wonderful family vacation. I felt the hotel was nice with great pool area with many activities for our kids, and the food was pretty good. However, the service was pretty bad, it took forever to get drinks or food by the pools, and the beach was loaded with smelly seaweed. Most of the other hotels clean theirs up daily, but here they only have people out there every few days so it piles up to where u can’t even get to the water and begins to smell. It was clear that the hotel is understaffed and/or in financial distress. Even with all of that I wasn’t going to complain until the last night of our trip when my sister-in-law went back to her room after dinner and found 3 security guards in her room near her safe. When they saw her they ran out. After checking the safe she discovered that her code was reset and $150 was stolen. Of course we contacted to hotel management but nothing was done. They said they could see that the room was entered at such time, but they didn’t have cameras so we couldn’t prove anything. The security can freely get their hands on the device that can get into any of the safes to open them without any monitoring of this device or cameras. So Please don’t trust that your stuff is in this hotel.

What's to Love

Living large and chillaxing seaside where your feet melt into the soft, sugary sand .

Ogling at the vibrant, spectacular coral reef. Snorkeling gear is free, plus you can dip into the free snorkeling tour.

Stress-ousting, mind-melting spa services.

Trekking around Tulum and gazing at the view of hypnotic, crazy blue waves.

Hanging with the sea turtles at nearby Akumal. Splish splash.

Sending your little ones off to the Kids' Club for activities while you escape to Beach Chill Central.

What We'd Change

The resort is located about an hour away from the airport, but if you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be.

Why You Should Go

It's 60 miles from the airport - it's a drive, but when arrive, you'll be far away from the real world.

You can improve your game on two tennis courts. Love-Love.

There's yoga, pilates, water aerobics plus a gym/fitness center to keep your beach bod beachtastic.

For experienced divers, there's scuba on-site. If that's not your thang, there's fishing. Both for a fee.
