Choose wisely

The people at this resort are amazing. They have great service and they care about you. The people we met that work there we love but that’s about all we loved. The beach is nice but full of seaweed and although they had a crew cleaning it the crew didn’t pay much attention to any area except the private part of the beach. The vendors I. The market are the most annoying humans I have ever met and sometimes a little scary even. The guys selling excursions in the lobby are also as annoying everyone wants you to spend more and more money to very minuet and they ask you to give them all of your time as if your time never matters they don’t care if your looking for your kids missing a taxi or if you are sick they want you to give them more and more money and time rather than allow you to enjoy your vacation. If you plan to enjoy any food here please bunting your own or find a place you can eat outside this resort. We made dinner reservations at the Italian place Japanese hibachi and the steak house and the only one that was actually worth trying to eat was the steak house. The buffet was absolutely gross and I’m not a picky eater. The drink selection consists basically of watered down alcohol and a colored corn syrup of your choice I enjoy having drinks on vacation but I actually didn’t even care to have any here and again I swear I’m not that picky of a person. We tried to upgrade in hopes we could eat and drink something but after spending our time being sold and agreeing to pay the difference we were told there was no availability then the next day someone else said there was availability and they had no idea why we were lied to. Also if u want ice in ur room don’t wait for it 3calls and 3 asks at the desk for it and we never got any ice. I’ve been to several resorts and never found anything as bad as what I seen here. I hope no o e else has to be as uncomfortable on their vacay as I was. Good luck

Worst trip ever

It was the worst experience ever. We thought all inclusive meant you can eat and drink when you want. We didn’t have room service, we were limited to when we could eat. All the bars except the lobby closed at 5:30 and we could only eat at the restaurants 3 times the whole week. The rest of the time we had to eat at a buffet and the food was not good. I asked for suites with two beds each and we didn’t get suites. We also only had one out of 3 rooms with two beds. The other two rooms only had one bed for 4 people for each room. And they only brought two cots up for the kids instead of giving them a different room. We were not explained anything and had no directions. When we asked they couldn’t speak English. Our tv didn’t come in good and it was all in Spanish. The water for our showers were cold half the time and the shower head didn’t always work. We had to ask 3 out of 7 days to come clean our room. This was our first all inclusive trip and I don’t think I ever want to do another one. This was the worst experience ever.

A few problems

The resort was very nice if you like children. many, many children. This wasn't in the ad for this resort. we upgraded ( we thought ) to a more adult area only to find we were in more children. We paid more money for this which did not make me happy.... We also booked an excursion through the resort ( snorkeling ). A photographer was on the boat and took many pictures. His name was Reynaldo and said he was working for tropic one studio. I paid him in full for the pictures and gave him an extra 20 dollars tip. He gave me a ticket that said I was paid in full. I went to the website and they want more money. This is a scam so beware of Tropic one Studio!!!!!! All in all, I would bring my grand kids here to expenence a wonderful resort ( geared towards kids). but as an old man, I would never come back.

Time in Punta Cana

Great value room that I stayed in 42204 needs a flapper valve in the toilet tank (leaking all day and night) and mirror in bathroom needs replacement also fixtures in tub area fell off . I guess it is what it is for value and pricing. Saving seating at pools and beach for hours on end with no one in site should be looked into. Other than that teams and staff were terrific.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, family-friendly beach blast. No unhappy beachers here.

Dropping the youngsters at the kids' spa while you indulge in a much-needed hot stone massage.

Being handed a welcome cocktail when you arrive - throw it back and have another.

Hittin' the waves via kayak, catamaran or paddle surfing. Beach time is the best time.

What We'd Change

The grounds hosting the multiple Grand Bahia resorts can be noisy, but Turquesa is the smallest of them and offers some relative quiet.

Why You Should Go

It's 25 minutes from the airport - a brisk trip to your tropical nirvana.

You have access to everything (except buffets) at Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana and Bavaro. Turquesa is the calmest during the day.

There's an ahh-some children's water park. Your squirts will be tickled pink.

The Family Master Suite has two interconnected rooms. Relax, you can trust the kiddos.
