Great vacation, not so great resort

Resort is well kept, rooms are clean, but no wifi in the room unless you pay an extra nine dollars each day.Wifi only in the lobby and it is super, super slow. If you want to go to the beach you have to take a trolley, waiting time can be up to three minutes. Going back to the room, good luck catching a trolley cause everyone tries to get on at the same time. Food is good, but service is poor, there were no utensils, no cups anywhere. I have to keep asking the waiter where are the utensils and cups. Beach chairs are taken early and are not occupied by people but by beach towels. There are people on the beach bothering you to buy stuff but if you tell them no, they will leave you alone. I will not go back there due to the poor wifi, poor service, and having to wait for trolley to get to the beach..i wish they can give customers bicycles to get to the beach.

Best vacay hands down

Hotel complex excellent. Stayed at Bahia Principe Turquesa. Rooms were great. People very friendly and outgoing. Staff at Las Dalias buffet went out of their way to ensure your satisfaction specifically Francisco. If ever there look him up, he will take care of you. Staff very caring after slight mis-hap wife had. Called the room on a daily basis to check up on her. Also Isabel very friendly made sure we were taken care of. I WILL RETURN, already planning a family getaway.

Would not go back

Although our stay started out pretty good and the only issue we had was that we were too far from the beach which wasn't really a problem because they run carts all day. We kept hearing stories from other people and considered ourselves lucky because things were going well. Skip to third day, we were locked out of our room, battery needed changing, it happens no big deal, next day, we are locked out of our room, no wash clothes, check out day, we are locked out again!! Last night, the air conditioner backed up and water is running from the ceiling and the the ceiling is starting to sag. Only got to make reservations at two restaurants and not the ones we wanted. Not enough English speaking employees to help you out with problems. Only one kind of beer!!!! That IS a problem. On the good side, room was always very clean, food was good and service was also very good. Oh I forgot, the electricity went off several times a day and the shower didn't drain right, also no one told us where the English speaking channels were on the tv heard that from another person staying there. Really big resort, like 7 in one.so if you want a small cozy feeling this isn't it. Not the worst place we have stayed but not the best either.

Poor experience

Beach was disgusting full of seaweed. Rope us into a presentation with out telling us what it was about until we got there. Over an hour later, the guy became rude because we were not going to buy into their time share, as it was not worth the price. Even after paying for 30 years we still would have had to pay for air fare, and $250 each Time. Family would have been extra. Bed was hard. Very bad experience here. This is the second time staying with Grand bahia principle. Very disappointing this time around. Will not stay with this company again.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, family-friendly beach blast. No unhappy beachers here.

Dropping the youngsters at the kids' spa while you indulge in a much-needed hot stone massage.

Being handed a welcome cocktail when you arrive - throw it back and have another.

Hittin' the waves via kayak, catamaran or paddle surfing. Beach time is the best time.

What We'd Change

The grounds hosting the multiple Grand Bahia resorts can be noisy, but Turquesa is the smallest of them and offers some relative quiet.

Why You Should Go

It's 25 minutes from the airport - a brisk trip to your tropical nirvana.

You have access to everything (except buffets) at Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana and Bavaro. Turquesa is the calmest during the day.

There's an ahh-some children's water park. Your squirts will be tickled pink.

The Family Master Suite has two interconnected rooms. Relax, you can trust the kiddos.
