Worst resort ever!

I have stayed in many resorts in punta cana, and this one was the worst! Service was horrible! Every time we asked for a type of drink they never had it due to the large amount of people that were in the resort. There was only wifi in one place ( which I hated), TOO many mosquitos! Someone stole 200 dollars that we left in our room. The only good thing I liked were the Italian restaurant and the Dominican restaurant. Don't go to this resort. I don't recommend it.

Relaxing

We had a wonderful time. We did wish the pools were open earlier and stayed open later. I don't know if it was the week or time of year we went but the activities were all done in Spanish and none of us are fluent. The kids were hoping to play put put and we all walked down. There were 2 guys at the stand and there seemed to be a language barrier. There was already two families playing. What we finally figured out was that there are only 3 golf clubs and we had to wait. It would be nice if the course was larger and they had more clubs and balls.

Overrated

Check in and check out is horrible. Waiting for hours and staff is poorly trained. You get ignored and they seem busy looking at each others computers and going in and out of office ignoring people in front of them. Many different lines and they cater to spanish speaking people first. English is almost non existent. Too big of a resort and too crowded. Lots of sea weed in the beach. Trolleys and trucks are all over the place as mini cabs in a busy avenue. Food is ok but you get sick to your stomach after few days. A la carte restaurants are better in the sense that they are less crowded, but is like buffet food where you are allowed to get one thing. Pools look like a fle market where lines for drinks congregate from inside the pool to the rest room area. Had no ac and power on day 1. Roof was leaking. Waited 6 hrs from arrival to getting the room. Those few "10 more minutes as room not cleaned etc" wasted me a day in a hot lobby where thick banana cream drinks offered made me sick to the stomach. I would not recommend any of 7 hotels in this huge resort as they all look the same and everything is mixed up. Waste of money. Will never go back.

Beautiful place with bad customer service

The resort has beautiful gardens and pools. The ocean view is amazing, but customer service is bad. Guest services are not helpful at all. They were arrogant and they did not want to help the tourists. While I was waiting for my turn, they were making fun of some families at the resort. One of the guys, Juan Carlos, did not make eye contact and did not answer all my questions. On top of the bad treatment, I went to my room and I found a cockroach. Not all was bad at Bahia Principe. The food was great at the Orquidea restaurant. The animation team was great. They worked hard to entertained us. The shows and parties at night were fantastic. Also the person in charge of the kayaks and catamarans was very nice.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive, all fun-in-the-sun hot spot for all ages.

Elongating on Bavaro Beach, named one of the top beaches on the planet by UNESCO.

Feeling the softness of your luscious skin after the oats and honey treatment at the spa.

Hydro-massage bathtub in the rooms - put in some bubbles and you're golden.

What We'd Change

Though wandering through the solariums and tropical gardens on the way to the beach can be fun, it's also quite a walk! Thankfully, the resort has free shuttles.

Why You Should Go

It's 25 minutes from the airport. You'll smell the salt of the sea very soon.

Your little urchins can splash around all day (every day) at the children's water park.

You can upgrade to The Club Golden & Golden Principe Club & enjoy rock star status.

You have access to everything (except buffets) at Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro and Turquesa.
