Overall a good hotel-food quality needs improving.

The service is good, but food is always the same in all facilities. No cheese bar ! No salad variety, everything is good but food options are very, very low and needs to be improved. Staff are nice and very helpful. The other thing generally here in Mexico it starts from when you exit at the airport to no matter where you go, they wanna upsale on everything and that goes on my nerves a lot. They need a bar on the beach, !

Low Key Honeymoon

My new husband and I headed to Cancun to the GR Caribeby Solaris. We arranged for round trip pickup from the airport, which was very easy and VERY useful. We were greeted with professionalism and kind faces upon our arrival. Follow instructions very carefully when leaving the airport, it is just as everyone says... Know who you are riding with and go straight there. You are in no danger, but everyone wants your business. The airport was easy to traverse and customs was outrageously fast (maybe it was a fluke)? Either way, the resort is super close to the airport (another reason why we picked this place). Arriving before three allowed for some time to sit and relax before obtaining our room. Please remember, if you aren't a VIP member, you will wait until 3 pm for your room. But there was much to see and do while we waited. It was a very pretty entrance and many places to relax. Our room was quite large. Upon arrival our beds were two separate doubles. We wanted a king, so their remedy was to push them together, which they did! Very promptly may I add. This was hilarious because of the godzilla sized bed, but it was more than sufficient for our needs. What I loved was response time and that they cared about our desires. Now, I will say that the there are options for excursions, but post wedding my husband and I strictly remained on the resort to eat, sleep, drink, swim in the ocean and lay by the pool. It was truly wonderful. Probably one of the CLEANEST resorts I've EVER been. If you don't believe me, hang around the pool at night when people have headed in, people are vacuuming and cleaning the chairs you lie on all day, cleaning the pool, etc. It was impressive. You can honestly see the caliber of the work here and the numbers of people it takes to make this place run smoothly. Long story short, we loved it so much we got a membership and will come back for many years.... I am not sad about it one bit. I have traveled the world, but was touched when people kept referring to Cancun as our "home". I look forward to going back, going on excursions (which are FAR- but look totally worth it) and enjoying all of the updates that are currently being worked on. The food was delicious, the staff was kind and worked very hard. If you are on the fence, take the leap. This was my first time using cheap caribbean, and we were not disappointed. We really loved the resort. The theme, very old World and Marrakesh, was comforting and soothing and just plain stunning. It is a more rustic feel than a modern ritzy resort, so it that's your palate, this isn't for you! Pay attention to your flights, we connected through Chicago and it was a cluster at the airport (no fault of cheap caribbean, but rather fault of the awful airport)... Maybe see if you're able to connect through someone that has their stuff together.

Excellent Vacation

This is my first time writing a review. My honest opinion the trip was excellent. I went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The beach was beautiful and little to no seaweed. The food was amazing but small portions. The waiter Dieder in Bogaventure was amazing and gave us seconds if we asked. The rooms were okay nothing special. They were cleaned and the fridge was restocked everyday. The concierge Francisco was amazing helped us with our reservations and excursion. Do not waste your time on the presentations they last 3-4 hours and are very pushy for you to purchase their membership. If you choose to go and waste your time they will give you a free massage or a credit towards an excursion. The comedy show was hilarious. Marco polo is good and the desserts were amazing. We went kayaking which was also fun. We would definitely go back but stay longer to enjoy more of the food and dining. Fuentes breakfast was awful stick to Solaris cafe. I preferred the GR Caribe side Royal Solaris was much louder, more children and more crowded. Also dining ends at 10pm but room service is 24 hours. No night life and everything dies down around 11pm. Overall was a relaxing trip with beautiful views. Service was excellent!

Amazing Getaway

Heard about this resort from my brother and decided to give it a try. I was utterly impressed! This resort blew my girlfriend and I away! Service: The service was AMAZING! Everyone, from the concierge to the bartenders were outstanding and did whatever it took to make sure that we were having a good time. The bartenders are great at making sure you always have a drink in your hand :) Beach: The beach was perfect other than there being lots of sea weed. Food: The food was pretty good. Buffet was like any other and the restaurants were pretty decent. We didn't expect to have 5 star meals, after all the resort does have to cook for a lot of people. So we understood. Other: This resort was extremely family friendly, yet also nice for adults. It was awesome to have it connected to another resort, which expanded the amenities. We also went on an excursion to Chichen Itza, which was outstanding. The hotel representative was very helpful with setting the excursion up. I would highly recommend GR Caribe to any one. We had an amazing time!

What's to Love

The hauntingly beautiful Mexican-Moroccan architecture that's soothing and graceful - it lulls you right into your Chill Zone.

Resort privileges at Royal Solaris Cancun - check out the mouthwatering pizzas served by the pool and the kids will love the waterpark.

The intimate plazas, or "Mexican squares", where you can spend some quiet time relaxing, enjoying a drink and embracing that, yes, you are actually on vacay.

The spa where you can melt into stress-smashing massages, the Jacuzzi, steam room, and more. Pampering Central.

Every Thursday, you can watch exotic belly dancers in the lobby whose sensual moves channel women from antiquity. (Think Salome, but nicer versions).

You can enjoy hours of doing nothing on their gorgeous terraces. (That's what getaways are for, right?)

Dining at the sublime Bogavante restaurant as you gaze at azure water lapping a few feet away.
