cancun vacation!

we booked through cheap carribean to save money but we still spent a good amount. we got to the resort and it was pretty outdated. the rooms were not modern and we had an ant problem but houskeeping came in and cleaned them but we were not granted a new room. communication was hard for us americans because not many employees spoke english. the beach was beautiful and clear...little seaweed but nothing to complain about. on the 3rd night the resort lost power for 2 hours and that was uncomfortable being the hot muggy weather that stayed pretty constant each day.... the food was undesirable not many good choices. overall it was an okay resort.

Great time had by all!

We really had a great time and being from Vegas, where we are the kings of the buffet, I really have no quibbles at all about the food. The pools were great and the service was wonderful, except for as mentioned below. What I would recommend is as follows (nothing major really, just little things) and the pool comments are for the Royal Solaris side actually: 1. The Entertainment staff is great, but please play the music at the pool instead of advertising Coco Bongo and The City! We want to hear the music or whatever entertainment you are providing not advertising of the clubs!! 2. The pool bartenders need to quit socializing with their coworkers and wait on the customers por favor!! 3. As for the food, the best thing we had all week was the taco stand by the pool at the GR Caribe side!!!. We really come to Mexico for the culture and experience and this should be standard at both pools instead of the sushi and pizza!! 4. As for the entertainment at night, it would be great if the entertainment staff could let the singer/duo perform instead of taking over the dance floor!!

Very Nice resort

The only complaint I have is with the leak in the room. We had water enter the safe when it rained. Passports were soaked. And the last night it leaked all over our tile floor and I slipped in it going to the bathroom. Over all it was a nice resort. The choice of pools was excellent and the beach was very clean. Lots of places to eat but hard to get in to a few of them. Booking through Cheap Caribbean was easy with no hassles and a great price.

What's to Love

The hauntingly beautiful Mexican-Moroccan architecture that's soothing and graceful - it lulls you right into your Chill Zone.

Resort privileges at Royal Solaris Cancun - check out the mouthwatering pizzas served by the pool and the kids will love the waterpark.

The intimate plazas, or "Mexican squares", where you can spend some quiet time relaxing, enjoying a drink and embracing that, yes, you are actually on vacay.

The spa where you can melt into stress-smashing massages, the Jacuzzi, steam room, and more. Pampering Central.

Every Thursday, you can watch exotic belly dancers in the lobby whose sensual moves channel women from antiquity. (Think Salome, but nicer versions).

You can enjoy hours of doing nothing on their gorgeous terraces. (That's what getaways are for, right?)

Dining at the sublime Bogavante restaurant as you gaze at azure water lapping a few feet away.

What We'd Change

Why You Should Go

If you're not heights afeared, you can zip line, or if you want something low to the ground, you can take a ride through the jungle. The staff will help direct you to the best tours in the area.

There's a private marina with pedal boats and kayaks for you seafaring folks.

For you athletes, there's tennis, putt putt golf and beach volleyball. Let the games begin.

There's an onsite mini golf course and mini water parks next door at Royal Solaris, but both offer BIG fun.

For your little ones, there's a Kids Club at Royal Solaris Cancun where they can dive into everything from puzzles to face painting to movies. (Read: lots of activities so they'll sleep well at night).
