Very disappointing

I booked this trip for myself and my daughters (ages 4 and 7) for 5 nights. I'd never been to an all-inclusive resort but was looking forward to the ease of what was promised. From the moment we arrived to the lobby until the moment we left, I struggled with how unhelpful the staff was, how shabby the resort was (once you stepped foot outside of the impressive lobby) and how massive the crowds were. It took over 1 hour of waiting when we checked in bc they didn't have a room ready. The room they gave us was in a building very furthest from the beach/pool. The room itself was tacky and smelled like mold. The ceiling in the bathroom was bowed and I found it was bc when the people used the bathroom above us, it leaked into our rooms. The food was atrocious....breakfast was ok. But if you want more than 1 cup of coffee, you better not be in a hurry bc the wait staff was never around. They were so disinterested in being helpful and rarely smiled. It was uncomfortable. Trying to get a drink by the pool was a joke. Seriously, it felt like I was doing them some huge favor and when they gave me my drink, they wouldn't even attempt to smile or acknowledge me. Strange. The only redeeming part of the trip was that the sunshine and beach was spectacular. I will NEVER go back to this resort.

Amazing time, resort and staff

This resort is amazing. Ive been to several all inclusive resorts but this by far is my favorite. Starting from the location which is right on the beach to the staff who at all times were very friendly to the food which had a good variety. Every night there was some different theatrical show going on, a casino, and a club so there was entertainment for everyone. Will definitely be returning soon. Thank you guys at Catalonia for making our vacation experience great!

Resort

Rooms were very tired. Need some TLC. Shower was tiny!!! Barely room to stand up. Beds were hard. Of course we didn't buy into the "privileged" special rooms so don't know about those. The pool and beach were beautiful - relaxing and clean. Never got a beach location under an umbrella but no prob finding one at the pool. Bartender at pool bar - Raidon- was great. He made our drinks while we were walking our way over there. Food was barely ok. Not much variety at buffets, a la carte restaurants gave small potions. Overall food was very bland and unexciting. For pool and beach - wonderful. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend.

Nice resort

Overall really enjoyed this resort. Positives Loved the beach. Some complained about sea weed but I thought the beach was gorgeous. Low serf with shallow water that went maybe half a mile out waist deep. Excellent snorkeling which I enjoyed daily. Resort was secluded and not on a beach full of resorts. I could walk on native beach in either direction and really enjoyed the solitude. There was a little pack of island dogs that lived at the gift shop next door that joined me on my early morning walk down the beach every morning. Loved them. The resort was quiet peaceful with gorgeous vegetation and lots of beautiful exotic birds. Enjoyed my stroll through it on the way to the beach. Food was good with lots of fresh fruits and veggies which I loved. Other than that it was typical resort buffet food. Restaurant food was very food with beautiful presentation. Our favorite was the Spanish lounge down by the beach. Pool looked nice but I didn’t spend any time there Staff was super friendly. Negatives. Room was nice spacious and comfortable. Large soaking tub and spacious sink area. Shower is very small but fine. There is beautiful stone tile. We did have an issue with zero hot water on the last day but otherwise it was fine. Our biggest issue with the room was there was literally one usable electrical outlet which was in the bathroom. My husband sleeps with a C pap and spent an hour trying to figure out how he was going to make it work. Had he not brought an extension cord he wouldn’t have. Someone finally came and rigged up the lamp somehow to get it plugged in so we wouldn’t have the cord to trip over in the night and had an open outlet to use to charge our devices. Overall we had a lovely peaceful week at the beach.
