Good Price but old resort

The resort is a little outdated and there is very little entertainment The food was good and cocktails drink great It is not so much for a young crowd but could be great if you came to relax, the few excursion are free but you can't get a space as by the time you check in almost everything was fully booked.

:-( Horrible resort

Staff was amazing, food was horrible, bar & resturants close @10p, had to change rooms 3 times (AC not working, twin size beds) to finally be put in their "upgraded room" which was like staying at a Red Roof Inn, not what we expected considering we were told this was a 4 star hotel. I would go back to Barbados but would NEVER stay at this resort again!

Almond Beach Resort in a holding pattern

Wish I had known before booking, Almond Beach has been bought out by Sandals and is waiting to be taken over. In the meantime the resort becomes a little more tired looking. Staff was great. Everyone remained upbeat and attentive and did their level-best to make your holiday pleasant. The northern portion of the resort has been shut off and abandoned. The resort's numbers are obviously way down as often times one, sometimes two of the three restaurants would not be open for dinner. The gift shop was poorly stocked. The weekly "market" by local vendors was non-existent. It was all a bit eerie. On the bright side, the resort had a unique feature of offering numerous complimentary excursions. That was a huge bonus. We had visited the resort five years ago, when it was affiliated with two other resorts. This relationship made our visit ideal. It was disappointing to visit the resort in it's current condition.

An outstanding experience overall

My wife and I were very impressed with our stay at Almond Beach Resort. Yes, it is an older resort that is being restored to its former greatness. That was in no way an issue for us. It was extremely clean, and we found nothing lacking in the accommodations. The room was somewhat simple, but very comfortable, and again, very clean. If I want to stay in an awesome room, I'm going to Vegas. We went for Barbados, which is the best Caribbean Island we have visited to date. Almond is right on the beach, and the view of the sunsets from our balcony were incredible. The beaches were perfect. Some of the best snorkeling can be found right off the beach. With all of the watersports included in the package, you can't go wrong! The meals were just fine. One tip, stick to the buffets. The a la carte can be a bit tricky at Enid's depending on volume, but it is what it is. The bars are fantastic as well. We really enjoyed the nights when Sean was behind the bar at Tommys. Also, Glyne was an excellent guide on the Jeep Safari which was (you guessed it) included in our package. We highly recommend to others and we plan on returning to Almond Beach in the future.
