Feb 09, 2026Not “Unlimited Luxury”
This is not a 5 Star hotel or a “luxury experience “; especially in comparison to other 5 Star hotels we have stayed in around the world. We paid for a Preferred Club Junior Suite Swim Up room which was extremely disappointing. The room constantly smelt of mildew and the bedclothes were always damp; eventually our clothes in the wardrobe and drawers became damp also. We mentioned this to our ‘Butler’ but nothing was done during our 10 day stay; he was more concerned about whether or not we needed our mini bar refreshed! The room was also not ‘swim up’ as you had to walk through a garden area to reach the Lazy River pool. We were also unable to use the sun beds as the terrace never got any sun,so it and the room, were always dark. As a Preferred Club guest there was exclusive access to several bars, pools and beach areas and the Olio restaurant for breakfast and lunch. However, for dinner, we were unable to book any of the A La Carte restaurants and had to queue with other guests on most nights; guests are given a buzzer to let you know your table is ready so you can wait in the bar but the Maitre Ds are unable to give any estimate of when your table will be available! Pre booking restaurants for the equivalent of Preferred Guests in other hotel chains we have stayed in has always been the norm. On a more positive note, the staff were amazing and the service was, in the main, ‘excelente’!

Everything you need in a relaxing vacation
The staff is fantastic. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is good. And the beach is wonderful! Everything you need in a vacation!

Beautiful resort with very good food. There is a quite pool and a larger "party" pool. The preferred lounge at the pool was nice but extremely noisy. The only complaint that most of the American guests had was that not a single hot tub was hot-they were cold! The french restaurant was very romantic and the food was very good. Do not miss the morning buffet at La Riviera, excellent. If you are a preferred member expect a long check in process that is not necessary. I would try to check in at the main desk and skip the formalities. You have to wait with other people so your "butler" can take you on a tour. I think your butler just wants a tip as a map would suffice, the resort is not overwhelmingly big. The rooms are big and modern and the beds were extremely comfortable. The AC worked great after maintenance reprogramed it although you could not change the temperature after he left. We would return but our heart is with Secrets Cap Cana.

Nice resort
Resort was nice, the pools are fantastic and the beach was nice. Lots of restaurants to choose from and great staff to accommodate anything you'd like!
