Feb 08, 2026It's a vacation we won't soon forget - and not in a positive way
Pro - This resort is well layed out. I never complain about my stays down south...but this one was different. We had requested a room away from the entertainment area but was given the exact opposite and placed in the building with our balcony facing the stage. After a very difficult first night, we got moved to a room that was older but very quiet. Con- We noticed immediately that lounge chairs were being reserved which caused immense stress because I didnt want to perpetuate the problem, but wanted a lounge chair. We only had issues one day with someone moving our towel and taking our reserved lounger but I felt bad for everyone at the resort that had to endure that. We ended up very sick with a stomach bug and landed in the hospital for an overnight stay. Overall it was the type of vacation I need another vacation to recover from this one. Sadly.

I would like to thank Coco Punta Cana and its staff for the great holiday we had from 27th Jan till Feb 4th. Beautiful property, excellent entertainment, delicious food, the rooms were spacious and clean.

Room was musty and smelled of mildew. Overall the quality of the food that I had during my stay was just alright, nothing to write home about. Was woken up twice during the middle of the night. Once by a maintenance worker pounding on my door (I did not request any service). The second time was the fire alarm going off. The check in process is slow and feels like everyone wants a tip. Do not recommend this particular Hyatt all inclusive.

A great spot!!
Second time here! Staff can’t do enough to make your stay the best it can be. Rooms are spotless, the bed and bedding is clean, fresh and crisp. The food was great with lots of variety and the best coffee at Coco 2.0. The beach was good, staff do everything they can to remove any seaweed. But keep in mind it is the ocean! A lovely fun place to get your holiday on!

Punta Can’t-a
Off the bat I will objectively state that the property (pool and beach) were very nice. After that….not so good. The service was embarrassing — inattentive, no sense of urgency and no apparent management or leadership. This was especially apparent in the restaurants and bars. The workers were not especially polite, seemed to ignore us and instead “pal-ed” around with their co-workers, often bordering on rude. On the first two days I said let’s give it a chance….but it persisted throughout the whole trip. As for the food….awful. Other than the Italian restaurant none of the food was good and/or was bad. Our room was fine other than the fact that despite photos showing furnishings…we had no chair, table or even drawers (I used an ironing board) to lay out my clothes but housekeeping was nice and efficient. All told, look elsewhere IMHO.
