The most AMAZING time, already wanting to go back
Spent 6 nights back in late June and can't say enough good things about Majestic Mirage! This was our first all-inclusive resort and we looked at dozens before we decided to stay here and we couldn't be happier. We read so many reviews for all types of resorts and had concerns over what people said was "the normal for all-inclusive" but wasn't at the Mirage after our experience. We did the Adults Only section with a swim-up suite. Well we will probably never be able to not do a swim up again as it was so nice to have. Didn't have to pack up a bag full of stuff to go to the pool, just to forget something and need to walk back to our room. And with the sargasum the way it was at the beach we pooled alot. We got a bag and two hats in our room on arrival which was great. There was a huge tub in the bath room (no privacy from the bedroom part of the room if that matters to you) and a jacuzzi on the patio (that we never got to use but really wanted to, just ran out of time). Room had great AC one in the living area and one in the bedroom. There a clothing steamer in the room, hair dryer, safe, etc. Hangers are a bit weird as you cannot remove them from the closet and have them hand else where (the hook doesn't come off the closet bar). I didn't use the in room toiletries but they were there and my partner enjoyed. Room was just perfect over all. Service was great. We were a bit confused on what a butler could do for us minus reservations for dinner/golf/spa and she got us our robes and slippers that were missing when we checked in. But maybe a list of what they could do would be helpful to some? But all service was great, bars, restaurant, check in and out, entertainment (animation) team, house keeping etc. Food was so good! This was one of things we were worried about from reading about 'normal things at all inclusive'. But we had nothing to worry about, maybe one hard piece of bread one night but there was more bread so it didn't matter. Everything was great. So many options. We loved the steakhouse (I come from a place known for their beef/steak and let me tell you they know how to cook a steak at the steakhouse!!) We went back a second time it was so good. Italian was good. French was good but for me this was the place that had limited options (I am a bit of a picky eater, an don't eat seafood, and I had to really work to make something work for me here). The teppanyaki was so good and fun (and not something I would normally do so I am impressed)! Buffet was great for all meals. The sea side place/buffet during the day wasn't for me for clear reasons but it had a unique selection. You only need reservations at 2 of the restaurants, which our butler had no trouble booking, and we other wise walked right into all other restaurants with no wait each night. Which is a huge difference we read from alot of other resorts. Cafe is great for a cool down (great AC) and a light snack or drink. Drinks were great! We tried lots of fun ones of others recommendations and see them be ordered, as well as tried some classics. My partner, who loves whiskey and is meh on rum, tried a bunch of rum on recommendation and fell in love with one so much we bought some at duty free to bring home. Oh and the club lounges at the end of each adult section near the beach were AMAZING. They had light snacks, towels, seating and coolers you could grab cold drinks out of like water bottles and pop. There were small lounges in between some of the buildings that had smaller selection, and no seating, but still nice. Pool was never busy feeling. There was always open loungers and space to spread out. With a swim up we were worried about people just being right on the other side of the pool from our room but there was enough space and it was chill that we never noticed. Only once did we see someone walking around taking drink orders but they were more so walking around to gather empty cups etc. So you do have to swim up to a bar to get a drink. One our first full day one of the employees was carrying around a floaty and offered it to us (we were going to buy one so this was a great savings) we used it all week, and got another one to, and then left them there. So make sure to look for abandoned ones before you buy them. Facilities were just as pictured online. They were well maintained and clean. Always empty seats to sit in near the bars, theater, plaza etc. Loved the lights over the plaza at night. Grounds are lush and stunning. Entertainment was pretty good overall. We got to see all the night shows minus Rock night and we would say MJ was probably the one we enjoyed the least (it just wasn't very good). But the other shows were totally worth it. We also LOVED the foam pool parties, and white night on the beach was AMAZING. The entertainment (animation) team was fun and energetic. Like I just want a foam party and white beach party to be part of my weekly life it is so good. I tell everyone about it. Sales... almost none! So we were never ever asked about or pressured into anything like a meeting or conversation for a timeshare or something of the sort. There were photographers walking around (that way over charge) but they quickly take no as an answer (these are not the people with the birds we heard they were pushy). There was once someone selling on the edge of the beach but they didn't push or pressure. There was also the resort people selling water activities at the beach, again a simple no thank you and they moved along. Then there was Dominican night where they bring in local vendors to sell their wares in the plaza. This was a the worst part. They were pushy, and graby and wouldn't take no very easily BUT you can avoid the area so just do that if you don't want that experience. There was some cool things but I don't like pushy sales people (I am in the retail industry and cannot stand sales like that). But otherwise it was so nice to never have to worry about this while there. Room keys are little bracelets they put on you at checkin and you cannot take off. I found this great (to not have to remember a room key) but also annoying when I tried to dress up for dinner and it just didn't got with the outfit. My stopped working twice, and my partners once, but we just wandered down the hall to the lounge and they got it fixed without us having to go all the way to the lobby. But overall it is good. Spa was almost perfect. Did a couples stress relief massage and a personal majestic chocolate body treatment. Both were amazing. It was the hydrotherapy circuit that wasn't for me (my partner did enjoy it more than me). It took to long (feels like we were forgotten about sometimes) and we had a bit of a situation with another couple being inappropriate in the steam room but that is not the resorts fault. Golf was a great inclusion to have! The course needs to be a bit more organized but that's a golf course thing and not a reflection of the resort. Oh, and PACK SUN SCREEN. More than you think you will need. Bottles were $34USD in the little shops. We brought a ton but noticed it when shopping around for a big hat for me. The shops are not associated with the hotel either so do not room charge. I think that is everything! I HIGHLY recommend this resort. I cannot say enough good things and every concern we had was proven wrong. We cannot wait to return.

Not as Majestic as it used to be.
This resort is not what it used to be. The service at this resort is generally good. Leonel, our Butler, was very good. The hotel was clean and the room was clean, but a little aged, since our last visit in 2019. The hotel amenities were not well maintained and the quality of the food decreased. The safe in our room broke twice and our AC did not work well, as it constantly made a whining sound. We traveled over 4th of July and they did do a fantastic job celebrating the 4th of July, complete with fireworks, as well. Bravo for that. The pools in the resort definitely seemed to age since we were last here in 2019. It was as if everything was frozen in time and not maintained. The food quality was not the best. Myself and another person I was traveling with got sick from something, which was determined to most likely be the onion soup from the Steakhouse. So for that reason, I can’t recommend this resort since I got sick. I got sick the last time I stayed here as well. Also, the icing at the treats in the coffee shop tasted like refrigerator or rancid. Overall, this resort is not what is used to be.

Relaxing family vacation in sunny Punta Cana
I visited Majestic Mirage from June 7-14 with my husband, 17-year old daughter and her 17-year old friend. Because the girls were under 18, we had to stay in the Family section. I booked two rooms to give them privacy. Upon arrival, at around 12:30pm, we were taken to the family club lounge for check-in. We were asked to have a seat and get a snack. We sat for about ½ hour waiting for some information. Eventually, someone came up to us and asked for our passports. Then nothing. It was the strangest, slowest process. Ultimately, after close to an hour, we were introduced to our butler, given wrist bands and told that we were given two rooms in building two, two doors down from each other. Surprisingly, they gave the girls one room with two beds, and my husband and I the other rooms with a king bed. I was a little stressed about how that would work out since the wrist bands were room keys but it worked out without us even asking. We were able to get into the rooms well ahead of the 3pm check-in, so we changed, had lunch and went to the pool. The rooms had a lot of space, which was very nice. A little worn but very clean. Very comfortable temperature. We overlooked the pool. When it was loud, it wasn’t a problem for us b/c it was during the day. There were two nights with weddings near the pool that were loud. By 11:00pm, they were over. Mini bar was filled daily. Service was average. I’ve been to resorts with better and worse service. The only areas that stood out were the plaza bar, main buffet and Steakhouse. Pool bartenders couldn’t be bothered. Entertainment team didn’t engage personally. Food was average. Again, we’ve had better and worse. Steakhouse was very good. We were rushed out of the hibachi. Italian and Seaside (which was extremely slow) were not good. Didn’t go to French. Sports bar was pretty good if you’re craving typical bar food. Main buffet was good. Always plenty of options to please us all. Great dessert options, including ice cream and candy. We all enjoyed the coffee bar. Got a lot of iced coffees and shakes and paninis were good, in lieu of going somewhere for lunch. Unfortunately, the beach had so much sargassum so we didn’t enjoy the beach at all. We stayed at the pool. The first two days we stayed by the family pool to be with the girls. The rest of the week we went to the adult pool (bldgs. 3-4). This was nice and quiet and we always found chairs. No pool service came around all week, but it was nice to swim/float down to the very end to the pool bar. Entertainment was not great. Sorry – I know they work very hard and they were talented, but again, we were constantly comparing to better resorts and this one was lacking. We walked over to Caribbean Street a couple of times and walked through the other two resorts. The Elegance had a great looking pool. We were going to book at the Elegance (and would have saved thousands), but with the kids, we couldn’t get club level there. The club level didn’t add a lot. The butler was very nice and checked in with us daily, but it probably wasn’t worth the thousands of extra dollars we paid for the Mirage. My husband did enjoy the upgraded liquors, though. The vendors on property (once/twice a week) were very aggressive. We had to use the urgent care clinic over at Elegance. We were very impressed by the service and attention they gave my daughter, who felt like she had strep throat. They hooked her up to an IV and gave her liquids, vitamin C and meds, plus meds and instructions to go. She felt much better walking out of there. They followed up the next day, which I appreciated. The resort was a great size and we lucked out with weather. Only rained one day from about 3-5pm. It probably rained overnight, too, but we had great sunny days, felt like low humidity, and nice breezes. The lobby was so comfortable at night. Overall, we had a great relaxing week. I went into the week knowing not to sweat the small stuff. Would I return? Probably not, but only because we’ve never visited a resort twice. There are probably only 1-2 that we would visit again. Too many great places out there! By the way people review this place, I was convinced that I would be hounded to write a review immediately. That was not the case, so I was grateful for that!
