  Jameel is amazing

  Jameel is a great fitness instructor- he was warm and welcoming in the gym and gave us a really hard bootcamp session! He definitely has an abundance of knowledge within the fitness industry and is a credit to the gym team. Thank you!

  Very attentive staff and good food. The shows, the beach and amenities made our stay amazing. The smoothies on the beach are worth the diamond club upgrade.

  AVOID AT ALL COSTS

  Although the resort grounds are nice, the food is decent, and the restaurant staff were friendly, this hotel feels more like a frat party than a quiet, tranquil beach escape. From loud concerts every night (there are no rooms in the resort where you don't hear the loud bass) to foam parties, this hotel does not provide R&R. I was also greeted by several bugs in my room. I tried to move rooms at night but I was told that no other rooms were available in my category. When I raised concerns about the noise, staff were rude and quick to belittle me by saying that the hotel was branded as a "party resort." Perhaps the Royalton website is more transparent, but the Marriott website is very misleading. The noise was so bad that I left early after one night. I am seriously re-thinking my lifelong loyalty to Marriott after this terrible experience.

  Warm Staff & Spa, But Overall the Resort Misses the Mark

  We recently stayed at Royalton Antigua and had a mixed experience. The absolute highlight was the staff—friendly, attentive, and always eager to help. Special shoutout to Coniah, our Diamond Club butler, who went above and beyond every day. He was the best part of the Diamond Club, which otherwise felt pretty lackluster. The “exclusive” perks didn’t match the price tag—lackluster beach area, average lounge, and minimal extras. The spa was a true gem. I had a wonderful experience, and as a plus-size woman, I really appreciated that they had a robe that actually fit. That kind of inclusivity is rare and made a big impact. On the downside, the resort needs renovations—rooms and public areas are worn, and maintenance is overdue. The food was underwhelming with limited variety and several instances where basic things (like menu items or even straws) were simply unavailable. A lot of food was from foxem, like crab cakes. You expect fresh seafood in the Caribbean. Apparently is known amongst the staff that the head chef buys cheap food items. It’s a solid spot for families with young kids, but if you're bringing teens or young adults, there’s very little for them to do. No nightlife, no programming for older kids, and not much action after dinner. Bottom line: Amazing staff and a great spa, but the resort infrastructure and amenities don’t live up to the Royalton brand. Worth it for a chill family trip—just manage your expectations. Definitely not for anyone who is a foodie.

  Disappointing Experience at a Resort That Doesn’t Match the Hype!

  We stayed at the Royalton Antigua in May–June 2025, having booked what was advertised as a TUI Platinum 5-star holiday with exclusive Diamond Club benefits. Unfortunately, the experience we received fell well short of expectations in several key areas. ❌ Misleading Booking Experience Before travel, the resort was downgraded by TUI from their Platinum collection to a lower-tier offering, yet we were not informed. No option to cancel or amend was provided, despite paying a premium for top-tier service and amenities. 🏨 Room & Maintenance Issues Our room fell short of 5-star standards — a broken balcony lock, inadequate lighting, holes in the shower wall, and missing fixtures made the space feel neglected. Housekeeping was sporadic and often missed basic details. ⚠️ Safety Concerns There were several worrying safety issues: dangerously hot walkways that caused burns, loose or missing pool tiles (we witnessed a child injured), and inoperative emergency lighting in stairwells. 🍸 Diamond Club Disappointment The Diamond Club perks were underwhelming or unavailable. A hydrotherapy session included in our package was cancelled twice, and many advertised drinks and services at the bars were missing or poorly delivered. Staff seemed overwhelmed and undertrained, through no fault of their own. 📲 Poor Customer Support Attempts to address issues during our stay via the TUI app went unanswered. A manager meeting was missed, and any resolution offered felt conditional and inadequate. Following our trip, our complaint process with TUI was slow and unhelpful. Their offer? A modest holiday voucher — not nearly reflective of the issues raised. Bottom Line: While the setting of the Royalton Antigua is beautiful, the service and standards did not live up to the promise. If you're booking expecting a luxurious 5-star experience, especially under a premium package like TUI’s Diamond Club or Platinum tier, be aware that your experience may not reflect what's advertised. This was a once-in-a-lifetime holiday for us, and it didn’t deliver. Hopefully, this review helps others make an informed decision.
