What a Shame!
Just arrived today...where to start? Tried twice to get a pool towel (there are none available. "TRY to get one tomorrow morning at 8am" they say). Tried for 2 frozen drinks...nope. Buffet is as hot as a sauna. The heat & bad food literally sickened me. No reservations at anything other than the buffet available for my entire stay. There are bees everywhere?! If you wait in line at the beach bar you get bombarded. They land on your burger and fries. They walk along the rim of your drink. Haven't found a non-rocky part of the ocean out past my ankles yet. My feet are getting smashed up! The beach is beautiful (however trash and seaweed cleanup do not appear to be priorities). I haven't had high expectations for any resort and all that I've been to have "wowed" me. NOT this one infortunately...I was not expecting this at all.

Wonderful place
This has changed the way we vacation from now on. It was our first all inclusive and will never go back, the people were as friendly, The service was great, nothing about this trip was bad, we had an ocean view room it we the best, the on site snorkeling was great there is a reef in the corner of the swimming area. Worth every penny spent.

DO NOT STAY HERE
DO NOT GO HERE Spend a little extra money and actually enjoy your vacation. The issues.... The island experiences rolling blackouts during the summer meaning, randomly for hours your room will not have AC. When I tried to talk to the front desk about this the manager, Alejandra Ramirez, laughed at me multiple times. The food is horrid. It's nearly impossible to get a reservation at any of the restaurants and you're forced to eat at the fly infested buffet that does not have any air conditioning. The food at the buffet looks like dog food. I survived off potato chips and bread. The breakfast buffet is not ready when it opens. Bacon and sausage usually doesn't get rolled out until about 9am. Frozen drinks aren't ready until mid-afternoon. The service is absolutely awful. If you ask employees for something they give you a nasty look. We were told, 'theres no ketchup, it's on the truck for today'. I was also told by someone they had no hot sauce, when I asked somebody else they went and got it for me. This is the only resort I've been to where you do not get bottles of water. The front desk gave my pregnant wife a hard time about asking for a water bottle, even though the water in the bathroom is not drinkable. The rooms are old and dirty. Things around the resort are broken and just caution taped off, including the pool stairs and half of the 8 or so umbrellas at the pool. Bottom line, go somewhere else and enjoy your vacation.

Don’t question it, just book it!!
I was very skepticle of booking here because of the reviews and the star rating however I am glad I booked! When we first got there, I almost regretted it because how the rooms were, not clean enough to my liking but then slowly realized that’s the only issue I had! The hotel is amazing! Love that it’s fun and u can move around from one place to another so easily! The beach is stunning, happy that they clean the seaweed almost every morning! The pool is big and nice and the entertainment at night is super fun! The shows are actually good and the ice coffee at the main bar is delicious! Was able to book restos, the Mexican one is a must try ! U won’t be disappointed! The nachos and Marguerita’s are really good! If you walk down the left side of the beach, atleast 20min, you will get to banana bay where the water is turquoise and it reached to your knees!! And if you walk about 10min on the right side of the beach, you can get to feed and meet some pigs for about 35$US Really recommend! You will not regret your stay at this hotel!

Disappointed with Service & Accommodations
We were truly looking forward to a relaxing anniversary getaway, but unfortunately, our stay at Viva Fortuna Beach Resort left us disappointed from start to finish. The accommodations are clearly dated and in need of refurbishment. Despite booking and confirming a Superior King Room for our anniversary, we were given a room with two double beds after a 2-hour wait to check in and another 90 minutes before our room was ready. When we addressed the issue at the front desk, we were told King rooms were unavailable—but we could try again the next day. We followed up the next day, only to hear the same message. The next available “follow-up” was for our last day. At that point, the gesture felt meaningless. Seeking resolution, I called corporate customer service twice and was disconnected both times after waiting on hold for 20 minutes. That level of inaccessibility and lack of follow-through reflects poorly on the resort’s commitment to guest satisfaction. Additionally, while the resort advertises several restaurant options, reservations were limited based on the number of nights you were staying at the resort. This left us stuck with the mediocre buffet for the majority of our stay—not exactly the romantic dining experience we’d hoped for from an all-inclusive resort. While the location is situated on a beautiful beach, the disregard for confirmed bookings and lack of service recovery from guest services, management and corporate make this an experience we won’t repeat. I'm so glad I didn't waste my time attending a Viva Club presentation. I do NOT recommend Viva Wyndham Resorts for couples or travelers looking for attentive service and a memorable vacation.
