Rooms need MAJOR update!

The beach and views were worth the money! The staff was exceptional and the food was very good! We did all inclusive, we would highly recommend that if you stay here. The rooms need a MAJOR overhaul. Bedding was mediocre and the shower tiles almost made us not want to take a shower! If you want hot showers, don't count on them. At one point, there was someone's trash in the hallway for almost 48 hours. It wasn't garbage but it was trash! The front desk staff was very accommodating and went out of the way to be helpful with transportation and airport shuttles. The bugs after sundown were biting, but they have plenty of bug repellent for you. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation with some beautiful experiences. Flew over to St Thomas and sosna helicopter tour, took the Carribean sea snorkel tour over to Buck Island, both worth the added expense.

Nice resort

Nice resort, a little on the older, more laid back type. Very relaxing and restful. Good food. The only negative is the tipping situation.

Don't waste your money!!

First impression:The welcome was very sad. Staff seemed like they were miserable. No one helped with our luggage. "Here's you keys and a package to read". " Go to the welcome briefing at 10 every morning if you want more information." The resort is VERY dated, from the pools to the rooms and the weak entrainment. Not kid friendly, a very small pool, mini golf up the street & a casino. NOTHING more to do! If ALL you want to do is relax, I STILL wouldn't recommend this resort. So much potential, but as of today, 1 April 2017, I would not recommend this resort. No variety in restaurants, either buffet or pizza. You eat on THEIR schedule. I'm on vacation, I would like to eat whenever I wake, not rush to breakfast before 10:30 to find they had run out to some foods and NOT replace since it was so close to the end of breakfast. The locals come on Thursday nights to dine. As a paying resident, I should not have to stand around waiting for a seat I paid for in advance with an "all inclusive" package. The females are VERY flirty with the men. Very disrespectful, we stopped going to dinner to avoid them. Don't waste your money, it could be spent much better. Beautiful view of the beach is the only thing I appreciated on this 5 day vacation.

Needs Work

First of all, let me start by saying that the staff was wonderful. They were all very nice, from the wait staff to the maids, we thought they were all great. Also, we loved the little casino. However, I will not be returning to the Divi, unless they make some major updates and get better food and drinks. I went the all-inclusive route (this is the only one on the island) because it just seemed like the best deal. It would have been worth it to pay more and eat elsewhere. The food ranged from mediocre to terrible. Our first night there they had an "Italian night" with food that was barely edible. Nothing was fresh, everything was over-cooked, it was very disappointing. Also, from their website we got the impression there were multiple restaurants... that is NOT the case. There is only one and they serve either upstairs or downstairs, then there is a pizza place out back that is closed part of the week, and finally the "restaurant" at the casino is just a snack bar. We ended up taking the shuttle to Christenstead a few nights to get some real, good, Caribbean food. The drink were also hit or miss, and they didn't have a huge selection, for example I couldn't get a mojito. Also, they kept closing the bigger beach bar early. It was nice to sit out there at night, but the last 4 nights we were there they closed it at 5pm. Some other cons - hot tub was out of service, rooms could use updating (although they were clean), and the shuttle they offer (at a fee) to Christianstead ended at 3:40pm. My husband and I had a wonderful time on our honeymoon, the island of St Croix is absolutely beautiful and we would love to return... just probably not to Divi.
