Great family trip...

Overall our trip went very well. The resort is beautiful, very well kept and HUGE! The size of the resort was a bit of an issue, waiting for the right tram to get to where we wanted to go was frustrating at times. Check in was a breeze and the cold drink that was handed to us was perfect! I was pleasantly surprised with the dining choices all week. Our three reserved dinners were all excellent (Mikado, La Gran Tortuga and Cozumel) and the buffets offer many choices. There are signs everywhere saying to NOT reserve pool chairs and we found that if we got to the pool after 9am there was nowhere to relax in the shade (or the sun for that matter). Many times we just had to find a spot to leave our towels so we could swim. This was frustrating, but I got up one morning at 5am, took our towels out and saved a nice spot! The swim up bars were always busy so more than one bartender would be nice. All the staff members were friendly and helpful, somewhat of a language barrier at times but we adjusted well. Housekeeping was on point, the bed was a bit hard but comfy. The beach is quite a distance from the resort but it was nice, a little rocky in spots but we enjoyed swimming and snorkeling. Overall a great experience for our first all inclusive trip.

Great family location

My family and I (5 Total) went in mid-July to Grand Bahia for 4 nights. The service was 1st class. The buffet was great for all our meals. The only disappointing point was 4 nights only gives you 2 preferred dinner options, the rest of meals are in the buffet. By 4th day we were getting tired of the buffet. I only gave the room 3 stars due to the temperature. The AC just couldn't get it cool. My guess is the room was in the mid to upper 70's most of the time. If you don't go during the hot times, you should be fine. They kept the room clean and had extras with a coffee maker and 2 bottles of water daily. The location was great for visting Tulum ruins. Overall we had a great time and would go again.

So so service

In general, this resort is OK. However, our check-in process was bumpy. We came to one of their lobbies, and they sent us to another (same resort!) lobby for registration. The room for 3 people had only ONE king-size bed and a sofa for 3rd person; they say they do not have other options. Air conditioner worked so-so, toilet and bathroom sink slow, and in the middle of night a shower stand dropped into the bath tub. That was loud. Next day after some argument I moved to another room. Also one bed, but at least AC etc. worked fine. Beach is not immediately accessible, you must ride a trolley there. On the plus side, this resort is in the middle of jungle. One can see some wildlife there, exotic birds and animals. Clear water on the beach, some fish to watch.
