Nowhere near a 4 or 5 star resort

I had a lot of problems, but the Management isn't willing to work to help you resolve them in a timely manner. Out of 6 days, we had no hot water 2 days and no cold water 2 days, so it makes for not so good showers. The Adult only section is a joke and there is a lot of noise from construction at the neighboring resort starting at 6:30 am along with a clouds of dust. They don't work to move you right away and you are lucky if they do. We was there to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, but they don't try to do anything to help you unless you are willing to folk over more money. I tried to book the Oriental Restaurant on Sunday for my Anniversary on Monday April 10th, but was told that I couldn't unless I purchase a bottle of wine from them, if not I would have to wait until after 4pm on Monday to see if I could be lucky enough to get a reservation for that night. Starting at checking you are bombarded by people constantly begging you to attend their Vacation Club presentation and despite a firm no, they are all over the property ruining your vacation. The good: I think that this property is better suited for families and not adults wishing to enjoy their special dates. They have a good kid club and beautiful pool with water slides and stuff for little children. They have 4 pools for families and one adult only pool, however children do cross the cobblestone path to the adult pool and bar. They have nightly shows for families and a small bowling alley with 6 lanes, but it is hard to get to bowl because the families are always there. It is not enough lanes for a property with 945 rooms, but the Adult section only has 192 rooms, so there is no where for adults to just be adults. The Bad again: The Adult pool and bar shutdown at 6pm, so you have to go way to the front to the lobby bar to get a drink after 6. They have a piano bar at night, but there are parents in there with their children and the teens take over the disco and their bar at night It is suppose to be a new property but there is a lot of shoddy work and a lot of water issues. A number of people fell from their flip flops or shoes getting caught in the rock making up the walking path. One young lady had a black eye, chip tooth, bruises over her face from one of those falls and another hurt her foot. The problems with the water, poor food quality, long waits, and lack of experience on the part of the staff can be fixed, but the attitude of the management will not make people want to return to this property. I personally will never return to this property nor will I stay at any H10 resort after this experience. It is a beautiful property but they have a lot to fix to reach 4 or 5 star status. The sad thing is that the Mexican Restaurant was one of the worse around. I got better food at a small place in La Playa.

Room for improvement

As a new resort, they have many things they would improve, many of which are related to the fact that they are understaffed. I'm not a big drinker, but I do like to enjoy a couple casual cocktails before and with dinner. That was not happening at this place. Forget ordering a drink with dinner. And to get one before an evening dinner required a hike to one of the main bars, and at least a 10 minute wait to get served. Then, the hike back to where you plan to eat. There should be at least self serve wine (which was sub par) and self serve beer. Even getting anything to drink with your meal was difficult because they do not have self serve drinks-- yet. The beach is pretty small. I don't like having to pay one of the workers every day to secure us a couple lounge chairs so that we don't have to scramble for one early in the morning. By 11 am they are all "claimed" And what is with not giving us a room key for each person? They use plastic key cards, yet insisted that they could only give us 2 cards for our room of 4. Strange. Long waits for food at some of the eating places made meal time more difficult than it should be. Overall the food was ok, but I've had much better at other all- inclusives.

a little dissappointed

The resort is beautiful, but understaffed still, Hard to get ice in any restaurant felt like I had to beg and chase down staff all the time for Ice. Check in was mostly easy but rep who checked us in (no name tag) his pants were unbuttoned and halfway unzipped, very unprofessional in my opinion. also disappoint in transfer company Cheap Caribbean uses Cancun airport was smooth but return was far from easy, told to go to hotel lobby and talk to guy in flower shirt, did that confirmed Friday pick up, was told to double check Thursday show up Friday 2 people in our party were not on the list. I believe if Cheap Caribbean set all of this up I should not have to waste time walking to lobby to confirm you know what my flight times are and where I need to go put a note under my door and let me know what time to be ready. Restaurants are not bad except they do not have same cleaning rules we have in states ex.( watched multiple bartenders clean glasses they clean mouth part with sponge never dipping in sanitary water between glasses and then barely rinse them. My husband watched a cook at outside snack bar dip pork with bare hands then someone asked for sushi (which they cut and handle for you) he only wiped his hands on a towel just sitting there never actually washing his hands with soap. Trip wasn't terrible but would not return to Mexico at all.
