All Inclusive Trip - Ocean Riviera Paradise Resort

Restaurants: The Amaranto, Blue Moon Restaurants, & Ice Cream Parlor were very good. The food was always prepared well and fresh. The Villa Marina was closed for a week; La Locanda's food was tasteless, Sakura Japanese Restaurant had no menu and you could only have chicken, beef and shrimp, Route 66 American Cuisine was below average, Margarita was notoriously slow (we were seated for 54 minutes in a half empty restaurant and our food still didn't arrive), Steak House was the biggest disappointment of all with the ribeye cut in half and the vegetables were 1/5 the size of a normal portion. Grounds: I didn't know the pavement was literally not complete. We were constantly tripping over bricks, sand and uneven pavement due to foundation issues. Customer Service: Some servers had attitudes when you asked them for drinks or to clean up a messy area (unprofessional). Construction Zone: I was on the third floor and not one day passed without being disturbed by painters and new construction for a hotel within 20 yards of our room (constant banging and delivery trucks early in the morning).

Great Vacation

Me and family just enjoyed 7 days at ORP, I was concern with all the bad reviews that I read before our trip. I really dont know what those people were writing about, as I was there I kept asking my wife where were all the bad things people were complaining about?! Because the resort is great, the food is great, service was great and we had a great time. Our only complaint was the beach, the water was beautiful but thats about it, once you go in the water there are rocks EVERYWHERE there is not one spot where you can enjoy the beautiful warm water. Whoever owns this resort should look into removing all those rocks, because that is a deal breaker, as much as we loved our trip and the resort, we wont be going back because of the rocky beach, if they want to stay relevant this is a MUST do, because a family like mine that loves the beach and the water wont be going back to this beautiful resort and spend thousands of dollars to swin on a beach where you cant walk in the water without stumbling on a rock. But overall great resort, clean, great food, staff and entertainment, but the the rocks in the beach breaks the deal.

When it says "NEW" Beware, this resort is NOT NEW!

Per our conversation a few minutes ago I am following your instructions and sending a recap of the issues we had while vacationing at the Ocean Riviera Paradise in Mexico. I have booked with Cheap Caribbean over the years without issue, this time was different. The main reason I booked at this resort was because it was advertised as new and as you can see in my past travels to Mexico and Costa Rica we have booked new 3 out of the last 4 times. My family likes the fresh environment a new resort provides, so we locked in and started off on our vacation. When we arrived at the Resort all seemed well, the people were friendly, another reason we love Mexico. We were assigned our room and that is when it started to go downhill. The room had issues, none that I will go into detail for because that room is not why I am writing. I immediately went to the front desk and complained to find there were no better rooms available that day and I would have to wait a day or so. The following day I was informed there was an ocean front master suite but it would cost me an upgrade of $300 a night or $1,500 for the time we would be there. I wanted my wife and son happy so I paid for this upgraded room which I was promised would be excellent! We arrived in the room to find this… 1. Mold on the ceiling in master bedroom 2. The bamboo swing on the porch fell out of the ceiling while my wife was in it hurting her back and ruining that evening 3. Bathroom handles broken off in master bath for main door 4. Dresser drawers would not close 5. Refrigerator did not work 6. My sons bathroom door could not be opened once he closed it, we had to let him out 7. My sons sleeper sofa made loud noises, I mean loud like something was broken in the unit 8. Weather stripping for the sliding doors was peeling back to the middle of the door 9. The walls were buckling in the master bedroom 10. The counter top holding the refrigerator was spitting apart 11. The vanity base in the master bathroom was falling apart 12. To be picky…The ceiling drywall in my “Master Suite” was not finished well at all! I did not say a word to management when we took over the new room as we had already spent plenty of vacation time complaining and moving from room to the next. I did however finally complain again when the bamboo hammock fell out of the ceiling with my wife in it hurting her in the process. I then had to go to the main office multiple times to finally have someone come with me to our room to inspect the damage and take a report. I received a message to come to the front desk of which the person was not there. The next day I finally got in front of someone who was only offering ½ back of our upgrade fee and wanted us to sign a waiver. I tried to explain this was not right but with the her broken English I just gave up. They are supposed to be crediting my credit card and were supposed to have a receipt for me when we departed at 7:20am, of course they had no receipt. I did make the girl in the office write something out saying this would be processed. The long and short of it is I am not happy, I could have gone straight to your website/ all travel sites and posted this review but I want to give all involved a chance to make this right. I have attached pictures for your review and I am an email and or phone call away. I anxiously await a response…

Beautiful resort with some flaws!

The resort and accommodations were beautiful, however, the food and ocean access at the beach had a lot to be desired. This is a family friendly resort, which as a solo, single traveler, I chose on purpose. There is a lot to do! Water park, club, bars, bowling alley, movie theatre, coffee shop, ice cream shop plus so much more. There are a lot of pool options, family friendly or adults only. This resort has a lot to offer! Overall the service was excellent, excluding the hard sell sales people for activities and premium packages. Everyone was friendly and warm. I never had a concern for my safety. My negatives are: the food and the ocean access at the beach. The food, excluding The Bluemoon restaurant for breakfast, was not that great. 2 restaurants were closed and the Sakura Restaurant needed reservations, in which you had to go and wait in line to make so I did not attempt that. Who wants to wait in line on vacation? Not me. La Locanda Restaurant dinner was not great and room service food was no good. Margarita did have some good eats and the El Baso bar has some decent snacks. Also the ocean access. There were rocks in the entrance that made it difficult to navigate. This detered me from going into the ocean more than the one attempt. Other than those two elements, which food is a big deal, this resort is a get your bang for your buck! I did completely enjoy my stay and would stay here again given the chance as it would offer possible a family trip with nieces and nephews, etc as well as friend trip a great time!
