Worse vacation I have ever taken

Our trip was terrible from day one. Getting the AmStar representative to give us a moment of his time so we could get to our resort was the first disaster. That was just the start of our long waits. We got to the resort and waited forever to check in with only two people checking in a lobby full of people. Finally a third person comes to help and she takes the people behind us who hadn't even been waiting long. We get to the counter and we're introduced to the first of the rude staff. Once we get to our room we discover two full size beds instead of two queens. Despite all of this we decide we are going to still do our best to enjoy ourselves but that was hard with a snowball effect of disappointments. First I try to confirm our transportation back as we were told to do. Only 2 staff memebere were there. One with a family who took hours of their time. I finally get to the other staff member and he tell me one minute as he left for 10 mins with someone who just walked up. No apology for the wait or nothing. All the dining places were below average at best and every buffet (breakfast/lunch/dinner) we went we could eat twice before we were even asked for our drink order and your water glass to be filled. Meanwhile we watched others who came in after us get drinks. Used towels laid around the dirty pool for hours but the new towels would run out often and no replacement for hours. That was the same with items at the buffet. Two days in a row the hot water went out and the sewage smell was terrible. Not to mention the numerous tripping or slipping hazards but this is a kid friendly resort. I hate wasting my money and I feel like this was a large waste.

Cozumel

Was our first trip to Mexico. I took a shot with CC.com. I could not be more pleased with the service I recieved from CC.com! It was everything that Mia and Terry told me it would be! If traveling to the Caribbean again I will NEVER use another service other than CC.com!! Airport tip. Upon arrival head straight outside with your paperwork. DO NOT STOP inside the airport. Very aggressive but friendly timeshare (Vacation club) pitch. Just would not take "no" for an answer. LEARN SOME SPANISH!! Basic stuff. Do Not go to the opposite side of the island to eat! Eat at resort or the more commercial side. We were on an all inclusive resort but we wanted to eat 1 lunch off property. We chose wrong based on a recommendation made to us by the timeshare marketing person. Probably his cousins place. ;) I should have known better. We had an AWESOME TIME!! 5 nights/6 days was not long enough. 4.2 stars!!! 5 stars for CheapCaribbean.com!! The photo is the ciew from our balcony. Next to pool and ocean!! Be sure to see the Mayan ruins! Jeep rental was reasonable. $104 for 24 hours. Bring some immodium AD. Need I explain? Hope this helps!

Great vacation!

I was very pleased with the resort. Everyone was so nice and everything was clean. The rooms are a bit outdated but nothing new curtains couldn't fix.

Great Value & Great Beach!

Pros: Overall, this was a great little weekend getaway for the price. Great value and the beach was gorgeous! My husband and I did some snorkeling right off the beach of the resort and saw lots of beautiful fish, sting rays, and large starfish! Tip: the rays and some of the larger fish like to hang around the dock/pier - check them out! We loved the feel of the resort and the fact that they were cute little villas rather than one large hotel building. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and the air conditioning was great! Cons: On the flip side, the dining choices were pretty limited and not great. Also, the alcohol choices were pretty awful. I like Malibu rum and of course they didn't have it. They use cheap liquor and the drinks don't taste very good. Also, they don't blend them very well so you end up with chunks of ice in your frozen drinks. Another shocker for us was that they don't have straws. I can understand why (as far as litter getting in the ocean) but it made it nearly impossible to drink the frozen drinks. If you like straws, I'd recommend bringing a few hard plastic ones that you can wash and reuse. The service was hit or miss. Nothing terrible but nothing extraordinary either. Also, we rented a jeep from the hotel to explore the island and it was a complete piece of garbage! The floorboards and the gear shift got really hot and the jeep was so rusted that part of the roll cage was unattached and was annoyingly loud while driving, not to mention it didn't have seat belts and was very unsafe. This was a green jeep, so avoid it if you can! Lol As I said, overall, it was a fun trip for the money and we had a great time. We would go back but we'd definitely bring our own straws and our own liquor! We'd also avoid that old green jeep lol

Great Value & Great Beach! Great Value & Great Beach!
