Excellent and Fancy resort Exceeded R expectations

Hi everyone, I would like to start on how we get to this resort, we booked the overnight flight since that was the only availbale flight, no direct fight from SFO to DENVER CO,it was 13 hrs fight . That the only down side the flight options arent that good at the time we book it but keep in mind we booked our trip 2 weeks before our vacation.(unplanned vacation) When we get to the airport Armstar guy welcomed us, told us to wait and talk to the guys that was waiting for us and while the driver was waiting for us and the other guys too our luggages, there was one guy who aproached us, mind you we thought they are also a ARMSTAR guys, the transprotation company that we booked to take us to the hotel and to drop us to the airport. They will ask you to sign up or will force you to do the almost whole day BS or presentation fr the timeshare. my husband gave 20 usd for like sort of fee to make sure we will get our 200 voucher which we really didn get and we didnt plan to go to. So we basically wasted that 20 bucks, so dont make that mistake, NEVER EVER talk to people about going to a party to get a 200/ 170 each voucher, just say NO or let me think about it. Then when the guy who took our luggages finally get back to us who siad "wait here"to guide us to the VAN he said did u guys give 20 bucks to that guy? You shouldnt give anything. I was like really u guys made it seems like u are all together.... So i was kinda irritated about it .... SO ignore all the guys at the airport except if u really have to talk to them regarding your trip but dont give any money.Coz we wasted it we didnt go for the timeshare we dont have time for it. At the hotel everything was perfect the location, the resort, the restaurant, the food, their pools, 12 floor is really nice we upgrade to enjoy all their ammenities. The only down side was they have all this"upgrade menus, drinks,or romantic dinner" when u supposed to enjoy everything and all the ammenities even we paid for the upgrade to access the 12th floor, u also have to pay for the wine, champagne, romantic dinner, and other stuff. Other than the upgrades i would say everything are great, the customer service was great, drinks are great, this place is very fancy and for honeymooners and for weddings, but you will also see single people if they are there for weddings or jsut to celebrate bdays or some family affair. I love their pools, the interior design and the ebach is really nice. Always bring cash or change, we gave ips here and there 5-10usd depends on what we ate or what service we got. Always get the extra excursion OUTSIDE or when u get to Mexico its really cheap outside the hotel if you just walk aroud outside the hotel u can get cheaper prices for excursions. we booked chinchen itza here online bu it was double the price. the second excursion we did was the jungle tour in Marina Barracuda and it was great "its one of the best" only $60,their and chinchen is only 70/80 if u book it outside cheap carribean.Again shop around and please dont say yes to the 1st price try to bargain especially for gift, or souvenirs. If they say its only 70 pesos say ull buy it for 35pesos. always half of the price :) it works trust me. Restaurants: Perubian, Asian, American which is their sports bar and resto,Italian at 12 floors the best try all their Italian resto.Mexican is okay. Room service: its really good we ordered bunch of food hehehe make sure u order an hr before u want to eat it takes 45-50mins. Buffet is really great too the breakfast buffet is better than room service. I love the lounge bar its fun to go there but when we were there they are playing same songs and Despacito over and over hahahahha but we had so much fun. We stayed at a JUNIOR ste preffered club "upgrade" it was pretty and we have ocean view ,2523 room u can see Hard rock hotel and Sandos, PERFECT VIEW:) Beach: i woud rate the beach 4.5 out of 5.0 the current was too strong when we were there from JUNE 13-17 20017. But it was swimmable u still enjoy the sun the sand and the beach but the waves are strong for me. its not calm at all. Its good if u have boogie board or if u want to surf or if u have kayaks:) Reminders: souvenirs or where to shop: you have to go to the outlet they re cheaper OUT LET is the place to go for gifts for your friends and family. the food at the bar close to the beach on the right side if you're facing the beach is not very good. Manatees? bar i think, however their drinks are great fruity drinks are very refreshing. Chinchen Itza is a must but the humidity is really bad, bring umbrella from your tour guide AND lots of water. Jungle tour Marina Barracuda is a must too. You will see statues in the ocean if u snorkel. you will also able to driv your own lil boat. They also have drones to take videos and pictures of the entire excursion bring your own drinks esp beer or alcohol its epensive there. And cash to tip your guide. Very windy be careful if u want to wear your hat my SO hat's was flown away :( Lots of sunblock I also recommend to bring your own mask for snorkeling if you scuba dive if u have your own gear, what they have are just the cheap kinds, but its just me being picky and scuba dive:) Bring cash for tips trust me they will treat u like king and queen:) Remeber its all inclusive try to order more and different kinds of food becoz their servings are smaller than regular dining place. BUT their food are really great. Our stay all in all is 4.8 if theres no upgrades and more info from the buttler that will explain all we need and what we can get in and out of the resort it will be better, but of course they dont have time for that hahaha. Just ask them ask around especially the locals abt places you want to explore google it or watch it on youtube before you book this trip. It was unplanned vacation but we had a great time. I love staying in our hotel becoz we got everything we needed:) People that stood out: Daniella server at the lounge bar Antonio server at the Italian resto, and Eduardo our buttler. Others are just okay but still nice. PLEASE pick this resort if you love to relax at a fancy resort this is the place to go. Thanks to all the staff of Secret the Vine and cheapcaribbean for making OUR HONEY MOON memorable!!!

First time in Cancun

I picked this hotel based off positive reviews. I love how everyone was very accommodating from finding an ATM (helping me understand exchange rates), getting accurate pricing info to another resort in which I was attending a wedding, getting me a taxi to take me to Playa del Carmen for the wedding to getting me a pass to Breathless (AM Resorts sister property). The breakfast dining/cafe was AH-MAZING!!!! My view from my room (located on the 20th floor) was beautiful. Upon arriving my room, I had issues with the air conditioner being extremely cold (60°). After adjusting the temperature several times (70°-75°) and realizing no change, I called room service. The first time maintenance came to fix/adjust the issue which helped. Then, the next day, at 6am another maintenance person came to fix the air conditioner again (I didn't call maintenance). I informed the second maintenance person, the refrigerator wasn't cold, as a result, he moved the refrigerator out the cabinet over to an empty space next or its original location. The fridge still didn't get cold. I requested to have a wake up call at 10am, which never happened nor did anyone come to my door. Overall, my experience was good and I would definitely would go back.

What's to Love

Being greeted with cold towels and champagne - a refreshing way to remove that travel gunk and get vacay-ing.

The luxurious, chic architecture (sleek, white, boxy) that awakens your inner rock star.

Divine suites (think Architectural Digest) with private balconies or terraces boasting stunning vistas of teal surf.

Some rooms have double rain shower heads. (You'll feel like royalty).

Stress-busting, melt-into-the-sand spa that offers side-by-side couples massages on the beach.

The Seaweed Wrap (all that messy stuff that washes up on the beach is good for something).

Private concierges and butlers are available - you can really milk this whole royalty thing if you want.

Secrets box for private room service delivery - you don't ever have to see a human if you don't want to.

It's Foodie Friendly: there are gluten-free items on the menu, wine (3,000 + labels) and tequila tastings, and more.

If you upgrade to the Preferred Club, there's a plethora of Mediterranean delicacies to be had at Olio, a hot grub spot.

What We'd Change

Bars on the property close at 1am or earlier--a challenge for dedicated night owls. If you're hankering for some fun until the sun's up, legendary Cancun nightlife is only a short cab ride away.

Why You Should Go

Only 15 minutes away from the airport - you'll be there before you blink any eye to start the margaritas and shots.

Swimming with the darling dolphins is near at Isla Mujeres.

Cabs to downtown Cancun for your evening festivities are pricey - there are buses available for just a buck.

Get up early to reserve the coveted, dreamy cabanas - they go quickly.

Upgrade to Preferred Club, get better rooms, a private pool, and exquisite desserts/fine liquors and more.

For adventure buffs (or those with crippling sunburns), Mayan Ruins are not far away.

13 Golf Courses (your lucky 13) are near for your latent Tiger Woods.

Food at the airport is high (seems they're quite proud of their average fare), so pack your own superior snacks.

There's deep-sea fishing, horseback riding & Euro-bungee (you're a human slingshot, but you don't go flying off into space).

Cigar rolling (don't tire yourself out!), dance lessons and much more - the list goes on and on.
