Great Value for budget travelers. Lots of fun!

Pool is great and there was room for everyone even though the resourt was full. Beach was clean and plenty of room there as well. Beds are hard just like all RIUs but I like that because I have a bad back. Room was the regular room and it was a little dirty. There was a hair ball in the shower. They refilled the room water and beer each day which was very nice. Food was better than the RIU I've stayed at in Cabo and Jamica but is still not 5 star by any means. Overall, great place for the price!!

Look elsewhere.

Booked this trip in January based solely on the price and boy do you get what you pay for. Food- Think budget buffet. Breakfast was in point but lunch and dinner were just awful. Poor cuts of meat at steakhouse, spongey chicken fajitas at the Mexican restaurant, bland food at the Asian restaurant. The smell of fried food filled the lobby from lunch until well past dinner time and not in a good way. You'll have to leave the resort if you want a decent meal. There is a 24hr sports bar that advertises that it has snacks...the snacks consist of deli sandwiches, cold hotdogs and burgers along with stale nachos and something that is supposed to resemble nacho cheese. Bar-The bartenders did well & could make just about anything you asked for but their selection of spirits was bottom shelf. Beer was cold and delicious. Mixed drinks were watered down. Order you drink straight up and mix it yourself if you want something with a little kick behind it. Pool- The pools are great, very clean and a great temperature. The pool chairs fill up quick so make sure you get there early. There are daily activities at each pool that move around. So if you want to lounge peacefully you'll have to rotate areas to escape. Beverage service is irregular though the bars are not a far walk from your seats. There is a pool off to the side that is usually pretty quiet though the staff use that as a service path so the sounds of carts and trash bins being moved is pretty constant. The Beach- The beach has tons of seats but same deal get there early to get a good one. The beach could use a cleaning for sure. Between the cigarette butts and straws the beach is not great for little ones. The Room- We booked a ocean view room and that's what we got technically. You could indeed see the ocean from our room, but also the service area of the hotel next door. The beds were an odd size not quite full and not quite a twin. The bathroom was clean and well lit but the rest of the room was sterile with nothing special about it. Then again we weren't here for the room. It would have just been nice to have something comfy to come back to at night. Activities- There are nightly shows and things to do however the resort listed free activities such as wind sailing, it's only free after you pay $65 to learn how to sail...the contract staff that handles jet skis down at the beach were seen multiple times drinking and smoking throughout the day. We booked an excursion with one of the tour groups here and had a fantastic time visiting Isla Muejeres via catamaran. The Service- The service was generally great. Front desk staff were super helpful and bar staff are friendly and quick to pour you a drink. Cleaning staff were polite and made quick work of cleaning our room daily. The guys at security kept the drunken revelries in check. Atmosphere-This is a party hotel. We did not know that when we booked. We looked for kid friendly expecting a quiet and relaxing time. If you are an ex-pat looking for a drunken bachelor party this is your place. The pool was always full of very drunk people but the staff kept them in check for the most part. This is not a family hotel if you have little ones. Overall we loved the staff, but they could not overcome the failings of the hotel. We booked all inclusive but ended up going out to eat nearly every night as the food is just no good and there isn't much to do if your not into binge drinking. If you are looking for relaxation and great food, this just isn't your place as hard as it tries to be.
