Worth the $$

Before leaving for vaca, i was nervous bc i went on the site and read some recent reviews and they were not good reviews. I went for 5 days and thought the inclusive resort was great! Food was fine. If something was not good there are tons of other choices to choose from, and 3 locations to choose to eat from! I don't understand how some people have very high expectation when going to an all inclusive. pools were beautiful, and many to choose from to spend your day. Make sure when you check in, also to walk outside to beach and poolside. Beach is beautiful! and if your are going to have a good time with friends and no kids the entertainment near the beach and pool is alot more fun. Pools indside resort is a lil bit for quite and more family with children. If you can try to get in the FAMOUS building 7. We stayed in building 1, it was a lil bit of walk to the beach/pool but it was fine, we didn't mind it. Make sure once you wake up before breakfast, try to go put your towels on chairs to save a seat near the pool. By 8am chairs are quite filled up! Cons' Wifi only in main building, and you have if you want wifi in your room. also if you purchased packages outside your resort, they are NOT helpful!!

Room

This was our 2nd stay at this resort. When making reservations for ourself and our kids we asked to be close to each other. We were on the same floor but not close at all. We were also stuck in the very back of the resort, disappointed that as a returning customer we didn't get a better location. Food was good. The alcohol brand you had the day before was not always available the next day.

Relaxing Vacation

This resort was VERY relaxing! It's just what we hoped and dreamed of. Cesear, the bartender at the bar by the LEFT side of the stage was EXCELLENT!!! He made our stay very enjoyable, fun, and entertaining. The "special" restaurants were nice but slightly understaffed. The only elevator is in Building 7. Watch out for the "sexy" hot tub to the LEFT of building 7 - especially around 3pm - behavior very inappropriate for children. Tried out most of the activities but they got old day after day because they used the SAME MUSIC every day - change up the music! No problems getting a taxi to go into town; took water taxis and very helpful. Will definitely return!

Riu Vacation

Overall, the Riu Santa Fe is the ultimate "you get what you pay for" getaway. If you're looking for luxury, amazing food, and being pampered you will need to pay more $$ and go to one of the nicer resorts in Cabo. But, if you are just wanting to enjoy an all-inclusive resort and not worry about going to restaurants or paying for drinks, consider the Riu. It is a pretty large property with two very large pool areas with plenty of chairs to soak up the sun. Drinks aren't the strongest but are free and very refreshing and all the bartenders are very friendly. Rooms aren't anything spectacular and we actually had to switch rooms because our first one had a very mildewy odor and there was black mold on one of the walls. However, after we were moved we found our next room very pleasant with a great view of the pool. While there were plenty of partiers there during the week, we were never bothered by noise or woken up by late night drunks. The food was okay. We read lots of reviews complaining about the food before we went, and found it decent but not great. But it was free and we never went hungry. Also went out in town one night for a great Mexican dinner at Pancho's (highly recommended). Overall would probably give the Riu 3.5/5 stars. Great value for what you get. Would probably try another resort if we ever went back but enjoyed the week we spent there.

Hotel Description

Riu Santa Fe: Indulge in All-Inclusive Fun

If your idea of paradise means laying partially submerged in a lounge chair without a care in the world, then it's time to float yourself down to explore the infinity pool at Riu Santa Fe in Los Cabos. With the convenience of this 24-hour, all-inclusive resort, you are just three miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas where you can take in the right balance of serenity, spectacular vistas and thrilling nightlife.

If that isn't enough, you'll find more ways to pamper yourself at Riu Santa Fe than time to indulge in all of them. Worried about the kids? There are plenty of fun activities like splashing around in the kid's pool, or engaging in Kids Club activities. While the little ones are occupied, head toward the swim-up bar at an adult pool or indulge in the magical warmth of a Jacuzzi. Of course, you can't go wrong with a rejuvenating massage or complimentary steam bath and sauna at Renova Spa.

If you can't tear yourself from the beautiful outdoors, you should enjoy a succulent dinner under the moonlight with sea breezes blowing through your hair because after all, this is paradise. Three of the resort's restaurants offer succulent dishes in outdoor settings. At La Baja California, the main restaurant, you can enjoy the buffet, if you want some Mexican food, check out La Mision. If you have a hankering for a great steak, then Torote is the ticket. For a gourmet treat, try Peking duck at Zashila followed by yummy fried ice cream.

If you're the type who can't sit still when the music begins, then don't miss the excitement at Pacha. Open six nights a week, this charming nightclub will have you moving to a disco beat in no time. If, you'd rather enjoy a laid back evening, the resort also provides excellent live entertainment in each night. As the night winds down, make your way to your guest room, where you'll find the same blend of local warmth and contemporary decor that makes this resort special.

You could stay at Riu Santa Fe a month and not experience everything in Los Cabos! Long before the peninsula boasted world-class golf courses and Cabo San Lucas laid claim to its hip nightlife, fishermen trekked to Los Cabos for the magnificent marlin fishing. Terrific vistas, non-stop fun and quiet spots make this one a winner.
