Cheap Caribbean doesn't disappoint with Riu

I was looking for a last minute place to take a trip for a birthday getaway and didn't want to deal with hassle of find airfare and resorts. I've done travel agents before and had horrible experience, as in paid months before and when I get there, no record of my reservation. This was completely different. Cheap Caribbean took care of everything and I even go up-to-date emails about my trip. I arrived in Cabo and after exiting there was a representative from Cheap Caribbean waiting for me and my friend. We grabbed a beer as the fun started then. Hoped on a shuttle and carted off to the resort. We checked in within a few minutes and headed right to the pool. From there nonstop fun. Drinks, pool, beach, food. All top notch. Met some great people and families there. The entertainment was great with the work staff getting drunk people to dance and sing. You're always entertained. They have live music at night after dinner. Overall the experience and time off was what I needed to get away from work. The only issue I had was the beds are hard as rocks but after drinking and being in the sun all day you don't notice after a few minutes cause you passed out. It's a little hard to leave the resort at time because you're just enjoying relaxing and drinking all day. When you do leave it's nice, great places to eat near by. Taking taxis can be expensive so go with people. I definitely recommend this trip if you want to have a fun relaxing time in Cabo.

Cabo vacay:

I've read so many reviews on Trip Advisor and have to admit, was a bit skeptical about going. I believe it had a lot to do with the spring breakers. We went in April and missed all of it, which was a good thing. We like to partay, but not in an obnoxious way. I had emailed to get into Building 7. There were 8 of us and the others did and they did accommodate us as Well!! They did say it was an upgrade, we were not charged, however for it. The resort is clean, beautiful and quite vast. The pools are beautiful. The 1st. Day, we went to the quieter pool and the remainder of the vacay, we went by the infinity pool where all of the activities were. It was a blast. You do have to go to the Bar for Cocktails, but we didn't mind!! The Food was alright. We preferred the buffets over the ala carte because there was a lot to choose from and definitely try the taco cart in the square (I believe it's from 7-9 PM), delish. The entertainment every night was quite fun especially the bands. The staff is spot on and so friendly. We did go horse back riding, Downtown a couple of times and on a snorkel excursion, a blast. I do read reviews on everything, but do take them with a grain of salt. I was quite happy that my experience was so different and wanted to give a positive review.

Fun in the sun

I just returned with a group of 8 from vacation. The hotel was immaculate and the staff was extremely nice. The rooms were clean but need updating. The drinks were cold and refreshing and the food was just ok but there were many choices. You are unable to make reservations for the specialty restaurants which is inconvenient. Overall I had an excellent time and would return to the RIU again.

Just OK

check in was a breeze until we got to our building and realize that we did not have a elevator and our room was on the third floor and was never told or mention on the web site. ... that's 3flight of steps for each floor (horrible) I felt bad for the bellman... the room need to be updated and the towels was hard/harsh ... the room was very clean thou,... the pool towel was softer the room towels;;;; the pool area is ok but they need to have music around the swim up pool area both sides ... the food was so so ... not much seafood.... and the service was fantastic the employees was very pleasant and always smiling... which kind of made you overlook the flaws... would I come back to this resort ... NO.... I have stays at several Riu Resorts and this was the lowest grade of them all ... Hopefully the will upgrade the resort to match the other

The impressive nightly entertainment. Especially fun for the little ones.

RiuLand, where the kiddos can play & craft the day away while you melt into stress extraction at the spa.

Dipping into the Jacuzzi for bubbly relaxation. (Plus always a fun mingling spot.)

What We'd Change

You can't swim in the ocean, but the views from the pools, the sunsets and sunrises and walks a long the beach are stunning.

Why You Should Go

It's close to the heart of Cabo San Lucas' shopping, nosh & drinking spots and the marina.

Whale watching here is epic. Best time to see these awe-inspiring creatures - mid-Dec thru mid-April.

Cabo's famous "El Arco" is in the backdrop. Grab your camera and snap, snap away.

You can dance your heart out at Pacha nightclub. Put on your disco shoes and get to it.

Invigorating crowds keep the party going at the pool, around the resort and at night.
