"We loved the Riu Santa Fe. The staff was fabulous, the rooms clean and the views were beautiful. The food was excellent. We expected food such as we have gotten before on cruises. We were very happily ..." – Mjasja

Not coming back.

Resort: Too big. Too spread out. Too many people. Rooms are old. NO ROOM SERVICE. Stay in building seven if you want modern amenities. NOT A SWIMABLE BEACH. No beverage servers at pool. You have to go to bars for drinks. Not enough bathrooms. To get the bathroom you need to walk super far. Of the very few bathrooms there are, they lock some during the day. Food: Food is hit and miss, restaurants are OK. Definite variety. Some times food was incredible. Guests: lots of young people. Lots of bros. Fight broke out at the beach front bar. Basically it’s a cheap hotel what do you expect. The farther from the Bach you go the quieter and more relaxing it is. Staff: Absolutely incredible. Everyone was incredible. The size and the number of guests and the type of people that visit make it hard on the staff. Calling reception will be a hassle as it takes time for them to pick up. I would guess that’s due to the number of guests. Overall: If you are looking for a party, don’t want to spend much and just want to rage for a week....this is the place. If you want to relax have a more refined atmosphere...spend more and stay in a better place. We stayed here due to Rius reputation. We will not be coming back. I will say the views from the Toro restaurant are incredible. Views from the beach pool are incredible. That alone almost makes me want to try again.

Exceptional. Great service, mediocre food

A really big place. Really nice looking. However for a place that goes up 4 levels, they should get an elevator. Not that I needed it but for those who have many luggage or can't physically go up. Bed is not comfortable, pretty hard cushions, blankets need dryer sheets or some type of fabric softener. Television is outdated if television is something you want to look at after a long and exciting day. Food is mediocre. There were many restaurants at the resort and all had poor food quality. I got sick from drinking the coffee. Some food quality was either not cooked well or did not taste right. Do not get me wrong, the staff, servers and bartenders are amazing, helpful, on point with service and fun. It is just the food and drinks and the bed could be better. Alcoholic drinks are low-end. The taco guy grilling all day and everyday was the best. That you cannot mess up I guess. Again, STAFF GREAT! Food and drinks not entirely great!

Good for the value

The room was well furnished, always clean and had an amazing view. I would highly recommend upgrading to ocean view... it definitely made our stay more worthwhile. The pools were nice and large but not well maintained. Many missing tiles, often dirty by the afternoon, especially in the corners of the pools where straws, cups and leaves would accumulate. They were still nice and refreshing after a hot day. The staff was attentive to our request for more bottled water; however baggage service was slow and once they had our bags upon check-in they made it difficult for us to get our baggage back to our room. There were some other services offered to us that were never carried out (birthday cake and decorations). The food service was quite average, nothing spectacular at any of the restaurants. The "specialty" (aka sit-down restaurants) were difficult to get into. They are first-come, first-serve and even though they don't open until 6:30pm for dinner, all of their dinner spots for the entire evening were full by 6:10pm at the most popular restaurant. The first night we had to eat buffet because no one told us we would have to get to the restaurant early for a table. Most of the restaurants are not air-conditioned and are open to the outdoors. The buffet (baja california) did serve a good breakfast, just average for lunch / dinner. The entertainment offered was mediocre, nothing that really caught our interest. We did several excursions off resort so that was not a huge deal to us, but may be a problem for those hoping to have all their entertainment at the resort.

It's close to the heart of Cabo San Lucas' shopping, nosh & drinking spots and the marina.

Whale watching here is epic. Best time to see these awe-inspiring creatures - mid-Dec thru mid-April.

Cabo's famous "El Arco" is in the backdrop. Grab your camera and snap, snap away.
