Overall experience
The Resort beach front view was beyond beautiful. The staff gave excellent service, very helpful. We were comfortable everywhere we went. They have five pools for all age groups, although the adult pool was too quite since they say no music was aloud. Excellent deal. Short walk into the quint town of San Jose, the marina & the dolphins. Beach waves were high. The weather was perfect our whole stay. Would do it again. DON'T get caught up in the time share scam at the airport selling low price excursions.
Overall, I had an enjoyable experience. I liked the location near the estuary, walking distance to San Jose and general peacefulness of the the resort. The food was less than expected for the price. It was ok but extremely repeatative and of average quality. The pool facilitiies were nice and the staff were all extremely friendly. The only thing that was really a major problem was the bed-it was as hard as a rock. I woke up with back pains and stiffness everyday.
I'm sorry but I did not enjoy my stay at the Holiday Inn. Let me start off by saying that it is located at an unswimmable beach. The staff wasn't very helpful and some were even rude. The food quality and alcohol selection was below average.

Holiday Inn "El Presidente", San Jose del Cabo
We spent 4/19-4/23/13 at the Holiday Inn and booked through Cheap Caribbean. It was a great trip and very, very relaxing. The room was very clean, quiet in the building closest to the adult pool and estuary, and plenty of clean linens. Perfect climate, so we left our door open at night for the ocean breezes. Unable to swim in the ocean due to huge waves and dangerous undertow. 4 hotel pools were clean and well-placed, but a little on the cool side. Water could have been warmer.
Food was very good. Lots of breakfast choices, but the meat in Mexico is tough, with the exception of fish and chicken, which is always delicious. Eating on the Terraza al fresco was our favorite.
Not much entertainment, with the exception of a Mexican Dance show at the pool one night.
This is an excellent place for families or older adults because it is quieter than most all inclusives. Not alot of loud young people activities as in some resorts, because it is more "out of the way" than other resorts.
Only $25 cab drive from Holiday Inn back to the airport. $55 per day for car rental within the Hotel, including full coverage. Easy drive to Todos Santos and Cerritos Beach about one and one half hours each way.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable four days and we would definitely go back for a little r and r. Lots of value for the price, very nice staff, free internet.

We are meeting friends with a timeshare in Los Cabos. So, we were hoping to book a package with an all-inclusive stay, then go to the other place for a week, before leaving with our return flight as part of the package purchase.

Absolutely. Yes, it's Mexico, which doesn't have the best reputation in the news lately, but Cabo is very touristy and very Americanized, so you'll be totally fine. I felt very safe the entire time I was there.

Yes , it is .

I was jumped on the property and took ambulance to the hospital and received serious injuries and a $4837.00 US dollar hospital bill that had to be paid with no assistance from the resort

Is there surf at the hotel beach?3 answers
Just average small waves....

Toronto
Although this resort is on the beach it is not swimmable.
KellyCC
You're actually not supposed to go into the ocean because of the strong undertow, but some people were doing it anyway (further down the beach). The waves are small though, so don't expect to do any surfing.
CaboTraveler
Yes there was but not allowed in the water during winter because of strong rip tide

I love to swim :] And since it's winter, I was wondering if the pools at this inn are heated?

Los Angeles, CA
There are 4 swimming pools on this property. They are not heated. The beach is not swimmable.
KellyCC
I believe they're heated a little bit, but don't expect a hot tub. It's going to be a bit cold when you first jump in, but you get used to it.
CaboTraveler
Weather is good there , It's around 60-70 's now you can swim there even at the beach . No heater need it

When we have a package posted on our site, the dates listed are for the minimum nights required for the discounted rate.
KellyCC
I paid 4 nights but I missed my flight , at the airport I called the cheapcaribean.com that I cut short to 3 nights and when I was in Los Cabos the Holiday Resort 's receptionist said they can not refund the night that I lost. So I paid same price of 4 nights for 3 nights.

do i have access to any were on the resort such as all three pools? which Restaurants do i need reservations for and are they hard to make? and because it is all inclusive can i eat at the resturants as many times as i want or am i limited to three meals a day ?
ar
Yes, you have access to all three pools. Don't miss the adults only pool with the swim up bar! You will need to make dinner reservations upon arrival. You are not limited to visiting the restaurants but you may only one reservation per night.
KellyCC
You do have access to all pools, and the resort is ridiculously easy to
maneuver. Everything is spread out within sight and pathways lead you to wherever you want to go, plus the beach is right in front of the resort, which is entirely situated along the beach.
The restaurants all require reservations for a la carte dining, which you
make in the morning for that evening. There is always a large themed
buffet (Asian, Spanish, Italian, etc.) which does not require reservations
When the restaurants are closed between meals, there are several snack bars that serve tacos, burgers or salads.
Leesburger
Yes must reserve 1 restaurant but the other one is open.
Naki
There is unlimited access to all of the pools. You need reservations for the ala carte restaurants for dinner. They are made daily at 10 am. There are three main meals but food is available most of the day until about 10 pm
RiversideTraveler
All of the pools are open and one is only for adults although we spent our entire time at the one with children and it was never an issue. You cannot swim in the ocean here or anywhere within a thirty minute drive because of the currents. The main breakfast and lunch buffet is in the Napa restaurant opening at 7am and closing like at 10 and then reopening for lunch for what seemed all afternoon. There is a main outdoor buffet dining area in the center of the complex starting at 6pm. The other restaurants open sporadically through the week with reservations taken at 945am at Napa. (be advised there is a charge for steak or shrimp, etc)
JimF
Yes you had access to all the pools. Need to make reservations for the ala carte restaurants each day at 10 am. Front desk will let you know where the line is. We actually walked past around 11 one day and line was gone and was able to make a reservation for 6 pm at the Steak House. Different restaurants are open each night. Napa and Steak House were great. Didn't eat at the Mexican. No limit to how many nights you eat in them. You can eat all day as many times as you want except for the ala carte since you must make a reservation. But you can come and go from the buffet. During the day you can eat at the pool BBQ as many times as you want or the taco bar. Might also have a buffet during this time but now sure as we just ate by the main pool everyday. Hope this helped.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Stunning Spot to Tour Baja Peninsula
Tucked away in a land of contrasts, Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos is the

of Cortes, to the south. You'll want to grab your camera to capture the

Three pools, in a distinctive W-shape mirroring the hotel, offer plenty of
options for everyone. Families gravitate to a pool with a shallow section for
the young ones. Close by is the Chiqui Club, where kids can play games or learn
local crafts. At the central pool, there's water volleyball, water polo and
water aerobics. The adults-only pool at the other end of the resort is home to
the swim-up bar, La Balena, perfect for the two of you and a couple of frosty
mai tais.
After a day of fun, head to La Terraza for savory tacos, with a different filling every day. At night, things turn romantic, and La Terraza becomes a steakhouse.
Feel the need to move? Sign up for a tennis clinic or for a slower pace, try
