REALLY NICE!!
Excellent service, Good location. Allow a little time for check in but check out was a breeze. Room was comfortable, reasonable. Large choice of drinks and cuisine. Kids appeared to be having a good time.
Minimal snorkeling. Great pools. Very secure.
Would highly recommend.
I JUST CAME BACK FROM SUNSET JAMAICA GRANDE ON SUNDAY AND I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I HAD SUCH A AWESOME VACATION MOSTLY PARTIED IN TOWN WITH THE LOCALS HOWEVER, THE FOOD AT SUNSET WAS VERY GOOD THEY DO HAVE JAMAICAN FOOD BUT CATER TO EVEYONE THE STAFF IS ALWAYS VERY HELPFUL MY HOUSEKEEPER SANDRA ALWAYS HAD MY ROOM DONE DAILY AND ALWAYS WELL STOCKED I STAYED IN ROOM 607 IN THE SOUTH TOWER (THE SOUTH TOWER IS QUIETER WHICH I LIKE) THIS IS MY SECOND TIME THERE AND ILL BE BACK IN DECEMBER!!
First time doing an all inclusive..so we did not have anything to compare it to. So we were very open minded with our expectations. The BEST thing about the resort is the pool & beach. The Dining had it's great points and it's not so great points. The buffet ( breakfast ) is not bad, however, the staff was very slow replacing items that had run out or not replacing them at all. The staff at the buffet worked very hard to keep the tables cleaned offand providing coffe & juices. Lunches at the grilles were good and always had a quick snack available. Dinner at the Specialty places required reservations, had no problem getting into. Service was GREAT. Food at Asain & Jamaican was very good, the Italian was pretty bad, very dried out with little flavor, The beach BBQ was good and fun...The casino was 15 slots that had few winners, Rooms were comfortable, but need some updating.The biggest surprise was the 2hr. ride from the airport to the resort..WOW !!! And Last, the bars really needed some additional staff..standing out in the hot sun for 15-20 minutes for a watered down drink was not what we expected

No, you will receive a band around your wrisk and unless you are a customer of the hotel, you will not be able to use the facility. They are very strikt on allowing people access to the property withough the band.

We had a junior suite and it would hold your family with the addition of a roll away bed ( we used one of these for our daughter ). The two beds in the room were doubles so you would probably need an adult with a child in each of these beds. The roll away nods only one person and did not crowd the room too much as we put it along the wall across from the sofa in the living room area.

Although one room may sleep a max of 4, they have a clever way of joining the rooms. 2 rooms beside each other have separate doors with keycard entries but outside the 2 doors is another set of doors that you can latch and keep the 2 doors to the rooms open.
Rooms are large enough to have a rollaway bed added to a 2 double bed room.

Thank you for your question! The beach at Sunset Jamaica Grande is beautiful and long! It is relatively narrow but the length more than makes up for that. Of course, the ocean is gorgeous and the resort has 5 beautiful pools and a waterfall.

The beach here is marvelous! White sand and the water has the bluest blues you will ever see. The beach in the hotel zone is really one big beach. Take a scrap of bread into th water and scatter crumbs--you will attract beautiful schools of fish. Marvelous!

The beach is pleasant but not the best. U are in a protected harbor and u are looking at a port a few hundred yards away. Not exactly what I wanna look at when in a tropic setting, but the water is nice and the beach is cleaned daily.

The beach area was small and crowded. You had to save a chair early in the morning or you weren't going to get one. The Water was warm but not over waist deep in the small, permitted swimming area. Absolutely no waves to frolic in. Kind of disappointing.

The beach was nice, the beach area at the resort wasn't as big as I thought it was but it was enough for us. They had two seperate parts of the beach both places had lounge chairs but on one side you could do the snorkeling, kayaks and on the other you could not.

The beach was very disappointing!!! It was very small. It was almost like an inlet. There were boats parked right there. the cruise ships were also pretty close. The sand was not soft, there were alot of rocks. We were not impressed at all.

I actually did the opposite with no extra charge. I flew into Jamaica a couple of days before checking into the resort and used a one way transfer to the airport to fly back home. Just tell the Cheap Caribben reservation agent exactly what you want to do and they'll arrange everything for you.

Yes, the Sunset Jamaica Grand does allow cruise ship passengers to purchase a day pass which provides access to all of the restaurants, beaches and amenities at the resort. Currently they are charging $80 USD per person for a day pass, prices are subject to change.

I did see where you could purchase a day pass to the resort I honestly don't know what all it included I would imagine everything the resort offers in its all inclusive package. I want to say the prices said something like $80 for adults and $40 for kids. But I wouldn't guarantee that. The prices could probably change, or may be dependent on other things.

Yes it is. They do not have very many places to eat. They also do not have room service. They only serve red stripe beer and they have one type of wine. They do have several island drinks to choose from. They will ask or want tips for room service etc. but if you stay at a 5 star resort they will not.

At Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort and Spa, kids can enjoy Club Mongoose and Jamrock Teens Club, catering to children ages 2-12 with a variety of fun filled activities. There is also Pirates Paradise Waterpark with five pools, waterfalls, rope bridges, Jacuzzis and two awesome, 300-foot waterslides.

The do have a kids club on the property, but I don't remember what the age range was for it. Also there never seemed to be anyone there (staff or kids) anytime we were in the vicinity of it. We traveled with a 9 & 12 year old and this resort is just not as family friendly as they make it sound on the website

the dress code was formal. guys had to wear pants, no shorts. it says no flip flops, but as long as youre dressed nicely, no one will say anything. for women, people wore dresses or fancy shirts with black/khaki pants

At this resort, no not specially is there an adult only. In the Hotel binder in your room it will say south side is dedicated mostly for adults. The north side is more rowdy. I would agree. The bar stays open from 10am-2am daily on the north side, and the water slides are over there. however, there were never a lot of small kids when we went. No topless beaches at this hotel.

They say yes, but you still see men wearing shorts. The way I see it and expect is that you don't go into these restaurants wearing your swim trunks and a tank top. Some ppl just don't respect that simple policy so they have to enforce it if necessary. So I would say, dress shorts and a collared shirt is acceptable. Wearing slacks in this heat will have you all sweating...

there are restraunts that do require a certain dress for dinner, of which men in long pants and women in dress clothes. they are proper English people and use the Queens English and are very proper people. However, the resort has a buffet for three meals a day that do not require anything other than you be clothed! No swimsuits allowed in the dining area.

It says on the website for slacks, but really the attitude down there is "no problem, mon"... if you don't have slacks but you still are clean and look/act decent, you can come in. That pretty much goes for any "rule" at the hotel.

Minimum Stay
A 5-night minimum stay is required when booking the SALE room categories for travel Jan 2-Mar 31, 2013.
Smoking Policy
Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort has a non-smoking policy. Smoking is not allowed
in air-conditioned areas of the resort. Smoking is allowed in the main lobby,
outside restaurants and pool decks. Smoking is not allowed in guest rooms,
balconies, lobby areas and restaurants that are air-conditioned.
Age Restrictions
One guest in each room must be at least 18 years old or older. The person whose name is on the reservation MUST be present at check-in. All persons staying in the room must be registered in the resort and are required to wear armbands. Lost armbands will result in a $100 charge. The resort also charges a security deposit of $300 per room for rooms with guests 21 years old and younger. We will accept a credit card imprint but may also require cash deposit. If there are no damages to your room, the deposit will be returned at check out. If after check-in you find damage to your room, report it immediately to the front desk or you could be charged for damage you did not cause. Inspections of your room will be conducted by management prior to your departure from the resort.
