Outdated Rooms

The rooms are extremely outdated, hard mattress, 20-26" flat screen tv, cant see over the balcony when seated because of the paving, sheets and top quilt remind me of an old motel room. Food was cold at the buffets and not many options if you dont eat pork or if you prefer a good salad. Toneys Steakhouse was good, though i think the food is recycled to the different buffets on the property. Pool warea was very crowded and hard to find a spot to relax if you dont get a chair early. The same for the beach, but if you look long enough you eventually find a chair if its not broken. Staff was amazing, very accommodating and welcoming. For the money spent I would of preferred more luxury in the room. Tried to call cheapcarribbean but the 800 number is not accessible from Montego Bay. Overall Average place, avoid Beach and try for Grande Iberostar.

Iberostar Beaches/Suites

With my three sons, I have gone on Caribbean Cruises, All inclusive Dominican Republic Resorts, Myrtle Beach and the whole Florida thing (Disney, Epcot and anything else you can think of down there). Iberostar Jamaica was by far, the best trip we have ever had. We initially stayed at Beaches. But, circumstances moved us over to the Suites. As usual, I had some work that had to go with me and due to security, I can only use a wired connection. The Beaches doesn't really support this. They were overbooked at the Beaches so the manager asked if I wanted to move over to the Suites which had better wired internet service. We did this 1/2 throughout our trip. Don't get me wrong--had we never moved, we would still have been 95% happy with the Beaches since we did not experience the Suites. They have the same shows as the Suites which I found to be the best part of these resorts. But, if you can swing a little extra money, it is worth it to stay at the Suites. Small things, like free internet at the Suites and a higher grade of meals make it worth the extra. The Beach's main problem is chairs for the pool and the Beach. It is an extreme problem to the point guests never turn in their pool towels. They keep them overnight and get up at 7 or earlier and get a chair-if there is one. I did this one day to find someone had stolen one of our chairs when we came back from breakfast. The Suites have ample chairs and the Beach is closer. If you can't get a pool chair, you can certainly get a Beach Chair with is very close. There is also no comparison to the rooms (Suites) at the Suites compared to Beaches. Beaches is your typical room, the Suites (we had a Junior one) are absolutely beautiful. Both have a fully filled refrigerator with beer, soft drinks and water. Both resorts (who are side-to-side) have gorgeous pools that give you a beautiful view of the ocean. Bellhops take you from one resort to another (1-2 min ride). Personally, I feel the Beaches has better pool activities like water aerobics and contests. So, you can get the schedule and go back and forth as you wish if you are staying at the Suites. The Suites' guests also can sign up at any of the Specialty restaurants on the two locations although we had NO problem signing up at the Beaches. Our favorite was the Japanese Restaurant. The food was great; (I wouldn't say it was 5 Star, but, still great), but, the Hibachi "Jamaican" Chefs were hilarious. We had a blast. The best part of these resorts (and I was surprised how many guests did not even attend) were the shows. These were incredible and the talent was remarkable. There was anything from men that did unbelievable acrobatic moves to a fire eater on the beach, singers that should be on Broadway (a couple were so good we were convinced they lip sang until the end where they did an ad lib--no music solo) and comical Wedding shows that beats any cruise ship. The staff go out of their way to provide 100% customer service. I had Achilles surgery in December and my balance is still iffy. When I was balancing to walk into the beach (there are some rocks that a worker actually stands there and rakes), a worker came up to me and offered his hand to help me walk far enough to be able to Swim. Stairs are my hardest problem still. There was a power hit and the elevator was temporarily out and needed to be rebooted. I explained I could not walk up the stairs to a worker. The head of maintenance turned the elevator on just long enough for me to ride up to my room until it could be fully restored. My kids are now grown, with the youngest in High School, so I did not personally experience the Kids activities. But, we saw workers with these kids the whole week. On their Easter "Monday", they had an all night pajama party for both resorts at the Suites. I did not see any unhappy kids that week. We will definitely go back next year.

Great stay!

We just got back from our vacation and it was good! Everything...the food, the service, the grounds. I loved the tea and banana shakes every morning....delicious! The staff was very friendly and very attentive! Our only complaints are: the beds are not so comfortable, the pillows are flat and hard. And there arenot enough poolside chairs. We are asked not to save them but people still do. However, there are plenty of beach chairs so we just walked back and forth between the beach and pool. ( Not a big deal).

Awesome trip

Fantastic resort. Food was amazing! There is a diving center attached to the resort that offers scuba diving classes. My 10 and 11 year olds started in the pool with instructors and were able to dive in the ocean, twice! The instructors were great! Kudos to Becky, Maggie, Marcia, and Craig. We had a ball!

Iberostar Rose Hall: Enjoy All-Inclusive Family-Friendly Fun

Wouldn't it be nice to take a breather from work, stress and the daily grind? Fresh Caribbean air awaits you at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach, one of three Iberostar resorts in Montego Bay. This Colonial-style, beachside resort draws couples and families alike with the promise of a non-stop, island party, courtesy of their all-inclusive package, featuring Lucy's Club for the kids, Teenies Club for teens, and top-quality liquor at six bars.

Drop off your bags and hit the beach; nothing says "no worries" like a day spent lounging in the sun with a mojito from the Beach Bar, or splashing around the infinity pool with the kids before swimming up to the Pool Bar for a round of yummy pina coladas. When hunger strikes, the four restaurants deliver outstanding cuisine. Treat the family to a show at the teppanyaki-style Japanese restaurant, or satisfy your taste buds with spicy Cajun a la carte. After dinner, let the Animation Team dazzle you with dance and a full orchestra.

While the kids get crafty with crayons, and meet new friends at the Kids and Teenies Clubs, you're free to enjoy some all inclusive perks at Iberostar Rose Hall: choose from beach volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking and windsurfing for an active afternoon. Head over to the popular, 18-hole Cinnamon Hill Golf Course, before relaxing in the spa: the Relief Legs massage rejuvenates those tired muscles after a full day, or try the signature Milk Bath hydrotherapy for a relaxing, refreshing skin treatment.

You'll be ready for bed after a busy day of fun, and families think the Junior Suite Ocean Front Room is a great fit with two double beds, a spacious bathroom and a balcony with gorgeous views. Couples who need a comfy crash pad agree that the Standard Room with a fully stocked mini bar is a great choice for their vacation in paradise.
