It Was an ok Place

The resort is pretty big, but they have a lot of up keeping to do. The food was not the greatest, (the Jamaican food was the bomb),the freshly cooked burgers outside on the grill near the pool was great (hot dogs looked weird) and the jerk hut was awesome (best 2 places to eat), Sports bar food was not too bad as well. Twice we saw roaches, once at Negril buffet and then again at Posiden restaurant oh and don't go to eat at The Blue Lagoon Restaurant it smells there. Smells like the furniture gets wet and never dries properly. The room was nice and cold, the only issue we had was the reading lamps didn't work, the sink would clog up and when we first got into our room it felt like they never cleaned the floors. I did like that the mini-bar was restocked everyday (no hard alcohol, just soda, bottled water, nuts, canned red stripe and bud light) Overall the trip was great and I was satisfied with the services provided.

Its cool

This is a decent resort but some things can be changed. For instance, there are way too many kids at the swim up bar. Plus, they dont play any music at the swim up bar. They play music at the other ones but all they play is a few Bob Marley songs but the rest of the music was like 80's rock. So dont expect to hear any new Jamaican music like Vybes Kartel, buju banton, macka diamond or nobody of that nature. Also, they dont have much of a selection of Jamaican food. They have ackee and saltfish sometimes but on the regular day its brown stew chicken, bammy, and ive seen porridge once at the Jamaica buffet. I never went to the Negril buffet because i was always early and it wasnt open yet. They have jerk chicken and jerk pork at the Jerk Hut at sunset cove but its only open from 12-4pm. Lastly, this is not the place to go if you are single. Its all kids and couples lol. Only places where you might have luck is Margaritaville or Ricks Cafe in Negril or go down to Montego Bay somewhere.

Excellent Week

We arrived to the resort about 4pm in the afternoon. We were promptly greeted and given the staple drink, rum punch. They told us after we enjoyed that we could go over to get ourselves checked in. The check in process was smooth and quick. We were given our room information, room keys and towell cards. The one think missing was an explanation of the resort, where you currently are and where things are located. I am sure the "free gift" time share folks would have been happy to do that and am sure they do that. However we weren't there to hear a time share speech. On the Lady Hamilton side they were easy to avoid and were not pushy at all. Do's: They say all specialty restaurants are just first come first serve except for the Hibachi Grill where you need to make reservations. The next morning we went to do this and there was nothing for the whole week but one option that we didn't take. We did however make reservations at the steak house for a birthday celebration. My do's here is make reservations for any of the restaurants you want to eat at or be there in line at 5:30pm. We opted to try the Italian and arrived about 6:30 pm. Were told the wait was about 30 minutes. We were good with that. Actually it was a wait of about 1 hour and 10 minutes. All of those with reservations were seated at their time. The experience in the Italian was it took us over an hour once we sat down to get to the main course being served and finally left before any dessert options were presented. The steak house went around and did a survey, the service was great and the food was out fast. Not so just next door. The huge pool is a great option and we enjoyed every area. We never had any trouble finding a spot to sit by the pool or on the beach. We were in building 26 which was close to the pool and beach, excellent area. The rooms were nice, beds hard of course but we all sleep good. The drinks were always made great and the top shelf liquor was always available and never met a bartender that didn't make it how you wanted it. For the most part everyone was friendly and very helpful. Any rude people we encountered were other guest. We did the Luminous Bay trip. Went for dinner at the restaurant there, this is a DON'T waste your time. Eat at the local Pelican Restaurant that has been around for years for an experience. The luminous bay was fun and the kids enjoyed it. A unique experience. Bring bug spray with you if you go, prior to the boat ride the bugs were bad. We loved our week at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton and would be willing to try other Palladium resorts with out a doubt. This one had a ton of options and food choices. We skipped the evening shows, was not impressed that we were in Jamaica and the entertainment director was Hispanic. We go to Mexico all of the time and just were not ready for the introductions, game and such to come with a hispanic accent, we were there to hear the Jamaican fast talk and shortened English they speak.

Don't stay here

Just left a family vacation here. The service is terrible. Felt like I was in Miami, nothing about this place says Jamacia. My shoe magically was lost out my room. The place was filled with children, even at the club.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, all-beautiful and all you'd ever want in a beach vacay. Swoon.

The 86,000 sq. ft. infinity pool with four Jacuzzis. You could hang here the entire time & be just fine.

Reservations are not required at any of the restaurants.

Modeled after Roman baths, the epic spa's stress-busting massages, Turkish baths & more.

Teeing off at the renowned Tryall Country Club that's just 10 minutes away. Schwing.

Swooning over the panoramic view of the pool and teal ocean from the Blue Lagoon restaurant.

What We'd Change

The resort is built in rugged country, so the man-made beaches are rocky. Even so, the area is beautiful, and with five pools, finding a place to swim is no problem.

Why You Should Go

It's about 40 minutes from the airport - blink and you'll have a chilly drink in your hand.

You can hop on catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats, snorkeling & windsurfing 100% FREE.

Volleyball, tennis & aerobics are available for calorie burning. (Dip into the ocean to cool off.)

Dunn's River Falls is not too far away and is a must-splash. Jump in.

Since these are villa-style, three-story buildings, there are no elevators. Better than a stair-climber.
