Worse birthday vacation ever !!!

I always dreamed of traveling out of the United States to go to a place of Serenity on my 26th birthday so I chose Punta Cana,DR. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. It was actually by far the worse experience of my life. Upon check in, I did not receive the room. That was selected On the site. They told me that the room I paid for was not available and tried to make me purchase the room again. When I walked inside my room there was a stale smell and every now and then you would see flying and crawling insects. The wall sockets well so loose that we could not keep our phones charged because it wouldn't stay plugged it. So we went to the front desk and asked for a converter they only gave us one after we stressed how it was three of us in the room and we needed to have our phones charged while being out of the country. While heading to the beach we were being hassled left and right about purchasing an excursion. The thought was nice, but they didn't want to take no for an answer. They continued to swarm you and it was always overwhelming. You try to relax on a vacation and come to Here and they are pestering you everytime you walk past their stand & they even come up to you while relaxing on the beach when you eyes are closed. How rude is that? We told the people several times that we did not want to purchase and it became such a hassle to even walk past these sellers and that was the only way to the beach was to pass their stand where they were selling these excursions. The servers in the dining were very sweet and prompt. The beach was dirty and needed to be raked out. The shore had so much trash and stick like substances. The wifi was horrible. We were told by front desk that we would be able to use the wifi for free everyday for an hour, which never worked. The one restaurant (seafood) that I wanted to go to for my birthday was closed and I couldn't book a reservation. There was an issue when we were trying to check in online for our flight back home and the man from information would not log out of his Facebook and help us pull up the number on google. He insisted on us using our own phones, after we explained how our phones weren't even charged due to the wall sockets being broke. Our wifi didn't work so there was no way possible to use any type of internet to search the number to call the airlines. Besides front desk directed us to the man who is suppose to help us and he was using the work computer for personal use in time of need. That is terrible customer service. There was also a time later in the trip where I tried to book my ride back to the airport with transportation and he didn't even try to help he pulled me and my two friends to the side and wasted our precious vacation time trying to continue to sell us excursions. I wanted to become irate, because one of my friends with me spoke Spanish fluent and she heard the front desk communicate with the salesman and tell them to try to persuade us to buy and excursion when we we just trying to book a ride back to the airport through the package we purchased again onthis website. That website is a joke and deceiving. It was stated that we would have free wifi just to find out that front desk only offers 1 hour free a day, in which we weren't even able to explore. We also had a few issues at the bar on the beach because the bartender was saying that she didn't want to serve us and was talking in Spanish ,like we didn't know what she was saying, telling the people around that we drink a lot. Overall, I think this experience at the resort completely destroyed the beautifulness of the Dominican Republic. I will never come back and wouldn't recommend anybody to come near this place. I almost couldn't wait to get back to the United States and kiss the ground. I literally cried my eyes out when I landed in Florida because I was so happy to be away from that terrible experience that I waited my entire life for & paid so much money to be let down. This is deceiving. The website advertises something completely than when you get to the front desk after you paid all of your hard earned money just to be held out to dry and find out that majority of the site that sold you was a lie!!!!!!!

Most Beautiful Place i Have Ever Seen!

This was the most beautiful place I have ever been. Don't let the other reviews scare you away! I always felt safe and extremely well treated within the resort. The staff was awesome but it helps to know a little Spanish. The only thing I would like to see different is for the artisans on artisan nigh to not be allowed to be so pushy in sales. I understand why but I think they could sell a lot more if they would let people look and not push items at them. I loved the resort grounds and the beach. And if you go do not miss the Mr. and Miss Natura Competition.

The rooms aren't as advertised, needs updated toilet doesn't flush properly. Light flashing doesn't stay on. No hair dryer took 2 days to get one. Try to change room was told that all rooms are the same. We will never come back to this hotel.
