Food choices were great but quality of food and drink were average. The best restaurant encountered was the French restaurant. Room service and the latin restaurant food quality was okay. I expected all food to be the same quality.

Make sure before you book!

This was not quite the anniversary celebration we were expecting. Based on the research and past reviews we were excited to stay here but were disappointed. We stayed for 10 nights/11 days in early September. Unannounced to us, it was their "off season". We quickly realized it wasn't a good thing. Upfront, the best thing was the beach. Gorgeous, quiet, tranquil… the viewed we had hoped for. Shallow water and swimmable, minus the coral, but perfect! We were told upon check-in that our Anniversary would be very special. We thought it was so generous how happy they seemed. Other than the welcome bottle of champagne, and one breakfast for two (which you can do via room-service), we didn't get any special requested items for our anniversary. No rose pedals in the bed or bath, no special turn down service, no towels in heart shaped, and no banner on the door. DINING: So many of the restaurants were closed, held in different locations, and understaffed. And the food was just okay for being adults only, all-inclusive, I expected more. I felt I ate a lot of the same items and nothing was amazing. We did love the French restaurant, Coquette. Ate there 2 times! Silk was overall good as well. Stay away from Culinaria. Multiple times at dinner I was told “no” for asking for menu substitutions or a bottled beer which they had up front. We really wanted to eat at Spoon for breakfast but it was never open. So we had to eat at the same breakfast place every day! We had multiple very rude waiters and overall bad experiences at the sit-down dinners. DRINKS: Let’s talk about the drinks. Be careful what you order, it was never what I expected and was never made the same. The drinks are very sugary and watered down. So I ended up sticking with beer, only consistent drink but got old quick. My mini bar was not cold which a bummer was. Some people got bottles of brugal rum to mix with drinks in your fridge but we never did. Inconsistent! The waiters on the beach rarely came around so it was hard to get a drink. Very disappointed!!!! ENTERTAINMENT: We enjoyed the hotel entertainment but hated being repetitively asked and pressured into participating in the E-team activities. We wanted time to just relax and enjoy ourselves, not always doing something. Definitely check out the foam party! BEWARE… every time to try to get a towel by the pool, the people handing them out try to sell you items. So annoying, I just wanted to relax, not book an excursion. ROOM: Our room was nothing special. It constantly had a weird mildew smell and humidity feeling. Our clothes and sheets always felt damp. I felt dirty and clammy even after showering. Now, the actual shower was my favorite part because of the space and hotness of the water. We reported a bug problem, but was never fixed. These mini fly type bugs filled our bathroom. At one point we counted 8 just by the sink. We tried closing the drain but they kept coming back. Our hand bar of soap never got replaced and it clearly was on it’s last leg, I had to use my dove body wash to wash my hands towards the end. We liked being able to call to the U.S. from our room and liked the variety if English tv stations. Overall, I would look at other resorts before choosing this one!

Just okay

Last year we went to Secrets Maroma and it was the best resort ever! We thought being owned by the same company it would of had high standards. I knew it wouldn't be as great as Secrets but we gave it a shot. Cons: First, when my wife and I just got there we sat by the lobby and was told to wait to check in. 10 minutes later we were still waiting. That was extremely annoying and we didn't feel Welcomed. This hotel is only a few years old but there are so many cracks, dust, chipped and dirty furniture everywhere. We arrived at our room and it was disgusting. There were flys, a hole in the comforter, it looked like the bathroom amenities were used already, finger prints on the door, the room itself was so blah. We went back up to complain. We got an upgraded room and it was sooo much better! Our room key got deactivated so be careful and don't put it near your phone. The staff hounds you everyday for excursions and to listen to their presentation . It's really ridicioulous. The room service food was horrible! There were gnats in our bathroom all day, everyday The activities were lame, Secrets were way better. Our power went out, it blew a fuse due to using the jacuzzi The shows at the resort was just okay. We left one show after 10 minutes, it was boring to watch Pros: The resort is nice, well maintained Food at restaurants was pretty good Decent party scene at night and during the day Entertainment staff and the staff overall was the best part of our trip , they were funny, nice , attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Big pools Beach was nice Drinks were good Nice gym Buffets had a lot of options I wouldn't go back or recommend unless you want a party resort but the party scene could of been better.

Wonderful Beach

Everything was very wonderful, room was nice, pools were fabulous, food was good, service was superb! Our only problem was we are a middle age couple just looking for sun, and relaxation! This resort was more for young adults looking to have a lot of fun and excitement.

What's to Love

A Las-Vegas-meets-South-Beach mash-up, Breathless Punta Cana is an adults-only playground for elite, discerning travelers.

Here, you can either frolic or lounge, (or toggle between the two states), in an escape zone of unhinged revelry and bliss.

Rockin' suites (the size of the Grand Canyon) with stress-busting Jacuzzis on your private terrace.

Baths have Jack and Jill vessel sinks in hip, bright colors (orange, yellow), which will bring a little happy to your sleepy-eyed morning.

You can pamper yourself with Zero % Gilchrist & Soames luxury bath products.

A transcendent, lush spa offers a bevy of tantalizing, worry-smashing, soul-transporting treatments. (Defies description, actually.)

The Bachelorette Party Package - the last fling before the ring. Boom.

Shimmering, sparkling beaches with glistening sand have perch-worthy cabanas.

There's an expansive main pool, swim-up bar, a multi-level Freestyle pool and four other pools all waiting for you.

What We'd Change

The drive from the airport might seem like it's far, but once you arrive, you're going to be swept away. And, be prepared to receive a cocktail upon arriving because the staff at Breathless knows you're ready to party!

Why You Should Go

The pheromone-raising monthly fetes like Menage a Deux a Trois and weekly bashes like Dirty Dancing Night.

You can go topless horseback riding, if you dare.

Water sports galore: Kayaking, windsurfing, catamaran, paddle boating, and more.

Pool aerobics for those who want to burn calories to keep that beach bod.

There's a coral reef 1.5 miles from the main land - dreamy perfect for snorkeling or scuba.

Check out the nearby historic sites - 16th century Mediterranean village on a dramatic cliff, or the south-east tip of the island for turquoise water.

The dolphins are near for a fun day trip. But you might be too busy making history of your own.

A casino that is the very definition of world-class. You have to see to understand.

Hotel Description

Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa: Noble Beach Prize Winner - Best Beach-o-tainment

Imagine: the water you are standing is so blue, you can't quite believe it's real. Then, as you pad across the soft sugar sand on the way to your hot stone massage you are besieged with passing winks and adoring whispers from attractive, beguiling strangers - who aren't creepy. You like them. After your spa treatment, you savor the blessings of Latin Criollo gourmet cuisine, then look at your watch, and smile: it's only six more hours until the foam party. Time to be bold because topless sunbathing is permitted at pool and the beach - who wants a tan line, anyways?!

At Breathless, this isn't a fantasy. It's time to Live Big. Breathe Deep.

  • Unlimited Connectivity mobile app - you'll never lose touch with anyone. (And they'll never lose touch with you, which while you're here, is probably a good thing).
