Best Value Ever.

What was looking to be a 5 day / 4 night week of rain turned out to be a wonderful all around stay @ Be Live Hotel. Everything was great. Staff was always helpful. Weather which we can't control was beautiful. Quality of food was a 7.5 to 8.0 (10 being Excellent). Drinks were nice except for the house wine, they could do much better for a house wine. The resort has 5 or 6 different restaurants and fortunately they have a nice selection of wines to pick from and very well priced. That was the only expense (bottle of wine), during my stay. Went alone and enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend to friends and would return as well.

Never again

-Our stay at the Be Live Collections Hotel in Punta Cana was the worst vacation getaway we have EVER experienced. For starters we waited over 3 hours past check in time for our room. Our representative was Jose, a Supervisor/Manager. Jose told us that because we had to wait he would give us a master suite and a VIP bracelet. He told us how beautiful our room will be and that we will have access to everything in the resort with our VIP passes. Jose then asked us to go grab something to eat and when we come back our room will be ready. About an hour later we came back and our room was not ready. Jose was not around; so as we stood there waiting they put us in a standard room for the night. There was no champagne upon arrival to our room, which according to the hotel description there was supposed to be. There was also no real "mini bar" (what we got consisted of two 6oz. Cans of coors light, one bottle of water, two sodas). The room smelled extremely musty and there was mold on the walls, as well as in the bathroom, smeared dirt on the walls, and stained bedding (we can provide pictures). I also stepped on a rusty nail which thankfully did not puncture my foot (picture of this can be provided as well). The food is not all inclusive as stated. All the decent restaurants were at extra cost and the bars that had the premium liquor were for VIP only. We had no choice but to eat at the buffet, because a reservation is required for the restaurants. The buffet had dirty seating and tabletops. Our "waiter" literally wiped food off of the tablecloth with his hands (leaving behind little stains) and laid our silverware right on top of it (this happened a few times during our stay). The next morning we called the front desk to ask about our room upgrade and VIP bracelets and the woman told us it would be ready around 2-3pm and to come up front then. We went to the front desk around 2:30 and were excited to see Jose working (since he was the person who said he'd upgrade us), however, Jose was not very friendly or approachable this time, in fact he was extremely rude and unprofessional towards us (lots of eye rolling and talking to us like we were idiots). He told us he never offered to give us a master suite and VIP upgrade, almost as if we just made it all up (mind you we still have the map where he marked everything we would get with our VIP). After refusing to give us the upgrade he offered, Jose then said he would give us 3 hours of late check out for free and one free night of VIP access. If we wanted VIP for the other nights we'd have to pay for it. We went back to the front desk our last night there to retrieve our one free night of VIP access, and Jose said he told us we'd only get one free night if we had purchased the remaining nights (buy 3 get one free). That is not even close to what he told us, just like all of his other empty promises. He said if we wanted the VIP pass for our last night, we'd have to pay $50. He also only gave us 2 hours of late check out instead of the original 3. Jose promised us all these great amenities and upgrades for the inconvenience but instead only inconvenienced us even more. In addition to us not getting the upgrade, we did not sleep much because our standard room was located 20ft away from the disco, which on average went on until 2:30am every night (we have pictures and videos we can provide). We chose this resort because it claimed to be a relaxing getaway, but there was nothing relaxing about it. There was loud music, and obnoxious people all day long. This resort is more of a spring break destination for college kids; the "parties" were never ending, and most outdoor areas smelled like vomit. Additionally, the all inclusive drinks were a joke, it was basically just a bunch of warm juice. The drinks came in small plastic cups and each time you wanted a refill you would need to wait in a long line to get it because there was only one server behind each of the bars. We didn't get anything we were expecting. I actually cried our first night there and looked to see how much it would cost to book a flight home because of how utterly disappointed and upset we were. The pictures online only show what's available for VIP access, falsely advertising what we were actually paying for. The amount of walking vendors all over the resort is ridiculous. It was impossible to even enjoy walking anywhere without being pursued by men and women trying to sell items or services. While laying on the beach, we were constantly getting approached by people trying to sell their items. Two men, on separate occasions, even attempted to sell us drugs. The two free restaurants have limited hours so if you do not make it within that time frame the only other option would be paying for room service because the other restaurants (which cost money) need a 24 hour reservation. One night we missed the buffet hours so we attempted to order room service. We called around 8 times before we were even able to order, and were hung up on in the process. The main item we wanted to order from the menu was not available (pizza) so They called back and had us order something else. They said it will be to our room in 45 minutes. After an hour and a half we called back to see why it had not yet been delivered and we were told it would be another half hour. When the food finally did come, it consisted of cold French fries and un-appetizing sandwiches. We were ripped off at the currency exchange booth. We gave them $40 usd and in return got 1720 pesos, however we should have gotten 1886.53. There is no air conditioning throughout resort except in your room. Eating was miserable because we were a sweaty mess and there was a lack of available water. We even witnessed a woman faint in the buffet area. We made a reservation for hibachi and when we got there they sat us at a table and said we weren't reserved for hibachi, the table menus was much different and nobody explained to us how to order so we ended up leaving. The only positive outcome from this trip was the weather. The ocean view was beautiful, but you couldn't pay us to come back to this resort. We understand that not everything is perfect, and inconveniences happen, however, Management had several chances to make it right and chose not to.

Basic Value Hotel

If you're wanting to see Punta Cana on a budget this may be the hotel for you! Nothing fancy, and not the best service...but for the price it worked for me. Beach and pools are nice, hotel is pretty dated and expect to get hit up for the timeshare presentation..just say no..lol
