Great get away vacation with couple or family!

Amazing team, environment, food, activities and overall service. My wife, kids and I vacationed Be Live twice. Shout out to the great entertainment team - mini me, speedy (I LOVE YOU!), cappuccino, Lucia, Mili, spaghetti and rest of the team. We love you all and missed you. We missed the great food and the awesome daily entertainment. My kids miss the theme song - boom boom boom! We definitely will be back in the near future!

BeLive VIP

Pros: VIP is a must! It allows preferred seating for restaurants, private beach, private bar, and private lounge with food all day. Even free Wi-Fi. We were in building 2 right next to the VIP beach with a walk out ocean view deluxe room which was fantastic. The room was clean and well kept. Housekeeping does tend to come late in the day. Activities are all day every day and into the night. Something for everyone. Beach is nice and goes for miles...one small thing is the seaweed is heavy at times...first 2 days were bad but then it was cleaned up and stayed pretty clean. Food - most restaurants were great...a few issues getting into the steak house even though VIP guest take priority and Mexican closes earlier which was never shared so when we arrived at 8:00pm they refused to seat us. Cons: Pushy sales people everywhere you go...timeshare...vendors on the beach...even the craft vendors that come certain nights are so pushy it's almost to the point of being called aggressive. If I say no 5 times do not force it in my hand and tell me to come pay later and these were on the property vendors. I didn't go on vacation to be harassed. English is a rare spoken language by staff so prepare yourself with some basic Spanish. Amstar is not always on location. My understanding is they are only there one or two days during the week so we could not book any excursions through them. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Nicholas was fantastic from the moment we arrived. Carmen in the VIP buffet was also very friendly and remembered us each day.

It was okay, but...

This all-inclusive resort was pleasant, but not quite the four or five star experience I had in mind. The facilities are a bit dated and my room had some furniture that was a bit banged up, but it was clean and overall comfortable. I was in the VIP section (in block 7), and it was surprisingly noisy. That block is near the Theater, where they stage entertainments and musical performances almost every night. They are over by 11 p.m., but if you're trying to sleep before that time, be prepared for loud music. The VIP section of the beach was very nice, and they keep the beach fairly clean with regular raking of seaweed washing ashore. The bar service in the VIP beach area was excellent and friendly, but in the lounge it wasn't quite so friendly and they frequently ran out of the premium liquor. The restaurants were pretty good and offered a decent variety of tasty food. The buffet was good, with lots of variety. The pools around the resort were clean and for the most part not used widely except for the main pool in the center area, where they staged many fun contests and games. If you're a twenty-something college student on spring break, that pool is the place to be. However, in the evenings, the resort allowed vendors in to set up tables and the sales pressure was intense and annoying. That plus the intense beach vendors spoiled it a bit for me. Overall, it was a nice week, but I don't think I'd go back - it was a long journey from Denver, and I feel I can get the same experience for less money and less travel on the Yucatan peninsula instead.

Amazing Getaway

My boyfriend and I went on vacation here last week. It took awhile to check in because of all the spring breakers taking advantage of the lobby bar while checking in before us. On the website, I read somewhere that at the time of check-in you need to put a $250 deposit down on the room for any damages (cash or credit). To my surprise, that was only a requirement for groups of spring breakers. With that, we were wondering if it was possible to upgrade to VIP and it was with a fee of $200 per person. SO WORTH IT! VIP members had access to their own pool, bar, and even a section of the beach in addition to the rest of the resort! The beach had beds (with or without a roof for shade) and many chairs. I recommend waking early and reserving a beach bed with your towel if you want a relaxing day with a beautiful view and don't forget the unlimited drinks! Also, we were blessed to have a wonderful Butler who was more than happy to answer any questions we had and eager to make our stay memorable. At the beginning of our stay, we were consistent with tipping the bartenders but found no difference with attentiveness to those who chose not to tip. The bedroom was gorgeous with a shaded balcony. Our room didn't have an Oceanview but I still enjoyed sitting out there feeling the breeze and looking at the trees. The last night of our trip, it rained. We were content and decided to watch a movie-- but found no channels in English besides news channels. Also, remember to wash off your feet before you enter your hotel room because the housekeepers do not sweep. Overall, I'd go back in a heartbeat!
