Dream come true

If you are contemplating booking a stay at cofressi palms or any other resort that is apart of or ran by Lifestyle Holiday Vacation Club I would HIGHLY recommend it! Me and my wife went to cofressi for our honeymoon and it was amazing! Every employee is extremely happy and always willing to assist with anything big or small. Food is amazing and there is so much to choose from you probably won't have time to try it all. Beaches are amazing and the staff brings you food and drinks at no charge right to you bed or hammock or chain on the beach. The rooms are clean, stylish, up to date. 5 stars across the board! You won't be disappointed.

You get what you pay for!

Cheap Carribean: First time using this site & loved it! The service and deals were great, we even found a $100 off code when we were checking out! Cofresi /Lifestyles Resort: HORRIBLE! -waited 3 HOURS to check in! They make you wait till 3pm to check in even if you are there earlier AND check OUT is at noon! WT? We had to leave our luggage in the lobby while waiting with tons of other guests. -NO AC IN OUR ROOM! I called numerous times daily as well as went to the desk. They sent someone a few times who just opned the vent and closed it but nothing was resolved. We slept in an 80 degree room all week! -NO RESERVATION - NO DINNER! They give you 2 dinner reservations at check in (not by choice) and if you would like to make reservations for other nights you must come THAT morning to see if anything is open - if not your eating at the buffet. AND WE ATE AT THE BUFFET ALL WEEK! The 2 restaurants we did get into we so horrible - chef boy'r'de in the Italian and palm sized portions. They brag about the 10 something restaurants to eat at but we did not get to see any of those! I specifically booked our trip letting the resort know this was a bday vacation and wanted a dinner reservation for the occasion - NOPE. We ate reheated buffet food to celebrate. No shot of changing or having a reservation cancelled. -BE PREPARED FOR CARDIO! Our room was on the fourth floor - with no elevator, located in the back of the resort, about six flights of stairs away from the lobby. You can get shuttled around but usually need to be at the lobby to get a ride and share it with other guests who may push and shove to not miss the small ride. -ROOM SERVICE: there is none. All inclusive but only at the restaurants (that you cant get into) and the maids do not clean. We put the please service our room sign up everyday. If the wind blew it off we did not get a clean room - as well as if it stayed on. It seemed they only changed the towels and made the bed. Our beach sand stayed in the shower all week and on the floors. One day we were taking a late noon nap around 3pm when they decided to come in to clean - while we were sleeping naked (do to no AC!) -POOLS/BEACHES: another selling point that drew us to the resort. BUT not all beaches/pools are accessible! They use the term "VIP" loosely - YOU ARE NOT A VIP!! There is 2 beaches you are allowed on and one is located at the other resort (shuttle). There are no servers at the pools or beaches and most of the swim up bars are about 5/6 foot deep! I lost my drink before i swam back to my spot! They allow solicitors ON THE PREMISE! At the pool/beach they bug you. On the 6 flights of stairs getting up to the pools - they are there! -YOU HAVE TO BUY A SAFE FOR THE ROOM $20 -THERE IS NO FREE WIFI! YOU MUST PAY $60 for the week/1device! The weather was amazing and the ONLY plus all week! We did the CITY TOUR - awesome and informative tour MUST DO! We also did 27 Waterfalls - only did 12 but the lunch served was the best we ate all week and real Dominican food. Both tours were through Amstar/ Runners - the guides are great and you have a blast! We also booked roundtrip airport shuttle through Amstar .. our flight was at 2 but they made us check out at 9! I thought we would have a half day in the sun before leaving - NOPE! Would NOT return to DR or Cofresi WOULD use CheapCaribbean again!

Cofressi Palm Beach-The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly

We booked through and we got an amazing deal. We also purchased the transfers to and from the airport, and we were very satisfied. They were punctual and professional. Booking through gave us several advantages at the hotel. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite close to the pool and beach. It was a very nice surprise. We also requested ground floors as accommodation and it was honored. Although I don’t customarily get travel insurance for our trips, I now encourage it. We were 3 couples that booked through CheapCaribbean, unfortunately 1 of the couples were unable to go due to a stroke the day before the trip. Thank God, they were the only ones who had insurance. I called with my friend on the line and although the representative that booked our trip was not available, Theda (Ext 8044) was able to assist us. She walked us through the cancellation process. She gave us the insurance company’s information and took care of everything that had to be done in CheapCaribbean. She was just amazing. Now about Cofressi: THE GOOD The customer service and the warmth from everyone in the resort was incredibly special and very touching. From the persons who cut the grass, the bell men, the check-in staff, the young ladies in guest services, the ladies that clean the rooms, the restaurant hosts, assistant waiters, waiters, cooks, to the general manager, they were all wonderful! Everyone in the resort wanted to make sure you were ok and satisfied. Like I mentioned before, they honored our accommodation request due to our health conditions and gave us ground floor accommodations. We were granted a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite which was very nice. The room was spacious, clean, with a Jacuzzi tub, and very nicely decorated. We had a King size bed and a small refrigerator with 2 soft drinks, 2 bottles of beer and on top coffee, tea and lots of drinking water. The Cofressi is concerned with efficiency and conservation of the planet. I found eco-friendly accommodations in the rooms and common areas. The Show at the Coliseum (in the LifeStyle complex) on Thursday night, Bravisimo, was very good. If you are there on a Thursday, don’t miss it! We found that the shows, with the exception of the Tuesday night show, were better at the LifeStyle Coliseum than at the Cofressi. Although we appreciated the efforts of the dancers at the Cofressi, the talent of the dancers and singers at the Coliseum are superior to the dancers at the Cofressi. Don’t expect a Las Vegas show at the Coliseum, but it was good and superior with great singers and dancers. Reservations are required for the restaurants that are not “La Perla” or “Casablanca.” The service was excellent at both, but my husband and my friends preferred the food at the “Casablanca” located in the LifeStyle resort. I’m speaking for us, we were a group of 4, although it may have not been on the night we wanted, but we were able to get reservations to most of the restaurants we wanted. The only one we did not go to was the Mexican and there are Mexican restaurants here, so we were very happy with the ones we went to. There were many comments about the food; we found it better than what we expected from reading the reviews. The only one we were not too happy with was with the Italian, The Bellini. My lasagna was excellent, but my friend complained about her Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken. THE BAD The gigantic size of the resort and the accessibility to areas of the resort is horrible. The resort is enormous and unless you are able to climb up and down stairs, climb up and down hills, it is impossible to reach the restaurants at the Cofressi. There are trolleys and golf carts that take you to the different venues; however, you still need to climb up and down stairs to get to the restaurant. The original resort, LifeStyle, does have accessibility ramps, but it is also very large and the accessibility for us non VIP lodgers (VIPs are owners of that timeshare), is limited and mediocre. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on their website with all the beds on the beach and pool areas, that’s only in the VIP area. Our non-VIP areas only had 4 beds, and very few shaded areas to sit in. There were 2 pools close to the 42000 building and there were plenty of lounge chairs and shade, but no beds. We live in Florida and we have been to Punta Cana numerous times, and we found that the beach in Puerto Plata is horrible. It was extremely rough, strong riptides and a lot of seaweed. In addition, which may sound horrible, all the beaches in Puerto Plata have public access. Although there are security guards throughout the inside the resorts, there are none on the beach area. You have people come around you and try to sell you things. They don’t respect your space, it was very uncomfortable. There should be a security presence on the beach as well. We stayed away from the beach! In Punta Cana we had the bar staff come to the beach and around the pool area taking orders for drinks. Here that was non-existent, at least not in our non-VIP area. The pool at the main building had swim up bars, however, there were no shaded areas or beds around the pool area, although there were lounge chairs without shade. By the way, I mentioned that our room had a refrigerator, however it was NEVER restocked. The 2 bottles of soft drinks and 2 bottles of beer that were in the room when you arrived was all you got. There was NO room service. We requested a plate of fruit because I wasn’t feeling well and they told us there was no food or drink service to the rooms. To be fair, we did receive water bottles every day! Speaking of the bars, the bars did not make some common drinks like Mojitos or Caippirinas. They always pushed for the pre-mixed drinks like piña coladas or the fruit drinks, which were way too sweet. I had to tell them what to put in the drinks, and were mostly nice, with a few exceptions who didn't want to be bothered. THE UGLY We felt deceived to find that the beaches and areas we had access to did not look at all to what is shown in their website. In addition, we felt humiliated when we were turned away from an area we had been originally told we had access to and were invited to. Thursday, the day we arrived we were invited to the VIP Party next to the Coliseum at the LifeStyle. We were welcomed with a Red Carpet and a beautiful show. However, when we went by to get a drink the next day, we were turned away by the guards at the entrance! There are certain hotels that have the “Club” option, which you can have access to by paying an additional amount. Here the only way to have access to the nicer areas of the resort was to become an owner, by paying beginning at $15,000 US – all the way up to $200,000, with unlimited use for 37 years (at least that is what we were told). All you had to pay was the price for the stay, which ranged from $999 to $199 per week depending on the level you purchased. The all-inclusive option is for an additional $95 per person, per day to $60 per person per day (depending on the level you are using). We were given an additional “trial” option to get the timeshare for 20 stays that could be used in the next 25 years. This for just $4,300 if we used Visa or Master Card. We would get a room like ours for $199 for the week and $60 per person, per day for the all-inclusive. Sounds like a deal to you?For this resort, absolutely NOT! The beach was horrible, maybe it’s because they are public, but you would think they’d make an effort of making the areas in front of the resort a bit cleaner and safer from harassment!

Great Vacation

The resort is clean and beautifully landscaped. The entire staff was courteous and very helpful and the service was great. Both of the specialty restaurants we were assigned were wonderful (Blue Lagoon, sea food and Belinni's Italian.) We also enjoyed The Pearl buffet restaurant. The room we had was excellent very comfortable. We actually didn't have a negative experience while we were there.
