Would recommend; few disappointments

We arrived to the resort at 3:00 pm. Check in was simple and fast. Bell boys took us and our luggage to our room since it is such a large resort. We were told dinner started at 6:00 so we walked around the resort and had some drinks while we waited. While exploring, it started to rain. 6:00 finally comes along and we walk to one of the buffets for dinner. We are not allowed into the buffet (which is not fancy by any means) because we are damp from the rain. We decide to go sit at the bar next door for an hour or so to dry off a little. We go back to the buffet and are denied entrance again. Our flight was at 7:00 that morning so we hadn't eaten anything since 4:00 am. Other than that, the staff was super friendly! Pools were a little dirty. Hair and cups floating in them, but I guess that is expected when you're sharing a pool with lots of people. Our room wasn't the cleanest, and the bathroom ceiling was constantly dripping with condensation which kind of grossed us out. Housekeeping will enter your room at 7:30 every morning expecting you to be out of the room so they can clean it. That got a little annoying. There were no "so not disturb" signs available for use. You are guaranteed two reservations at the specialty restaurants. We ate at the Asian and Mexican restaurants and they did not disappoint! These reservations should be set up the first morning you are there. The restaurants are only open on certain days so booking them earlier will ensure you get to eat where you would like to eat. Make sure you specify that you want an alcoholic drink. We were given virgin drinks more than a couple times when we wanted alcohol. (Not a big deal) The ocean front area is a public beach and not very clean or desirable for swimming. There are a lot of locals trying to sell excursions, so beware. We were told they will take your money up front and you will never see them again. Overall, the resort was beautiful and we would go back!

A Very Relaxing Vacation

Despite a day wasted due to Jetblue Flight delay, it was a very relaxing vacation. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE POOL but not the beach. Even with the Yellow VIP wristband, we were not allowed to enter the NV VIP Beach and we informed we could only go to the Lifestyle Beach and VIP Beach Area which were crowded and full of kids. Due to the bad experience at the Beach area, we totally avoided the area, and did pool hopping instead around the two resorts. Some of the pools were not cleaned and we were quite disappointed that due to the large number of pools, only a few were cleaned daily. The main pool by COFRESI was AMAZING with 3 different levels (kids, adults, and kids/adults) and we spent most of our time there relaxing and swimming. However, the bar service by the COFRESI main pool were poor. Why have a pool bar where most of the customers have to wait for the drinks to be serve or just be ignored most of the time? At one point, we had a bartender telling us to please get out of the pool to be serve a drink (which I was appalled and disappointed). If bartenders have that kind of an attitude, then do not have a open pool bar. The room that we stayed at was comfortable, relaxing and very enjoyable. Everything was walking distance and we didn't really need a shuttle service at all (Do not let the map fool you as the places are actually not quite far at all!). The food was good at the Pearl and at Casablanca. We do recommend going there early where the waiters/waitress are not as "crazy" and are attentive to your request. For example, when going to breakfast late (around 9:30 am), the dining area at both places tend to be crazy and waiters/waitresses ignored your request and you end up getting your own drinks. Otherwise, the waiters/waitresses were pleasant and very friendly!. We especially enjoyed DINNER, especially the Dominican (coconut juice and roast pork - YUM!) and Seafood Nights! Lastly, DO NOT REMOVE YOUR WRITSTBAND until you check out or else you end up having to pay $100/wristband. We were not informed that we had to keep our wristband upon checking out and had removed it when we were in our room. The Front Desk Agent informed us that the wristband was needed upon checking out or else a $100 fee for each must be paid. We were not informed of this fact and luckily we managed to retrieve it and avoided the fee. We also recommend getting the shared van service either through Cheap Caribbean or the Resort as it made our transportation to and fro from the airport easier. FYI....WIFI is not available for free and is only available at the VIP Beach or a pay a fee to get access ($60 days for 7 days). I would definitely come back as we had a great and relaxing time.

You Get What You Pay For

I booked this trip as a last minute surprise for my husband for our anniversary. I had a tight budget, and this resort was able to accommodate it. The trip started out rocky when we walked into our first room to find that it was disgusting! Water all over the floor from the leaky AC, mosquitos flying around, hair all over the floor, and just downright nasty. We immediately went back to the lobby where another couple who checked in at the same time as us were already back there complaining about their room. At first, it didn't seem as if the manager was going to do anything about the problem, but then my husband mentioned that we own four other timeshares, and he would never consider buying into this property. This changed the managers tune quickly, and he said to grab dinner and come back at 9:30 for a room change. The second room was still a standard king, but it was more modern and most importantly, clean! The grounds and pools at all of the Lifestyles resorts are beautiful. The restaurants were also very good, but it was difficult to get into our top picks as not all of the restaurants are open every day. We were disappointed that we weren't able to get into the Dominican restaurant for that reason. One would think that this restaurant would be open 7 days a week so guests can try the delicious authentic food of this beautiful country! Would we return to Cofresi resort? Probably not Cofresi, but we would go back to the Tropical, which has nicer grounds and is on the same property as part of the Lifestyles resorts.

Would book again!!

I definitely think this trip was worth the price!! It was so cheap so at first I was nervous. We looked up a lot of reviews and most people were very negative so our expectations were low. But from the minute we got there we had a blast! Make sure you make reservations for the restaurants ahead of time and the only thing that was bad was one of the guest services ladies seemed like every time we went to make a reservation we were annoying her. But the food was awesome! Most of the staff made the trip even better! The only thing that kind of sucked was none of the restaurants had AC and we went in the middle of July. Piece of advice, stay away from the guys on the beach trying to sell you things. We wanted to ride ATVs and they said they had some but we had to get in the guys car and he would drive us. He didn't even know the name of the business and it was just a regular car with no decals or business name. To say the least we turned around. We visited the crossfit that is about 15 minutes from the resort. Fixci crossfit! I definitely recommend!!! Also, be aware that they will try their best to sell you on the VIP. They waste like an entire day of yours trying to sell you if they can saying they are going to give you a tour (which is mainly them talking about how you should get VIP). We told them no every time so they didn't waste our time but EVERYONE we met was mad they wasted their time. Its super expensive and you don't need it. So if you don't plan on it, politely decline and walk away!!
