I definitely recommend Sunscape Puerto Plata. The service is amazing, and all of the staff are nice and attentive. They did not expect tips, but they definitely deserve them. Dining and bars: There are plenty of bars and food options! I have no complaints about any of the restaurants. Dinner was amazing at the specialty restaurants, and the waiters fill up your water or wine before it's even empty. The Sun Club had even better alcohol, and the servers would come up to you on the beach and near the pool. Pool and Beach: The pools were all clean. Actually, the staff were constantly cleaning and improving the property, whether it be sifting out the bugs from the pool or painting the buildings/fences. However, this was not disruptful at all. Room: The Sun Club room is definitely worth the upgrade! So spacious, you get extra bottled water and drinks in the room, and you have two balconies and bathrooms. The housekeepers clean well every day. Overall, amazing value. You're getting a lot out of it for what you pay for. Everything is clean, and the food and drinks are plentiful.

This was advertised as new 2016 when I really should have said rebuilt 2016 as parts of the resort were clearly not new. The buffet food was good but the night dining was mediocre.. with very slow service. It seemed like there was a lot of waitstaff on but everything was disorganized. My biggest complaint ... we were no joke approached within seconds of being there after traveling all day ... to go to a presentation the next morning ... all I wanted was to do was hit the bar and the beach but instead got stuck talking to this guy and finally agree to go so we could enjoy what was left of our first day. That set me off and started our only 5 day vacation out on a sour note. Overall it was a beautiful spot. Pools were nice and we had the sun club which was well worth it. The beach itself isn't what I thought it would be ... the ocean wasn't clear. Our favorite part of the trip was the city tour of puerto plata. Don't honestly know if we would go back to this resort though .

This was our first all inclusive and it did not disappoint. Best service ever. Great excursions and room service. The nightly shows were great. Beach is not good but on an excursion we went to a beautiful beach location. Will book through Cheap Caribbean again!

I've been to dozens of all-inclusive resorts and this was the nicest one I've been to! Room was clean and super modern with flat screen tv,,free safe and nice shower with plenty of pressure along with glass door. Beach was amazing - long and fun to walk on. Great reefs, waves and plenty of room to explore and stretch. Pools were nice with swim up bar. Lobby bar made best margaritas. Food was excellent, including great brick oven pizza, specialty restaurants and fish was superb. The staff was over the top nice and courteous. They made me fresh fish and brought it to my table everyday. Only beef was that our room was near the pool bar and the disco drunks always went there at 2 am. WAY too loud most nights. The pool bar and café should be down by the disco, not in the center of the resort. Our room was at ground zero for noise despite excellent people watching. I would suggest getting a room in the back, buildings 11-15 are more secluded and quiet. Other than that, what a great resort with lots to do for everyone. We got a fabulous deal and would definitely go again.
