Good for a short Stay

We stayed at Dreams Dominicus from May 8 - 12. We had a nice time despite the fact it wasn't our best vacation. Our flight there from Ft. Lauderdale got delayed for five hours, we arrived at night so we basically missed that entire day. The service was very good, rooms are spacious, and the kids' club is phenomenal. However, our room walls were a bit dirty, which kind of surprised us since we understand this is a relatively new hotel. Food variety at "main restaurants" is not the best. For us it wasn't bad because we went for a few days only (5/4), but to those that stay a week or more menus might become repetitive. On a couple of occasion restaurant waitresses - very nice to customers!! - bickered with cooks and kitchen personnel over ordered plates and that resulted in unnecessary delays; thus, better kitchen coordination is needed. On the other hand, the World Cafe Buffet was really good. Waiter Raynel Gil was amazing, always attending to our needs promptly with a big smile on his face, very knowledgeable of his work as well as the history of his country. Concierge service personnel is nice, but pushy to sell AMResorts' vacation packages. We arrived to the Hotel with the idea that we could also enjoy the amenities of Dreams La Romana (another chain resort nearby), but once there we were told we could only do it if we agreed to a "90 minute" pitching sale over breakfast at that resort. We refused as those pitching sales end up taking the whole day and we were there for a few days only. Overall, we were there to have a good time and we did. The pool area and the beach were very good and the animation crew although not fancy, were very fun. We could definitely come back, but for a short time only.

Never Again

The resort is not 20 minutes from the airport as the website suggested. I was very irritated when I learned that the ride was1 1/2 hours long. When I got to the resort, there new construction being done both in front and next door to the resort. There was a foul odor of sewage coming the bathroom, which gave me headache and made me nauseous. The shower was not cleaned before I got there. When I complained, someone came to fix the issues and removed the clumps of hair that was preventing the shower from drain properly. The food was average at best. The buffet had plenty of chicken and I can eat chicken home without the price tag. They need to do a better job of keeping the flies out of the buffet .he windows by the Italian Market need screens to keep out the pests. Portofino, the Iltain inspired restaurant, also served chicken and not very good chicken. Alredo sauce was thick and pasty. Sea Grille was ok except for the waitress (Walika), rude! I would not stay at this Resort again and I would encorage others not to stay here. You work hard for your money, spend it somewhere else. I wish someone would have told me.

Super vacation

My first time with chepcarribean and Dream Dominicus!!!!! I was traveling with different companies , but this was the best!!!! Amstar transportation was excellent! Check in fast and easy! Room clean , big enough and u can set your AC as desire , bathrobes, plenty towels , etc. Service very good , food much better then in different places, big variety, fresh and tasty, entertainment group enthusiastic and fun, , beach good ( maybe need more umbrellas later) no cards for towels , which is perfect. I would say it might be my best vacation ever!!!! Dream Dominicus you great!!!!
