Family Trip Sept 2016

Pros- 1) Clean property 2) Good Price $$$ for all inclusive resort 3) Staff is friendly and works hard to keep guests entertained 4) Liberia buffet was great and managed well for the number of people coming in and out. 5) Added security for guests - My travel agent had to fill all details at the security door while taking us on excursions. Felt very safe that someone knows where we are and whom to ask if we go missing? AWESOME of peace of mind! 6) Lots of entertainment throughout the day from aqua classes to ping pong and night entertainment. 7) Room was spacious and clean. 5th floor facing forest. King and double bed for family of 4 which was great! Cons- 1) Kids club small and non-existent. We did use them once when we went to get a couples massage but kids got bored :(. 2) Dinner restaurants now don't need reservations but the food served was all but OK. Limited dinner menu and mostly buffet or served cold. They also don't serve alcohol or cocktails in restaurants. 3) Swim bars always crowded and adults were taking drink into the pool and we saw few classes floating in the pool. So no precautions for kids who are swimming in the same pool. 4) Wine like water so you need to ask for STRONG drinks everytime. 5) Room Towels and Pillows suck. Towels are thick cardboard like and non-absorbent. Pillows are very thin and slim. General CR comments - Lots of mosquitoes. Deet bug sprays don't work on them. Me and my son got bitten a lot :(.

Awesome Time !!!

I have to say I had an awesome time at the Rui, My wife and I went for a week (.Aug 29th) . The staff was really friendly and attentive. I especially would like to praise Delma who very attentive during our stay there, during breakfast and dinner she would always be there to serve us , very friendly and a pleasure to be around. The pool staff and activities were good. The food was good as well. The Nightly entertainment was good as for the band the sound system was horrible they need to upgrade the sound system we were unable to hear the music as well as the people speaking., Also the Rui should consider having a DeeJay after the band , a deejay that plays various types of music so that the guest who want to continue partying can do so after 11pm . I know they have the club Parcha but why go across the street to the club and pay for drinks when the club is part of the hotel, other than these cons I really Had a great time and I would recommend this resort to my family and friends.

Beautiful but lacking comfort

Beautiful resort in nice oceanfront area but food was not good. Bed was really hard, towels were like sand paper, really rough. Too bad because the resort itself was really nice. Would not go back and stay there again!!!

Awesome

My family vacation at the Riu was awesome!! The food was delicious and a wide variety of choices however The Italian restaurant food was not great. The nightly entertainment was well choreographed but unfortunately it was in Spanish so non Spanish speakers like myself did not find it interesting also during the day there were not too many entertainment staff. The few only spoke Spanish and not very friendly in rounding up vacationers for the very few activities. We spent a few days visiting Coco beach. We also enjoyed ziplining ,horseback riding , mud bath, water slide etc.

What's to Love

The all-inclusiveness: the food, the drinks, the everything.

Three sparkling pools, surrounded by lush greens keep you refreshed and cool. Pool side bars quench your thirst.

The liquor dispenser in the room lets you craft your own cocktail (soda water and mixers are stocked in the fridge.)

The beach isn't crowded and the tropical background adds to its peacefulness. Find your perch.

The stunner of a view with green lush landscapes and rolling mountains off in the distance - breathtaking.

Riu knows how to put on a show and the live entertainment day and night won't disappoint.

Some great rocks nearby for snorkeling - pack your own gear if you want to make sure you get a mask.

What We'd Change

The walk from the lobby to the pool doesn't offer much shade. Luckily, the pool's swim-up bar offers quick relief with ice-cold beer.

Why You Should Go

Riu is not far from the airport in Liberia - a quick 20 minutes to your tropical oasis.

A great spot for adventure-seeking tourists with excursions like Rincon Nature Park and the Safari Park nearby.

The beachy tan sands are sometimes rocky under the water - just grab shoes to wear & you'll be set.

Laid-back Costa Rican resort with lots to experience in the area - unique foliage and wild life add to the charm.

Much-needed spa time lets you get uber relaxed - massages, steam baths, facials in tropical paradise.

Activities galore - tennis, ping pong, beach volleyball, windsurfing, kayaks, paddle boards. Game on.
