Best vacation purchase ever

Don't listen to any of those bad reviews. After I booked my vacation package I found myself reading all about the horror stories others wrote about. I had a pain in the pit in my stomach worrying about it and thought, OMG what have I done?!?!?!? Use your brain and common sense. Don't book your vacation during spring break and hurrican season and you'll be fine. Spend the extra 5 bucks a day for a safe and secure your belongings. Don't be a road worrier and venture out on your own in unfamililar teritory unless you are with a guided tour and you'll be fine. We spend two days visiting the Mayan Pirimids and Temples in Tulum, Coba and Chichen Itza. We racked up about 300 miles each day and had the benifit of visiting other cities and villages beside Cancun which enriched the whole experiance. We had the best time of our lives. Non stop fun. Food and drinks were great. By the way, the drinks were not watered down. Besides, you can drink all you want, all day long, so what's the problem if they were? The nightly shows (free) at the grand Hotel next door were spectacular and better than some events I paid for in NY. Don't bother exchanging your money just bring a lot of singles ($1. bills ). About $200 worth. Or you can hit the bell hop for some at the end of the night. Take a bus up and down the strip into town instead of a taxi and stay out of the torist traps when shopping and you'll do great. Oh! One more thing... when you land at the airport in Cancun, Run... don't walk... staight to the bus (out side) that takes you to the hotel. Avoid stopping at those friendly guys at the tour kiosks near the exit. They trick you into believing they were sent to pick you up. They are looking to fix you up with l a time share presentation for discounted tours. They pocket the tour money you give them and They also make money if you show up for the presentation. You can alway figure out what you want to do after you've checked in and spent some time experiancing the whole place without presure. Now that I've learned a few things, I plan on doing this again real soon. Thanks Oasis! you'r staff works very hard and you guys didn't let me down.

AWESOME ALL-INCLUSIVE!!

I was a little skeptical of what this resort was going to be like after i read the mixed reviews on different people's experiences. But now that I'm back from my first awesome all-inclusive 6 day vacation at the Oasis Cancun I can write my own review.... This vacation was so great! We went the last week of October. The place was not crowded at all...it was perfect!! There is a young, upbeat, fun, vibe to the place. I wouldn't recommend it for old people or kids... mainly because there is fun music and entertainment going on all the time. The pool is large and there is plenty of room to grab your own spot; and the swim up bar is great! There are comfortable lounge chairs and private little bungalows on the beach and by the pool! The hotel is connected to the Grand Oasis hotel. They all share everything. The place is huge. You could an upgrade to a black wrist band if you choose to for more $$...which gets you into some more restaurants, but we thought the food was great so there was no need The rooms were good. They were clean...not dirty like others have reported. The beds were comfortable and the maid service comes everyday. The food - there is one large buffet and two nice restaurants (Mexican & Italian). And sushi made everyday by the pool. I liked eating at both restaurants...the food was so delicious!! We ate at the buffet for breakfast mostly and there was a sports bar that served.burgers and fries. The alcohol -anything you want!! (mixed drinks, shots, wine, and beer) And the drinks are not weak! The beer was Dos XX = so good!) It was all you can drink all day everyday! Had a buzz for six days straight! So great! There was one club which awesome too! Went on a fun snorkeling excursion and shopped around downtown Cancun. We felt safe the whole time. Overall an awesome all inclusive, you won't be disappointed!!

Know your Building

I arrived at the hotel, to be checked into a room that was adjacent the Coyote Loco bar in the "spring break" section of the hotel. Oasis Cancun has 4 sections to it, plus Grand Oasis. You don't know where you are going unless you have done this before. I checked in and the noise level was unbelievable. My room was no better since it was next to the spring break bar on the first floor. There was no sleeping that night, and finally there was a bit of silence around 7am the next morning. Luckily, the CheapCaribbean.com rep was there to help us secure a different room, that included having to upgrade to another building entirely, which we gladly did. The other hotel (to the right of the Grand Oasis if you are facing it from the street), was much quieter and is considered the 'family' hotel. Unless you are 18 - 24, I absolutely do not recommend using the two buildings to the left of the Grand Oasis (if you are facing it from the street). These are monopolized by the spring break crowd which is great if that's what you are there for. I went in January so I had no idea it would be that wild (this group were on a break from Canada). The hotel is fairly well divided once you know your way around, and kids and families generally steer clear of the drunk college crowd, and vice versa. The hotel itself runs extremely well given all the restaurant options. I'm not critical of the drunk crowd, but I am disappointed that the hotel staff did not seem to distinguish the difference between the guests. The website should be more specific about what you are booking and what you should book, depending on what you are looking for.

What's to Love

The Oasis Cancun Hotel is party central, perfect for young people celebrating life. The resort has its own nightclub, but it is also convenient to the nightlife of downtown Cancun.

What We'd Change

Oasis Cancun doesn't offer room service and the rooms don't include refrigerators. On the other hand, who needs a refrigerator when you have ten restaurants and eleven bars on site?

Why You Should Go

You can't find a more spectacular setting than this property, bordered on the east by half a mile of brilliant, white, Caribbean beach and to the west by the still, dark waters of Nichupte Lagoon.

Hotel Description

Oasis Cancun: It's an All-Inclusive Party Central

The pyramid-shaped building at the heart of Oasis Cancun, inspired by Mayan architecture, charms you. Invigorating breezes, from the half-mile beach, delight you. The famed nightlife of Cancun excites you. Get ready to party! Night is when Cancun comes alive and you will too at Oasis Cancun. All Inclusive perks include two live shows weekly, featuring the music and dance of Mexico and the Caribbean. If you want to do more than watch, check out Up and Down Night Club.

Situated on a barrier island embraced by the Caribbean Sea, to the east, and Nichupte Lagoon, to the west, the 490-yard, free-form resort pool, one of the largest in Latin America, features three swim-up bars and waterfalls connecting its sections. Just navigating this pool is an adventure. From the resort marina on the lagoon side, you can take a leisurely paddleboat tour of the lagoon; or, if you feel more energetic, kayak across. Non-motorized water sports are part of the all inclusive package.

The complimentary nine-hole, par-3 golf course, is also on the lagoon side of the resort. If you're willing to travel a little, think about an excursion to the splendid Mayan pyramids at Chichen Itza, just two hours by car. If you're a thrill-seeker, nearby zip lines, reputed to be among the longest in Latin America, are a must. And the concierge knows all about the nightclubs on the famed Cancun hotel strip!

When you enter your room at the end of the day, you step into a different world. Dark woods and wrought-iron furnishings perfectly accent the terracotta walls and marble floors. Throw in a bedspread with a traditional Mexican pattern, and you've got an inviting spot to end the day.

Guests staying at the Oasis Cancun on an all-inclusive basis will be able to visit and enjoy Oasis Palm, Grand Oasis Palm or Oasis Tulum. So, get ready to have some fun in Cancun!
