10 Year Anniversary

The hotel staff helped us celebrate our 10 year anniversary by decorating our room with rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed & sprinkling the room with rose petals. The wine and fruits were also a very nice touch. The room service at 10:30 pm was tasty, fast and convenient, although we had to ring for a while before we got an answer. We didn't have to make any reservations for the restaurants and we enjoyed the Bahia Rodizzio, Tunkul, and Joys Trattoria. Our server Yudith Antonio Lopez was "numero uno" and should be recognized for her outstanding customer service. The Mayan show in the lobby was awesome and we enjoyed the Sensilicious show as well. Because our stay was so short, we had to be selective in our activities, and was so glad that we decided on an all day tour to Chichenitza and to the Centote Ik Kil, with Passion Tours. Our guides on the tour Carlos, Manuel, Tony and driver Rojelio, were top notch. The tour guide at the site, Manual, was very informative. It was an experience to step foot on one of the world's Seven Greatest Wonders and should be a MUST DO, while visiting Mexico. We ended the tour with a swim in the Cenote Ik Kil and although it was crowded, the water was refreshing and cleansing. The only thing that I didn't like about the tour is that we didn't have enough time to support the local vendors at the site. As for the hotel, the drinks at the Oasis Cancun were good, but could've been colder. The only negative thing was that the pool water was so warm, it felt like bath water...not very refreshing.. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.. Next time, we plan to stay longer so we can see more of the historical sites and have more time to enjoy the beach and the amenities of the hotel.

the resort was nicer than expected but no ac or even fans in most restaurants or elevators unless you upgraded to the premium package. VIP package is only average and doesnt give you access to all restaurants. Its also very dark in most restaurants and in the room buildings. when we got to our room we walked into a huge puddle on the floor, had to call the front desk repeatedly and no answer, the operator finally connects us to someone. they upgraded us to a junior suite which was nice and had a great view the food was mediocre at best and bc most restaurants were so hot the food temperature was off, everything was room temperature even things that should be cold - drinks were room temperature as well. theres a lot of restaurant choices but 4 are upgrades and 2 are better than the others we ordered room service on our last night and it was horrible and made us queasy. on the last night it was also pouring and the ceiling in our bathroom leaked the whole night and no one ever came to fix it. the electricity also went out for hours and finally came back up in the morning the pools and beaches were nice though. the decor is nice and most of the staff is friendly and try to accommodate as much as they can.

left in the desert

As we went on our ATV tour we was left out there(desert) for hours had to pay someone to take us back to the hotel. On the day of leaving I had to pay a cab to take us to the airport when I paid in package for transportation. Nobody knows anything when it came to pick up's and drop off's. I spent more money traveling around Mexico then any thing else. The pools need to be contentedly cleaned as it was dirty. The elevators was always down/broken. The beach made up for what the oasis lacked.

Party Only Oasis

The resort seems like a place that would only be suitable for a week during Spring Break in college. There was so much construction on every part of the hotel that it became a maze trying to navigate and just get back to our room. Not to mention the constant pounding in every room surrounding the one they put us in that started early in the morning and seemed to never end. The beds were awful and barely made with top sheets. The dresser in our room was in shambles and not even functional. And the only light available in our room were two super dim reading lamps next to each bed. The food was another story.. it seems like they are trying so hard to please the tourist that they forget that people go to Mexico to enjoy Mexican food! The rest was filled with food that seemed like it had been sitting out for days in the hot sun. We came across a lot of food that seemed stale or too dried. The other issue seemed to be a lack of air conditioning that worked, room keys that worked, and wifi that worked. Not just from my own experience but that of others I met while staying there could not get the wifi to work at all. They charged you for use of wifi and even the one day free wifi I received was not even worth the energy trying to set it up. Our keys also stopped working 4-5 times in the course of a week. And even if staff members walked by while my key was not working, they would not help out. I had to trek back through the construction which blocked off major parts of our building and wait in long lines at reception to get a new key. There was even one night this happened where the staff member was ignoring me completely. I know I do not speak Spanish much but I do my best to try and I was still ignored. Overall, I would not go back to this hotel. The lack luster accommodations and terrible food choices left me hungry and counting down the seconds to be home. No one should feel like that on vacation.

What's to Love

The Oasis Cancun Hotel is party central, perfect for young people celebrating life. The resort has its own nightclub, but it is also convenient to the nightlife of downtown Cancun.

What We'd Change

Oasis Cancun doesn't offer room service and the rooms don't include refrigerators. On the other hand, who needs a refrigerator when you have ten restaurants and eleven bars on site?

Why You Should Go

You can't find a more spectacular setting than this property, bordered on the east by half a mile of brilliant, white, Caribbean beach and to the west by the still, dark waters of Nichupte Lagoon.

Hotel Description

Oasis Cancun: It's an All-Inclusive Party Central

The pyramid-shaped building at the heart of Oasis Cancun, inspired by Mayan architecture, charms you. Invigorating breezes, from the half-mile beach, delight you. The famed nightlife of Cancun excites you. Get ready to party! Night is when Cancun comes alive and you will too at Oasis Cancun. All Inclusive perks include two live shows weekly, featuring the music and dance of Mexico and the Caribbean. If you want to do more than watch, check out Up and Down Night Club.

Situated on a barrier island embraced by the Caribbean Sea, to the east, and Nichupte Lagoon, to the west, the 490-yard, free-form resort pool, one of the largest in Latin America, features three swim-up bars and waterfalls connecting its sections. Just navigating this pool is an adventure. From the resort marina on the lagoon side, you can take a leisurely paddleboat tour of the lagoon; or, if you feel more energetic, kayak across. Non-motorized water sports are part of the all inclusive package.

The complimentary nine-hole, par-3 golf course, is also on the lagoon side of the resort. If you're willing to travel a little, think about an excursion to the splendid Mayan pyramids at Chichen Itza, just two hours by car. If you're a thrill-seeker, nearby zip lines, reputed to be among the longest in Latin America, are a must. And the concierge knows all about the nightclubs on the famed Cancun hotel strip!

When you enter your room at the end of the day, you step into a different world. Dark woods and wrought-iron furnishings perfectly accent the terracotta walls and marble floors. Throw in a bedspread with a traditional Mexican pattern, and you've got an inviting spot to end the day.

Guests staying at the Oasis Cancun on an all-inclusive basis will be able to visit and enjoy Oasis Palm, Grand Oasis Palm or Oasis Tulum. So, get ready to have some fun in Cancun!
