A couple of my friends and I went and it was a great trip!! The whole black wristband and purple wristband are a little over the top though and kind of pointless. they should just do one whole wristband or one package or whatever. the food options could have been better, we were told we have plenty of options with out wristband but some places still wouldn't let us eat there. Ibiza was honestly the best restaurant we ate at, the service was good and the food was amazing. The steak was the best, probably ate that almost everyday. the rooms were pretty bare but i could understand that since almost all of us were college spring breakers. the shower pressure could have been better and they should probably inform you that there is a glass wall for the bathroom so if you're rooming with your boyfriend and a friend it might get a little weird. i wish they would have told us more about what activities were going on in the resort while we were there because there would always been events going on but would never hear about them until the next day. I definitely feel like they should think about adding one or two more bars so not everyone is at one or crowding one. My friends and I definitely plan on coming back next year and possibly the year after because we loved it and it was such a fun time with all our friends and other college spring breakers. The only real problem we had was that my money had been stolen out of my room and my boyfriends brother had gotten his bag and passport stolen from his room. Other than that its a great resort and I would recommend it to other friends and college students.

Overall good but definitely lots of issues

You certainly get what you pay for with this resort. There were good aspects and bad. On the bright side, the rooms were very nice and clean. The bathroom was neat as well. The mini-bar is restocked every day free of charge and the pool area is quite clean as well. Also, an all-inclusive package was great for a spring break student who was trying to plan a trip on a budget. Be mindful though that going out to clubs located off the resort is very expensive. It changes each night but it is certainly not cheap. There is a "spring break fee" where everyone has to pay $30 when they check-in. The catch is that they do not tell you beforehand that the fee can only be paid in cash - and then good luck getting the ATM to work! The ATM in the lobby was broken for the entire 7 days we were there. There is another ATM in the "Pyramid" however, if you are staying with the Grand Oasis Lite you do not have the correct colored wristband to enter that building and it is a hassle to get into the Pyramid. Plus, when we did, the ATM there was out of cash. On the same note, check-in was a nightmare. There were only two sets of people in front of us, quite a short line, or so we thought. However, getting through check-in took over an hour. The process needs to be much more streamlined. As we were waiting in line multiple people approached us saying that their room keys did not work in their doors and that check-in desk was making them pay money to replace the faulty keys. Luckily, we did not have this problem, but we heard from many others that did. On the Grand Oasis Lite website, there is a list of amenities included with the all-inclusive package. One of those is "non-motorized water sports" including kayaking, aquatic bikes, and snorkeling. There is a representative from Aquaworld (the company that you go to in order to do these activities) that stays by the pool. When we spoke to this representative to inquire about snorkeling he said that this was not a free service and that the website was wrong. We went to the front desk to inquire about this discrepancy and they said that there was nothing they could do to help us but to try going to the concierge. Good luck finding anyone that can point you in the direction of the concierge. Finally, we spoke with a Student City representative who was able to tell us where it was after we asked multiple hotel employees who did not know. When we spoke with the concierge he said he was sorry and to speak to the Cheap Caribbean representative - who was located in the Pyramid where we technically could not enter. However, we then spoke to an STS representative who was very blunt with us and told us snorkeling was simply not included and that the Grand Oasis website was incorrect. The hotel does not provide free wifi, and cellular service is spotty at the resort. I went with friends and among us we had three different cellular service providers but no one had good service. However the wifi you purchase is expensive and not much better. A waste of money. The last difficulty was the bar. Granted we went during spring break when the resort was very crowded. However, it was nearly impossible to move around much less to be served at the night club "Coyote Loco." Even though it is all-inclusive, the bartenders are far less likely to give you any attention unless you tip them each time you get a drink. All-in-all the resort was a bargain and if you can deal with a few headaches it is worth it.

Would spend the extra money for nicer hoel

Overall the resort was great. I stayed in Oasis Cancun Lite and got a certain wristband that didn't let us in hardly any restaurants. We got into 2 buffets and 1 sushi place. Their website showed we could get into a lot more which was bullsh*t. There was one bar that was open at night that we were allowed in, we could not get into the clubs that was for higher end wrist bands. I expected if I pay for an all inclusive resort that I get what I pay for, yet the only way to go out and have fun was to pay more to go to downtown cancun. During the day was fun except the bartenders started to limit our drinks. What is that all about!? It's ALL INCLUSIVE. Since we only had 3 places to eat at they were extremely packed and took a good 2 hours to get a seat which was a buzz kill. Would not recommend this place unless it was Oasis Pyramid.

What's to Love

An all-inclusive resort where you get it all at a great price.

The resort sits on an almost half-mile of snow-white, soft, sandy beach. Get those toes ready.

It has the longest pool in Cancun - it's a quarter-mile long. (You can find your own Private Idaho in it.)

The non-stop crazy fun: themed parties, dancing, shows & more.

The frosty drinks at the swim-up bar. The day drinking is on.

What We'd Change

Oasis Cancun Lite doesn't offer room service, but there are plenty of spots throughout the resort to grab snacks.

Why You Should Go

It's a short 15 minutes away from the airport. Your first frosty vacay cocktail is a heartbeat away.

You can rent a Smart car, and zip around Cancun in style.

You can burn off those margaritas with aerobics, yoga and Zumba.

There's a nine-hole, par 3 golf course that's on-site at the resort.

Water sports at the resort: kayaks, snorkeling and aquatic bikes. Splish splash.

Stress-busting, poolside massages overlooking the turquoise Caribbean. Melt.
