Harbor Resort April 2013
Hotel was nice. Room clean. Food surprisingly good.
Most vegetables overcooked, but that's the only bad thing I could say.
Buffet had different regional menu every night. Every night had at least one item which I really enjoyed, some nights several.
Hotel is a few blocks from the big resort on the island, so can go to their Casino. Concierge was helpful.
Pool was nice. No beach to speak of, a little sand looking out over the industrial side of the harbor.
Most of staff very friendly and helpful.
We arrived at the hotel late on a Sunday afternoon. After showering we headed down for dinner. It was buffet-style and there were many options to choose from. On that night, they were grilling steaks on the patio. We were impressed from the get-go. Talking with another guest from Canada who has vacationed all over the Caribbean, including Cuba; commented that this was the best all-inclusive for the money he had ever stayed at. The décor is tired and the building needs a serious overhaul (fixtures, along with the furniture) - true. But that's why you won't pay premium prices to stay there. We brought our two young daughters with us and they were thrilled with our stay there. The pool is clean, the drinks at the poolside bar were flowing and they were serving all of the fast food favorites all day there. We walked over to Atlantis to see the aquarium after 6PM when admission was free (the friendly staff passed along that tip). While there, we observed the superior beauty of the building but it was PACKED....crammed full of people. That was a huge turnoff. We were happy to get back to our little resort that evening, in time for dinner. Based on advice of many, we avoided the tourist trap of the Atlantis Waterpark and instead spent our money at the Ardastra Zoo, where we saw the world famous marching flamingos. Because the hotel is located on the harbor side of Paradise Island (meaning, the inlet between Paradise Island and Nassau-proper), the beach is not what you'd expect but it's good enough. It's private and there are hammocks and chaise lounges in abundance. I understand that this hotel will be going through a major renovation next April - which will bring this hotel up to 5 star standards. Once that happens, you can pretty much assume that you will be paying 5 star prices to stay there. So, I would advise people to take advantage of the deals now before they're gone.

Best bang for your buck!!!
Just got back on 4/15. Some of the reviews I read before going were spot on. It is an old clean building but there were more positive things to focus on. Food was great! Pool was smaller than we"re used to but nice and clean. Honestly after a day at Atlantis (overcrowded, smelly and a zoo like atmosphere) I started to appreciate my time at Harbour Resort! It felt like a private vacation with service at your call all day and night. The nicest people in the hospitality industry period. (5 stars for the employees at Harbour) Maybe Atlantis should use them for standards....just saying. We will be back in the summer especially for the outdoor hammock and some rum cake!!! soooo yummy! Thank you all!!

Great vacation / great location!!!
The hotel is older, and we were told will be renovated next year in the spring to make it larger and updated. If the service from the staff remains the same it will surely be a 5 star resort. We cannot say enough of good things about our trip. The staff, in the resort, bars, and restaurants are top notch. Everyone went out of their way to make you feel like you were truly on vacation and feel "Welcome" in the Bahamas! The DJ's and Shawny, the entertainment director, were a lot of fun!! We chose this location to be close to the harbor, water taxis, and shopping. If you want a good experience, at a good price, with great people, everyone, from the the front door to the back door at the pool bar are awesome!!! We enjoyed it so much, we did not want to leave, and we ready to go back! Thanks to everyone at the Paradise Island Harbor Resort!!

There are several golf courses on paradise island, but not at the Paradise Island Resort. But the deal I got was great for 2 people including air, hotel, rides to and from the hotel and all you can eat and drink. Can't beat it...

The weather in the Bahamas at this time of year is usually mild - between 65 and 75 degrees with a 25-30% chance of rain. The $299 special is based on double occupancy, so single travelers won't be eligible for that particular rate. There are swim with the dolphins excursions too, and they range from $100-$200 per person depending on what you're looking for.

My wife and I just returned from paradise island (May 11th). The weather is beautiful 85 and sunny every day, not a single drop of rain. Bring sunscreen, you will get burnt. There are swim with the dolphin options, but you will have to pay extra.

The weather there were awesome, warm but a constent breeze all the time. It rain once in the morning, but by the time you get up eat and get dressed it was gone. The pool wasn't warm nor was it cold... felt good. The ocean water was warm too. You can do a day with the dolphins for 98.00 includes pick up, boat ride dolphins one on one and back...

The weather in November was very pleasant for our stay - low to mid 80s in the day and around 71-74 at night.
The pool is not heated. Water was a bit chilly in pool.
There is a swim with dolphins option, but we did not go. I *highly* recommend booking any snorkeling or scuba with Stuart Cove. They were very professional with great staff and equipment. The Stuart Cove snorkeling was the best part of our entire trip!

The pool and lagoon area were both pretty cool waters, the pool isn't heated at all, and though cold when you first get in, it becomes comfortable very quickly.

Yes, this resort is all inclusive. There is a buffet-style dining hall serving breakfast from 7-11AM, lunch from 12-2PM and dinner from 6-10PM. There is also a "sit-down" restaurant where you can make reservations and dine Monday-Saturday from 6-10PM. There is a poolside bar and grill serving food and drinks from 10AM-10PM and a lobby bar serving drinks from 6PM-1AM. All food/drinks are included in the price of the room and you get a bracelet upon checking in.

Yes it includes all meals. The main buffet serves Breakfast from like 6-10am; lunch from 12pm-2pm, and dinner from 6pm-9pm. But they also have a grill outside that you can order food from like 10am-11pm. Everyday they have a them for dinner, and breakfast is usually the same. For breakfast I loved that they have a lady who makes omlets to order. they also have a nice restaurant you have to make reservations for, me and my husband DID NOT like that food at all.

Yes, the resort is all inclusive. Food, alcohol, hotel. You do not have to pay for anything except if you want bottled water and you get that at the front desk. I bought a bottle then when done took the empty bottle to the poolside bar (Wahoo) and filled it up with tap water.

As with any property, there sometimes can be mechanical issues, but the resort is actively working to fix the issues to make sure that everything is up and running properly as soon as possible.

Towel availability can be limited as it depends on the resort's occupany level. It is not a bad idea to bring a towel with you as some resorts may also charge a fee if you should lose or misplace their towels.

Yes the hotel gives you a card that you trade in for a beach towel and you can get a new towel anytime. I'm not sure about your second question.

As you know the Atlantis is a large property with quite a few elevators. As with any property, there are maintenance issues which are continually addressed. The Atlantis strives to address these issues as quickly as possible with a minimum amount of inconvenience to the guests.

Paradise Island Harbour Resort has a private, manmade tanning beach with a boardwalk. The resort is also a short eight-minute walk to Paradise Island beach.

If you wanna swim and have a nice beach day you should go to the blue lagoon it is much better there.
The other beach close to the resort is the Cabbage beach you can swim there but is very busy and you might get run over by a jetski.

It is safe because they have it fenced off. In other words, nothing can get in or out.. However, I would not recommend this hotel at all. The ocen/beach area is small and the hotel is gross, old & dirty.

The pool is not safe and they dont have a beach. I know that it looks like they have access to the beach but they dont ... there is a fence so you cannot get in the water. We had all inclusive package, we stayed there 6 days and we ended up eating out and paying passes to the Atlantis every day so we could enjoy our vacation. Poor, poor, poor ... dont waste your time and money going there.

The pool is decent but the beach is quite gross in my opinion. The sand and chairs are nice but the water is in the harbour and it looked as if it had a film of oil/boat fuel in it. Plus the beach at this resort is very small!

Yes, it is actually very safe. There is an enclosed beach area with a rock wall of sorts and netting to keep undesirables away.

in downtown Nassau, you can take a taxi into town, they charge per person, there is a small club in the hotel, there may be a bigger one in the Casino though, we did not go there. It is 2 blocks away a 10 minute walk in the Atlantis Resort on the Island.

According to the resort's web site: The buses (also called jitneys) are generally 32-seaters and travel to many parts of the island. They operate from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, except on Sundays when there is reduced service. The fare ranges from $1.25 per person to $3.50 for out-of-town zones. Exact fare is required. Check with your hotel's bell desk for bus routes.

Most resort base the price for the room off of adult double occupancy. If you have children in the room, there might not be a charge for them to be in the room, so it could end up being the same price.

We got the airport transfer. It was about an hour with the traffic. $32 for a taxi or more, so the Cheap Caribbean transfer was a better deal. Small shopping area on island, just a couple blocks away, toward Atlantis. Taxi from resort to main island advertised for $9. And they all take US currency.

used Majestic Tours to get to and from airport - I don't remember the price because we chose it as part of our package. There is a little strip mall about a block away and a straw market.

There are taxis waiting outside the airport terminal. A sign says $32 but that it not true. Ask the taxi driver his charge before you get in the cab. Ours charged $35 for first 2 people plus $3 per extra person. If you can find someone that is going to the same resort as you, you can go together and split the cost between you. If you go to Paradise Is., there is a $1 toll charge (per car) to to get in. Some drivers ask you for the dollar and others paid it. We tipped our drivers $5 but that is up to you to decide what to give.

A valid credit card may be required upon check-in for possible incidentals not

Minimum Stay

Spring Break and Grad Week Policy
March and April are U.S. College Spring Break, and June is Graduation Month.
This resort accepts "Spring Breakers," as well as groups of high school seniors
(through approved student-tour operators only), and therefore may be occupied
by large numbers of students younger than 21 during these months.
During the periods of Mar 1-Apr 30, 2013, and Jun 1-Jul 10, 2013, the minimum age for check-in is 21 years old. The hotel reserves the
right to deny check-in to any registering guest under the age of 21 who is not
accompanied by an adult. Spring breaker guests under the age of 24 are required
to pay a refundable security deposit of $100 per guest at check-in (amount
subject to change without notice). This deposit will be returned at checkout if
