So So

Staff was very friendly. Dining options were OK. Didn't seem like there was a lot in the way of entertainment in-house. Definitely need to hire more bartenders for the bars, especially the lobby bar in the evenings. Lounge chairs by pool go fast. Room was so-so. Carpet was kinda dirty. Should include more in the minibar in room too.

Great beach vacation

We stayed 4 nights. Weather was windy but that didn't keep us from laying on the beach each day. Beautiful beach, nice pools. Food was good and room was nice. Wish we could have stayed longer! We were definitely pleased with our experience at Melia.

40th Birthday Vaca!

First off, we have never booked a trip through Cheap Caribbean and the process was seamless and simple. We were a little leery about the Melia after reading reviews, as we are used to more 4-5 star accommodations. It was just my husband and I for my 40th Birthday week, and all I wanted to do was lay out & drink fruity drinks so mission accomplished, we had a GREAT time! Our flight came in early morning we were checked right in with no problem. There was a server in the lobby who greeted us with Bahama Mamma's (loved that!) The room was nice, the view was amazing! Just a few tips for the next travler...get the app Open Table and make your dinner reservations a few days before your trip. We did that and it was perfect! Also...The hotel is a little older so the hallways look a little dingy but they really make up for it in the common areas, bars, pools and restaurants. If you have a hard time getting hot water don't freak out (like I did) just run the tub faucet for a few minutes until the water warms up then turn the shower on. That seriously was our only issue that really wasn't an issue at all because your in the Bahamas! We did opt for the transport offered by Magestic, if I were you I would get it but only on arrival to the Melia. Just get a taxi back to the airport on departure it's easier and only like $22. We did take the public bus to downtown shopping and that was ok. Don't eat at Senior Frogs. Total tourist trap. 4 beers and split a sandwich $67!! We took a taxi to The Queens Staircase that was awesome! The BEST was our day trip to Atlantis. We did the Dolphin encounter, played some slot machines and shopped. Had a fantastic time! Overall we had a great trip!

MELIA RESORT

THE MELIA RESORT, ONE OF THE FINEST HOTEL BEACHES WEVE BEEN TO.A CONSTANT BREEZE WITH VERY CALM BEACH WAVES. GREAT SNORKELING ON A MANMADE REEF THAT YOU CAN WALK TO. ALL SORTS OF WATER ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN.WATCH THE CRUISE SHIPS AND MULTI MILLION DOLLAR YAHTS MOTOR INTO NASSAU. THE HOTEL POOLS ARE CLEAN AND WELL KEPT.THE HOTEL GROUNDS ARE CLEANED DAILY AND WELL DESIGNED.THE ROOMS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AND VERY CLEAN. HOTEL STAFF IS HELPFULL AND FRIENDLY.THE DOWNTOWN IS A SHORT TEN MINUTE RIDE AND VERY ENJOYABLE . TAXI DRIVERS ARE VERY WILLING TO BE TOUR GUIDES .THE ISLAND HAS A VERY RICH , HISTORY AND THE LOCALS ARE PROUD AND WILLING TO SHARE IT WITH YOU.MY ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS RESORT WAS THE FOOD. I WANTED A TASTE OF BAHAMA AND INSTEAD I FELT THE HOTEL FOOD WAS VERY BLAND AND GENERIC. THE BUFFET WAS COLD NOT WARM. WHEN WE VENTURED INTO NASSAU THE FOOD WAS EXCELLANT, BUT THAT DEFEATS THE ALL INCLUSIVE ATTRACTION DOES IT NOT? A DAY TRIP TO ATLANTIS ON PARADISE ISLAND WAS AWESOME.AN AQUARIUM ADVENTURE WORTH GOING BACK FOR.PLENTY TO DO FOR THE KIDS AND ADULTS . ENJOY

What's to Love

Lounging on one of the prettiest, white sandy beaches will make more than your vacay.

Sipping a cool adult beverage at the lobby bar is exactly what you pictured. Classy. Modern. Relaxed.

Three sweet pools with waterfalls, ocean views, and drink service. You've earned this sunny spot.

A friendly staff that will take care of all the details while you chillax in paradise.

Snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding - take your adventure out to the blue seas.

You can still get daily workouts in. The fitness center is stocked and open 24-hours a day.

What We'd Change

The high-end steakhouse isn't included in the all-inclusive plan, but all the other restaurants are. Also, it offers healthy dining options.

Why You Should Go

You'll be sippin' your Bahama Mama in a flash. The resort is a short 10-min drive from the airport.

Bus into Nassau is approximately $1.50 - sight seeing is the best.

Book early for reservations at the restaurants - you don't want to miss out.

When you check-in, ask for a cocktail or head to the bar so you can start living on island time.

On Friday night, mix and mingle with other beach lovers at the resort's Caribbean Night.

Start your morning with a hot, steamy cup of joe at Starbucks. (Or an iced latte always works.)
