Perfect destination getaway

The associate we worked with to book our honeymoon trip to Zoetry was amazing. He was very clear, concise and courteous. Pickup form Cancun airport was on time, and they offered us cold towels and sparkling wine, making the 25 minute drive very pleasant. A quick highway run away from Cancun and through a path cut through mangrove swamp and you're there. Upon arriving you are met with more refreshments and some customized Mayan greetings to use with the staff, making you feel very much at home in this secluded paradise. The decor feels ultra modern yet ancient at the same time. Reproductions of Mayan art and statues adorn the palace, which is the only word I can use to describe the main area of the resort. The concierge was very good at explaining what was included in our stay and which free activities we could sign up for. These activities included day trips to Isla Mujeres, a romantic boat ride, wine and tequila tasting, etc. She showed us our room and we were blown away. She let us be and we just soaked up the room and the views. All we can say is that you don't want to leave. Sure, the day trip sounds like fun, but then you're away from your all inclusive paradise, which has one of the most beautiful pools and one of the best dinner spots we've ever been to. The all inclusive package is really just unbeatable. At any point you can order whatever you want. Tipping can be handled as you go or at the end of your stay. We tried to stay within the 10%-15% range for tipping. The employees definitely deserve that. Sometimes service can be a little slow or lackluster, but that is just resort style service. These people work all day for multiple days straight and you can tell when they are getting to the end of their week. Still, most everything was handled with a smile and graciousness. The beach isn't very built up, and the sea here is not very pleasant to swim in, but that is because this is an eco-resort. The beach is as it would be without anything there. Still, is provided a beautiful vista that didn't grow tiresome the entirety of our stay. Most people opt to hang by the pool, which as I said, is amazing. The biggest let down was the wine tasting. It was more of a class on how to taste wine, not an actual tasting. Additionally, the wine you are tasting is the wine they already offer for free at the resort. So basically, you're just tasting cheaper wine in a room filled with really nice wine. Also, we were late to the tasting, along with two other couples who were also given poor instructions on where to meet for the tasting, and the sommelier was pretty rude about us showing up late. She didn't really do much to catch us up or seem to care that we were given poor instructions as to the meeting place. Overall, it was the most beautiful and comfortable resort we've ever visited. The food was amazing, as was the atmosphere and 95% of the service. Booking through Cheap Caribbean is the way to go to visit this resort, as it is a five diamond hotel.

Highly Reccomend

We chose the travel here for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. As an American traveler the standards for service can be different from home. I own a small business that focuses on service, so it is very important to me. I loved every moment and the device was truly exceptional. Everyone one is polite and accommodating. We did bring only AMERICAN dollars which was not a problem, but we did wish we would have brought more ones and fives for tipping. We tipped the wait staff that we saw most regularly and we loved that it was almost always the same people working the same shifts. We still got excellent service when we did tip, but they were so great we wanted to! We loved the no kids small boutique atmosphere. Very romantic and clean!! The grounds are emaculate and we always had somethings new to do with there being excursions offered for extra cost. We only did the snorkeling, which was great, and a massage. We could have not done any extras and still loved it. But the coupon they provided helped to cover the cost. We are big foodies and loved the menus. Enough choices you can always get something new and everything is prepared by a chef who obviously knew what they were doing. You don't want to dine out? Just cuddle up with room service-- excellent! I can't say enough good things. We stayed only 5 days and some older couples we met said that we were so content due to being newlyweds --- which is probably true. I image we might want more night life if we had wanted to do more than just sunbathe and cuddle in the beach or by the pool. It was perfect for our honeymoon given the number of days we spent there! Thank you! We will visit again when we need a break from our fast paced life up here! Only negative would be the beach. A bit weedly at our end of the bay this time of year-- but we didn't care because the pool it on the beach.

Can't Wait To Return

I cried in the van when it was time to leave and they were taking me back to the airport! I was there for 3 nights, 4 days, and it was more than what I expected. This is my first trip to Mexico and my first trip using Cheap Caribbean, and I can't wait to return. All of the staff at the resort were so friendly, and made me feel extra special on my birthday. I traveled there alone and felt very safe. One night, I stayed at the bar after dark and was a little nervous to walk back to my room by myself (iguanas), but there were staff outside with flashlights to guide us back to our rooms. The poolside service was great; drinks were strong and the food was decent. If there were any negatives, the room service food wasn't the greatest and the beds weren't super comfortable. I read about these two things in previous reviews (thank you), but the overall value and service were amazing. I didn't have to worry about anything but getting on the plane. I was picked up from the airport, check-in was awesome, I could do as much as I wanted or as little. I went on this trip to 1) celebrate my birthday, 2) relax, and 3) shoot tequila until I passed out. I was able to do all 3, and I'm definitely returning next April!

almost paradise!

My vacation started badly. My plane was late arriving from Hartford and there was nobody at the airport waiting for me to take me to the resort! I spend 2 hours trying to find transportation and had to pay out of pocket for it, though the resort site lists transportation to and from airport as included!!! The resort is beautiful and well maintained. It is a boutique resort, small and cozy with beautiful, spacious rooms. The bed however is concrete and the mattress pretty hard but the worst point is the bed being so high that if you're shorter person you'll definitely need a step stool to get into bed! There are only 3 restaurants and the menu is pretty much the same every day but the food is fresh and delicious. Breakfast is not a buffet where you can select what you want. It is served and it takes a little bit too long to get it which when you're trying to catch the morning sun is not good. Same thing at the restaurants. It takes a long time to get your order and it is not always what you ordered. Dinner starts at 6:30 which for me is late, because by the time you get your food it can be 8-8:30 meaning that you're eating very late! The fancy La Canoa restaurant manager will try to make you buy a $50 bottle of wine is you want to dine outside on the terrace! While the resort site lists endless privileges and top self liquor if you ask for top self they tell you that you have to pay extra! In order to get what you paid for and what is listed on the site you have to waste time trying to find a manager and talk to them. I found one and I asked him why can't I have my margarita with Patron tequila which is a premium beverage (premium beverages are listed as included) and mr.Jose Viterri manager told me that Patron tequila is not premium but Ultra premium! So if Patron is Ultra premium what is 1800 Anejo considered? All I know is that a shot of it costs $36! Thank goodness I'm not that fancy. I don't understand the discrepancy between what the resort site lists as included and the reality at the resort. I can think only that some managers make their own rules trying to get more money from the tourists which is not really conducive of a good business! The beach is small and the sand is full of dry twigs and rocks and broken shells. There is a tractor who patrols the shoreline up and down all day trying to clean the algae and if you're trying to enjoy the beach and the sound of the waves and the clean air, you're out of luck. You hear the noise, inhale the fumes and get your view of the ocean blocked by an inefficient piece of polluting equipment. The floor of the ocean is rocky and you have to be very careful if you want to go swimming. The resort site also lists basket of fresh fruit every day. All I got throughout my stay were 3 apples which where there the whole time, nothing else. There is a lot of wildlife at the resort. There are peacocks and iguanas roaming free and an aviary and some free parrots that screech very loudly. The peacocks will come at breakfast and still food of your plate, they are very bold and if you have your door to the terrace open they will come inside looking for food! and in the wee hours of the morning they are very loud almost like roosters and wake you up at the crack of dawn. The good part in my vacation at the resort were some of the employees who will bend backwards and forward to make your experience enjoyable especially if you tip them small amounts of dollars. I am grateful to Lucia, the concierge who booked all my spa appointments and activities. She is a very kind, professional and accommodating person. I also want to mention Mauricio, another concierge who greeted me on my arrival and was there for me every time I needed him, always with a smile and a solution. I also have to mention two of the good and caring managers: Cesar, the morning manager at Kaax restaurant . He remembered not only my name, my room but also my dietary restrictions. He is very professional and educated and speaks several languages. The other manager is Ulysses, the evening manager at Kaax who would do anything for you to make you feel special. Both these managers are not ashamed to come and serve you and make sure you are happy. Paola, the manager at El Chiringuito grill falls into the same category. She is very modest and hardworking and ready to do anything to make you feel good. Then there is Jorje, the bartender and tequila tasting person who is very kind and helpful and would make for you anything you want and listen to you and make you feel really good. Miguel from the beach will run circles around you to get you anything you need. Please kind to these people and tip them as they are doing an awesome job to make your stay pleasant. I cannot say the same thing however about the manager at la Caona, Arturo Escalante who is the one telling me on Valentine day that I have to buy a $50 bottle of wine if I want to dine on the terrace. Mind you, I was there alone and I cannot drink a whole bottle of wine by myself! I guess this was his way of making a woman alone feel good on Valentine's day! He however redeemed himself by apologizing to me and making it up so I suspect maybe he was just following orders. I'd like to finish my review complimenting the spa at the resort and Jesus, my masseur who made me feel young again. He has magic hands. Overall, it was a good enough experience considering that I celebrate my 60Th birthday there. On my special day upon returning to my room, my bed had Happy Birthday written on it in palm leaves and balloons made of flowers and a little gift from the spa! Now that made me feel really really special! My thanks to all the personnel at the resort for their hard work and willingness to make my stay enjoyable.

The resort is decorated with unique and eclectic decor, including original art and antiques - very fancy.

Oceanfront rooms with private terraces - ideal for morning coffee or a nightcap.

What We'd Change

We've thought long and hard about it and the answer is nothing! You can't improve on five-star perfection. Even the seaweed on the beach adds the perfect imperfection.
