We would do it again..and will!
I really don't know where to start. We knew we wanted to go somewhere in the Caribbean but didn't know exactly where. We had been to Jamaica, Mexico, and the Caymans before. I found the Cheap Caribbean website and that made things MUCH easier. (Seriously, it was so easy booking through Cheap Caribbean I thought it must be a scam website at first.) I quickly narrowed it down to the Caymans since we had been there before and I knew it was safe and beautiful. I selected the Westin resort based upon the positive reviews it had received and chose the "all inclusive" option. I had no clue that it would be so nice. (The exact location of our trip was kept a secret from my wife and son until we got ready to board the plane in Charlotte for the Caymans. As a result I was a little worried about everything).
We arrived on Thursday and immediately hit the pool/beach. The pool area is perfect. It's big enough to hold a crowd and has a swim up bar. (Give our best to Gabor!) The best thing about the pool is the palm trees around the pool provide relief from the sun when needed. You really felt like you were in a lagoon. We spent an entire day at the pool simply lounging around.
Other than Friday, when we did an excursion around the island, we did not leave the resort area. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner on site. The staff could not have been more friendly. Practically everyone knew us from the 2nd day on. The food was excellent. Choosing the all inclusive took a lot of "guess work" over what to eat and given the pricey nature of the Caymans we definitely came out ahead. We simply got up each morning and went and had fresh omelettes made for us. Lunch was usually taken poolside (fish tacos, burgers, jerk wraps, etc.). Dinner was always a highlight. Our all inclusive package gave us a 3 course meal each night. We tried nearly every dinner option (pasta, fish, pork chop, steak) and we were never disappointed. (The all inclusive included all of our drinks and all meals, snacks, etc at all the resort diners except Casa Havana. I highly recommend the all inclusive option to all travelers.)
The beach was simply picturesque. This is the first time we stayed on 7 Mile Beach (we previously stayed on the North Side or Rum Point). I guess I expected it to be touristy and crowded. Boy was I surprised. The beaches were clean and the condos are not "skyscrapers" like the ones in Florida. The Cayman folks were smart enough to leave the beach in its natural form so the huge trees (Cypress or some type of pine) stretched the length of the beach providing a rustic feel.
We rented snorkel gear and quickly found a reef teeming with tropical fish of all varieties. The visibility was great and even our 9 year old was entertained enough to put down his iPhone for a while.
We've been fortunate enough to have been to several nice resorts over the years. Our family would not hesitate to book again using Cheap Caribbean and go back to the Westin on 7 Mile Beach.
Definitely a relaxing destination!! We were like the only ones who had all inclusive which was well worth it on this very expensive island, we spent about $120 a day for all inclusive, and it was worth every penny because the meals alone w/ out drinks would have been $50 per meal easily( for 2 people) and drinks on he resort were $9 a pop. We ran into many other vacationers that were skipping a meal a day to save money, they had no idea about the all inclusive, so thanks cheap carribean.com, my only complaint was the first room we were assigned had a wet mildew smell but they moved us immediately, and it was fine! The king size bed was ver comfortable! one of the restaurants was closed at the resort , but the beach restaurant and ferdinands restaurant food was delicious. we stayed six days and we ate entirely to much!!! It's a English ran island and the U.S. dollar is only worth .80 cents. If u love the beach this is the place to go as there isn't really any historical sites to visit, there biggest attractions is a Turtle farm which is pretty weak, swimming w/ sting rays and dolphins, which we didn't do and/or going to rum point to spend more money eating and drinking! The resort was absolutely gorgeous, u won't be disappointed and the staff very friendly! We went during the off peak the 3rd weak in August and he resort was not packed , which was great, we never needed to rush out to secure an umbrella at the crack of dawn , like I've had to do on other island. The entire island shuts down at 12am on Saturdays and Sundays( the entire island is pretty much closed on Sundays) the clubs during the week were cool but I wouldn't call this a party destination but a relaxing beach filled, beautiful calm waters destination. You won't be disappointed if your pockets can afford it!

No kitchenettes and really not many kid friendly options, burgers are about $12 and a hot dog $10, food and drinks are very expensive, all inclusive is the way to go at this resort
