Not everyone has the good fortune of living right on the beach, so instead of making the trek with the kids every weekend, just head for your home away from home at Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort & Spa in Mexico. Villa Del Palmar quiet place
If I hadn't specifically asked for a beach for long walks and nightly entertainment, then this would get 4 palms all around. I also so missed the
beach side buffets.....instead we had to order lunch every day that we were there. And deal with more than one server each time! Some people
would love this but we found it distracting. The menu did not change while we were there.
The room was quite nice. Our bed sooo comfortable. Towels were great.
Pools were great too.
Not many 30 to 40 year old fun people there so I would say to stay away if you like lots of fun & nightlife. Many more women than men also.
I think next visit we will go to hotel zone or back to the riviera maya.

Took a girls only trip for 4 nights at the Villa Del Palmar Cancun. The resort will be beautiful and already is quite impressive with the huge pool with fountains, multiple hot tubs and expansive pool side area. Since only first phase was completed (opened Dec 2010), there were only 2 restaurants open not incuding the beach grill; but that seemed to suit us fine. The beach area was beautiful, but water cloudy and filled with seaweed at the shoreline. I think since the hotel is newly opened and word isn't out yet, we were able to get lounge chairs on the beach without difficulty, though there seemed to be plenty. The staff were all very friendly and quick with service throughout our 4 night stay. There was only one occassion when pool side service was pretty slow. Not sure what that was about. There were plenty of adult activities available daily but we spent most of our time on the beach or lounging by the pool. There were very few activities for children which would make it difficult for families with young ones. Even my 16yo son would have been bored. When the resort is complete, they may offer more children's/teen activities. The room was gorgeous! The main downside was the continuous construction at the resort. We were hoping to awake in the mornings with our sliding doors open to hear the sounds of the ocean; instead we heard multiple loud construction noises beginning in the a.m. on through to at least 5pm. Saturday they only worked a half day and Sunday, luckily, they were off. That one quiet morning on our balcony was perfect. Wish we could have had more of that. This is why my overall rating was 4 palms instead of 5 since the construction will cease one day. I would recommend this resort to friends. Don't know that I'll return as I prefer smaller more intimate resorts. Once this second phase is complete, this resort is going to be huge and could be fun if you like the larger resort. All in all it made for a great winter time blues getaway.
Finding a taxi to the resort was a little difficult. No one knew what resort we were talking about. I think it's because it is so new. Construction was noisy but we didn't mind. We were part of the all inclusive. It was great. Both restaurants were great. Don't be in a hurry. It took forever to get our check to sign for our room. Everyone was very helpful and aware of our needs.

You can negotiate - we did not have time to do ourselves but did research and out of the guests we spoke with the lowest we heard was $45 for about 30 mins.

There are not jet skies at the resort to rent. Due to the rocks they can't get there.

They told us when we booked that Jet Skis were available, but when we got there they did not have them. They do have Kayaks but they were not allowing those to go out because the water was to ruff. They really do not offer many beach activities.

CheapCaribbean.com does offer round-trip airport transfers as an option to add to your vacation package. You may do so when initially booking your trip, or you may add them on up until 72 hours prior to your departure date. As of right now, the transfers are pricing at around $40.00 per person round-trip, however that pricing is subject to change until the transfers are booked.

All taxes and gratuities are included in the All inclusive package at the Villa Del Palmar Cancun. Should you purchase the hotel without the all inclusive package Cheap Caribbean's prices included all taxes, however the grauities for the restaurants are not included.

Villa del Palmar Cancun offers guestrooms and suites. Rooms feature balconies. Kitchenette with mini bar, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, full bathroom with tub, closet and safe.Flat-panel televisions come with premium cable channels and pay per view movies. Wired high-speed internet access is available (with a surcharge); phones and in-room safes are also provided.

Villa del Palmar Cancun Beach Resort & Spa began the second phase of its renovation project on Aug 15, 2011. The resort will be adding a spectacular lobby and motor lobby, Asian sushi restaurant, lobby bar and 130 more rooms. Please be advised that there may be some work on the property as well as on the grounds during your stay. All rooms and the majority of the public areas will be fully operational, and any necessary work will take place Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat 8am-1pm. All precautions will be taken to keep noise levels and distractions to a minimum.
