Great Family Vacation
My husband and I flew from LAX to Cabo with our 16-year-old son. My husband and I like to stay at adults only hotels, but since our 16-year-old came with us, we were looking for a family-friendly resort. Our one-bedroom suite provided comfort and some privacy for my husband and me, with our own bathroom and whirlpool. Our son had the living room with a Murphy bed, along with his own bathroom and the full kitchen and laundry.
There were no loud parties (that we heard). It was very quiet at night at Villa Del Arco. During the day, there were plenty of kids in the pool, so we stayed down at the beach and watched the manta rays jumping out of the water and slapping themselves back down onto the top of the water. The wait staff on the beach were excellent. We could have fresh, cold fruit brought to us, drinks, quesadillas, or whatever. I WOULD NOT GO WITHOUT THE ALL-INCLUSIVE!! And I am grateful that I had purchased it when I bought the trip package through cheapcaribbean.com.
It was about $4/person for a taxi into town, where we swam with the dolphins, enjoyed a really good singer/guitar player at the Baja Cantina, and shopped a bit. If you don’t want to go to town, there is a free shuttle that takes you a minute away to Villa Del Palmar (the sister resort) which accepts the all-inclusive wristbands. Villa Del Palmar has theme nights, but we didn’t care for the food at the theme night. However, the food at Villa Del Arco was excellent. Our son ate sushi every night while we ate at different places for variety. There are 3 restaurants, and during the day there is a taco bar.
I had read several negative reviews about the front desk staff, however, we didn’t need to worry. The front desk staff was always pleasant, helpful and gave us whatever we needed. When I found out that our room was 4 floors directly above the lobby, I told the check-in clerk that I may want to change rooms after we saw it. He said no problem. But when we saw our room, we sere so happy with its location that I went down and let the guy know we were very satisfied.
Make sure when you arrive at the airport that you stay away from the indoor salespeople. They tell you that you have no choice but to give them your ground transportation voucher and then hold you hostage for their sales pitch. Just exit to the left as fast as you can and find your company. Otherwise, your vacation will be delayed for an hour. Villa Del Arco will try to get you to participate in a timeshare, but we told them we weren’t interested upon arrival and they didn’t bother us again. Until . . . we were lying on the beach 2 days before departure, and a young man who spoke very good English convinced my husband to sit through it for free jet skis. That morning, we told the sales lady we were poor, spent an hour with her, and had a blast jet-skiing later that afternoon.

Excellent resort
We went here for our 10th wedding anniversary and couldn't have been more pleased with the resort. The rooms were AWESOME! We got a 1 bedroom villa which had a seperate living and dinning area along with a full kitchen. The living room had a pull down wall bed as well. We also had 2 full bathrooms and the bathroom connected to the bedroom had a full walk in shower AND a jacuzzi tub. The balcony was HUGE and overlooked the ocean AND the pool! And you could also see Lands End from our balcony!
The service was great and the food was good. We were within walking distance to the Marina and to downtown. Plus you are right on Medano beach which is one of the only swimmable beaches there. The location was PERFECT!
I would highly recommend this resort and we plan to go back again!
We stayed at Villa del Arco Resort and Spa in Cabo San Lucas from July 18th - 22nd. This was an incredible vacation (and was just as described on your site) We enjoyed a beautiful one bedroom villa at this immaculate 5* resort for an UNBEATABLE price! The Villa exceeded our expectations; having two bathrooms,a full kitchen with a dishwasher, in-suite laundry room, a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom, vanity/dressing area, in-room safe, a huge patio with table/chairs and two chaise loungers with a fantastic view of the bay.
The pool area is exceptional; with varying depths of water in different sections, hot tubs, sprinklers and waterfalls. The sun loungers were very comfortable. I do, however, think that the resort should enforce the "leave your towel on the chair to save it/you will lose it" rule that they have posted, because unfortunately, there were too many guests that "saved" their chairs with towels predawn - which is not uncommon practice at resorts - but they didn't come back to the pool until mid afternoon - so the "best chairs"(and most of those with any shade) sat emptly all morning! One family was even inconsiderate enough to save an entire section of the very most sought after seating for 4 hours while they left the hotel for an excursion during prime pool time between 11am and 3pm. They even asked the stranger next to them to watch their belongings while they were gone!!!
The beach is the best part! You can walk for what seems like miles in either direction. There is no seeweed or rocks to deal with no little fishies nibbling at you when you are in the sea. You do need to exercise reasonable caution as the surf can get pretty rough at times.
The market/coffee shoppe/internet cafe over at Villa del Palmer was a nice convenience - you can even ride the trolley over if you don't feel like walking the short distace to the sister resort.
We both enjoyed 50 minute aromatherapy massages at the Spa and agreed that they were by far the best massage either of us have ever had! Side note: we've both experienced many spa treatments in many different places that we have traveled - so I think we are qualified judges ;)
The resort is close to the downtown area and to Walmart - Both are easy to get to by bus (for like 50 cents). Walking downtown is also an option - it is a short, safe walk from the resort.
I couldn't have even imagined a better vacation! We will definitely be back!

Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Grand Spa in Mexico: Los Cabos Views and a Replica Spanish Galleon
Strap on your eye patches, dust off your pirate hats and head for Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Grand Spa in Mexico, where the Los Cabos fun awaits at a pool featuring a replica of a Spanish galleon! Stride inside the pirate-themed Buccaneer for a round of tequila while the kids pretend their fries are cannons. Cast away your cares at the largest spa in all of Cabo, Desert Spa at Villa del Arco, a European-style spa that draws from local treatments and remedies to pamper mind and body.
Take a walk over to Medano Beach, one of the only swimmable beaches in Cabo, and play in the surf or lay out by the two, beautifully designed pools. The rock formations and pirate ship make guests feel like they're in another time, while kids can hunt for treasure and pretend they're mermaids. When your stomach starts rumbling, look no farther than the two delicious dining options; try shrimp quesadillas at La Perla or fresh oysters at El Faro. When the sun sets, catch a nightly theme show or head over to the rowdy downtown Cabo San Lucas.
When your little sea voyagers want more fun instead of relaxation, round up the family for a game of beach volleyball or admire the sea from above while parasailing. Drop the kids off at the supervised kids' club at sister resort Villa del Palma or take them along on an exhilarating ATV tour.
Filled to the brim with adventure, guests love sitting in the ocean air on the furnished balconies that come with every suite. Families feel right at home in the tastefully decorated One Bedroom Ocean View Villa with a king bed in the master bedroom and a Murphy Bed(TM) for the kids in the living room.
