Caribbean Jim's Comments:

What I love about this resort:
The Verandah sits on 30 acres on Antigua's northeast coast and is brand new. A white sand beach meets the bay, which is protected by a coral reef. The waters shelter indigenous marine life. Devil's Bridge National Park is a half-mile away and worth the walk. The hotel itself was built with the environment in mind, incorporating natural materials whenever possible; the property is populated by low-rise structures, meant to blend in with the surroundings and is the newest property on island.
What I wish I could change:
Restaurants require proper attire in the evenings, which means long pants, collared shirts and shoes for men and skirs, dresses, capri's and pants for women.
Why YOU should go:
Three wonderful restaurants are on site; room service is also available. The property offers golf cart shuttle service. Two freeform pools, a beautiful secluded beach, complimentary wireless Internet access, and wedding services. For true comfort and relaxation this is it!

The Verandah's pristine setting incorporates a wild and exotic place where private white sandy beaches lead to crystal clear turquoise waters. Enjoy the dramatic sunrises that serve as an early morning wake up call and relax in a place that hasn't quite caught up with the 21st century. You can be barefoot from the moment you wake till the moment you go to bed. You can pass the day lazing in a hammock, trying your hand at windsurfing in the bay or sailing off to a nearby uninhabited island. You can enjoy your evenings by the pool dancing to calypso rhythms or on your own Veranda discussing the meaning of life.

Situated within a beautiful natural cove. The Verandah is part of a luxurious new family-oriented resort complex offering a fully managed, all-inclusive environment. The resort features 3 freshwater swimming pools, 2 restaurants and a children's restaurant, Tranquility Spa & Salon, fitness center, and gift shop. There are also 2 tennis courts (lit for night play), volleyball, a supervised Kids club for ages 4 to 12 years old, "Pirates' Den" with casino slots, pool table and bar (Adults 18 years and older, open 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM), and a tour desk to help you with tours and activities, such as sport fishing and scuba diving.

This 200 room luxury family style resort is situated on 30 spectacular waterfront acres, hidden away on the untouched north-east coast of Antigua. It lies adjacent to a designated National Park and incorporates marked nature trails, a powder soft white sand beach and crystal clear bay perfect for swimming. The historical Devils Bridge is only a brief walk away, while uninhabited nature sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island are only a boat ride away.

The Verandah itself has been designed with this breathtaking setting in mind, its lush landscaping incorporating indigenous palms, plants and stone. Natural materials are used wherever possible throughout its sprawling, low rise construction, that overlooks the protected waters of the turquoise bay. All the spacious villas blend classic Caribbean style with modern comforts, while the recreational opportunities make the most of the rejuvenating qualities of the tropics.

Guests traveling with their personal laptops will have complimentary wireless access at the guest services area, around the pool and the main bar.
