Zika Virus

The Zika virus, spread to people through mosquito bites has been recently reported in 25 countries, including Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, Martinique, Haiti and Puerto Rico. The CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) is warning pregnant women against travel to those areas. According to the CDC, the illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting from several days to a week. The most common symptoms of the Zika virus are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes). There is no vaccine to prevent or medicine to treat Zika. The CDC advises travelers to take steps to prevent mosquito bites. Please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to learn more.

CheapCaribbean's Zika virus change and cancellation policy

For pregnant women and their traveling companions:
Some airlines and hotels have implemented relaxed cancellation/change policies for passengers traveling to affected destinations. CheapCaribbean will honor airline and hotel policies. CheapCaribbean will waive the CheapCaribbean per person cancel/change fee, but will enforce any airline or hotel penalties in place at the time of cancellation. Documentation may be required. Booking date must be on or before January 29th to be applicable for modified cancellation policies.
