Great 1st experience in Jamaica

Overall, this was a great place especially if you have children. The views, beach, entertainment, and customer service was phenomenal but it is very outdated primarily the pool and bathrooms. The food was pretty good but they should definitely add one more smaller restaurant somewhere on the resort to give customers more options. Demitri was by far our favorite entertainment staff and we looked forward to his acts every evening.

You get what you pay for

Overall my experience was good, not great but good. My biggest complaints were that the resort was not kept super clean. The front lobby area was kept superb but the rest of the resort's cleanliness was sub-par. For examples, when I went out early in the morning to walk on the beach there was all sorts of trash left on the beach from the night before. There were cups left all over the resort that would stay there all day. No one would pick them up. If the entire resort was as clean as the front area, they would get another star. Most of the staff was nice and friendly, although, I did come across a few very unhappy staff who were rude and unpleasant. Overall it was OK, but the resort needs work.

These #truebeachlovers enjoyed every minute of it!

My husband and I chose the "Deal of Fortune" for Montego Bay, Jamaica for May 17, 2017. I mean the pp price was unbelievable and it included airfare and 5 days 4 nights at an all inclusive, how could you go wrong?!! We found out the week before which hotel we were assigned to and were pleasantly surprised that they had chosen the Sunscape Splash for us. We flew in from Ft. Lauderdale on Jet Blue, the flight was comfortable and when we arrived in Jamaica it was quick going through customs. The Shuttle driver was waiting for us right where they said he would be and he was very friendly and helpful. We arrived at Sunscape Splash and it was quick and easy checking in. The staff greeted us with a refreshing alcoholic beverage in the main lobby. We were assigned a really pretty upper floor, ocean view king room. It was clean and nicely furnished. It had a balcony which I loved as my husband and I are early risers and we enjoyed having our coffee on the balcony watching the sunrise. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help you if you needed something. We had a mini bar with soda, beer and water in our room which was refilled daily. The private beach was wonderful and we enjoyed getting up early and going for walks on it!! I had a lot of fun at the pool as the bartenders and staff were fun and had drinking games for the adults!! I think I had more fun relaxing on the lazy river than the kids at the resort!!! They have many activities and offsite group tours which you can book through the representatives in the main lobby. Although we chose to hire a private taxi driver (Mr. Wise) who we found through the taxi desk in the Main Lobby. We went to Dunn River Falls in Ocho Rios which was fun, wear water shoes lol, and shopping on the Hip Strip...a lot of fun and great souvenir stores (Mr.Wise knew everyone in every town we went to and is influential and an honest taxi driver - I highly recommend hiring him).' Although the food was really good at the buffet and the restaurants, I only wished they had more restaurant choices...I do recommend that you walk to the edge of the property down on the beach (just past the lazy river pool) there is a great Jerk Chicken stand that my husband and I went to every day for lunch...OMG so good. The casino is small but we went nightly for a few and actually won some money...YAY!!! My husband and I are planning to go back to Montego Bay again next May I will chose the "Deal of Fortune" once again as Cheap Caribbean did us right the first time and the value for the price is beyond amazing!! I only hope you enjoy your vacation with Cheap Caribbean as much as my husband and i did!!! Thank you Cheap Caribbean - we are and and always will be #truebeachlovers.

Would not recommend

I love Jamaica and I would recommend making a trip there anytime, but I would not recommend this resort to anyone especially if they did not have kids. This is my 3rd time to Jamaica and my 2nd time staying at an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica. The 1st time was 7 years ago at the Grand Palladium. I loved Grand Palladium. The hosts and bartenders were all very friendly and accommodating. The entertainment was great. The restaurants were great. Sunscape did not have any of these qualities. The quality service is what I was least impressed by. All the hotel employees seemed incredibly put out whenever you asked for anything. That includes simply getting a drink at the bar. We attempted tipping to see if we would get better service, but it didnt help. The drinks were not very good. They were constantly running out of ingredients. The food was not very good. The quality was poor. They were constantly out of Ice in the ice machine, so be prepared for warm water or soda. They will not refill it for you. They didnt have any good fresh fruit, the only fruit they had was not very good at all. We had a couple decent dinners there, but overall It was all not very good. The grill is TERRIBLE do not eat there. The entertainment there was not very good. Guests doing karaoke, doesnt do it for me. Their hot tub was only hot 3 out of the 7 days we were there. We asked them to heat it. They said okay, but never did it. On a positive note. They do have a great beach with a lot of room. It is pretty private and away from other hotels. We paid to upgrade to the 'better' side of the hotel. I would say that was worth it. Our room was great and had a beautiful view. The housekeeping service and room service was great. It took us 3 days to get a robe in our room, but at least they delivered on it. We did not have any kids with us, but they had some good attractions for kids. They had 2 waterslides and a lazy river which were fun, once you got on it. The stairs leading up to the waterslides were not very sanitary, there was garbage everywhere. The lazy river was great, but they had only about 8 inner tubes for people to float in. It was very hard to get one. We asked for more, they said tough luck. I will always go back to Jamaica, I love it. I would not stay here again.
