Sunscape Sabor

The resort overall was clean, our room initially was a garden view right by the bar. They let us relocate to a 3rd story room with a better view. Bottle water was always in abundance in the room. Market Cafe buffet food was horrible same with the Seaside cafe for lunch. You could not decipher what things were especially when it came to meat. I don't understand why they just don't keep it basic. Meat, vegetables, fruit. Yogurt was always runny. Salad bar always had very strange items on it. Fruit selection was not very plentiful. Service was not very good at any of the restaurants. Breakfast is pretty easy, eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt. But the bacon was just a pile of fat, eggs were scrambled with a ton of grease (no hard boiled eggs). The Bars - alcohol at the bar was low low grade. Blat vodka - who has ever heard of this this is worse that Karkov. I am convinced they water the alcohol down due to the fact that people consumed copious amounts of drinks and never got a buzz or drunk. There was Smirnoff available in limited amounts which is low end in the USA. There was never more than 2 bartenders on at a time and those bartenders had to also make the drinks for the restaurants.

Overall the resort was alright. The food was good but limited and the service ranged based on the day. We did run out of water on the first day we were there, but besides that the rooms were nice. I enjoyed my stay but would probably try a different resort next time.

Great Vacation Resort

The resort is small enough that you don't have the big crowds or large hotel style rooms. But it still offers several dining choices, bars, entertainment and a couple of pools. The staff is wonderful and very attentive and friendly. They go out of their way to help you with a special request. It was our birthdays, so when we got to our room they had a cake and a bottle of wine for us. A nice special touch! The restaurants had a variety of choices and El Patio has excellent Mexican dining while Portofino was our favorite for breakfast and lunch. We heard nothing but positive comments about all of the restaurants. The bars are always available and will get you whatever you want. It's a fun, friendly atmosphere. The beach is not large, but there were plenty of chairs available. Though there is snorkeling off the beach, the visibility wasn't great while we were there, but the weather was! Our check in took a little while and then we had to sit and hear about the presentation in order to get our coupons. The coupons are not a great deal. They add up to a lot of money, but since you can't combine them, they're not worth much. If you truly want a massage, you may be better off getting the discounts from the spa itself. We did not do the presentation, nor had any desire to. If you're not interested in that, just tell them. You may have to more than once, but eventually they leave you alone. Big tip - don't pay for the hotel transfer. You can get a shuttle at the airport. We learned that after the fact. It's a great resort with much to offer. We can't wait to go back!

Average place

The best part of this vacation was the sun and warm weather! The next best thing were the locals we met while out and about. I can't even say this is a good place to rest your head as the bed was rock hard and hurt my hips so that I couldn't sleep. I did get a couple of nice naps on the beach lounge chairs. Not that they were comfy but I was that sleep deprived. Some activities staff were super fun and nice, like Brandon and Oscar. You can tell they enjoy their job and love to make your stay fun. Unfortunately many of the items were very well worn, such as the bicycles, paddle boards, and snorkel gear. It's great that it's all free but the condition of said items needs some major improvement. While the food was average I do have to say that they did a wonderful job plating the food. They took pride in the food presentation. The wait staff could have been more personable. I can definitely say that the royal treatment they advertise so much must have a different meaning than what I was thinking. I would not say that we ever received royal treatment at any time. It sounds good but it just doesn't happen. It's your average run of the mill place.
