When Sugar Bay was a Dreams resort they had it all. Now there is nothing. No activities other then the activities you would create on your own. They made a daily activity sheet but nothing ever happened. Roaches were in the main building and the restaurant by the pool. There was no room service, no mini bar, no one coming around offering drinks or anything. The blender broke at the pool bar after the second day there and for 4 days left to our vacation there was no blender for mixed drinks. My guess is that this is another ammenity that is now gone. The elevator was out of service two days during our stay. They are still using Dreams soaps and shampoos in the rooms. This place is being run down to the ground. Find another resort would be my suggestion.

Loved it!! Will go back!

First off I would like to say do not listen to the negative reviews!! I was quiet hesitant to book this trip but my boyfriend told me to be opened minded and don't go by the reviews, our experience could be totally different which in fact was!!! I loved my trip and would definitely go back. The people at sugar bay are incredibly nice, they're so attentive to you and so friendly. The resort is pretty big, the view is amazing. There's a shuttle that passes every 5 mins to take you from the lobby to the pool/beach area or you can take the stairs which isn't too bad, it's a nice view :) The food is great also, I recommend the hibachi and the Italian restaurant it was delightful. The only sucky part is there's no food past 10pm because the restaurants are closed but you're allowed to take food from the restaurants up to your room. The bar by the lobby closes at 12pm, they have a DJ some nights, or a pianist. The bar by the pool area closes at 9pm. So that's pretty much the only downside to it but we didn't mind. Also there were only 2 small spiders in our room when we first got there and saw NONE after that. The beach has sand fleas but those didn't really bother us, we weren't by the beach for too long anyways. We did kayaking which is free! I honestly enjoyed my stay here, no complaints and I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews!!! Go for it!!

Great!

Seriously, this was an amazing resort. Service was impeccable, gorgeous beach and pool area. Room was clean and updated. Food was ok, but was an all inclusive so I expected it. Cheap Caribbean was super easy and wonderful.

Great resort, food was excellent, grounds well kept and beautiful. Only disappointment beach was small and hard to get in water because of rocks and coral.Still very enjoyable and would recommend.

What's to Love

St. Thomas is a dreamy destination - white sandy beaches, gorgeous ocean waters, sun days.

Begin your day in Zen at one of the yoga classes. Namaste.

Your modern room comes with a view - mountain, tropical or ocean - all swoon-worthy.

Got the kiddos? Great - the Kids Klub will take care of the activities. You can hit the Journey's Spa.

Service is top-notch - don't hesitate to ask for a thing. No, we mean really.

Activities for all - tennis, mini golf, beach and pool volleyball - a little friendly competition is good.

What We'd Change

To get to the beach, it's a bit of a hike, but luckily, the resort's shuttle will take you to and from the beach all day long.

Why You Should Go

When you hit paradise, you've got a zippy 40 minutes to the resort. Bubbly is on deck.

Duty-free shopping dates back to 1724 - lots of galleries, boutiques and unique shops.

Spend a day at Lindquist beach - not overcrowded, crystal clear water, but bring towels & snacks.

Mahogany Run Golf Course is an 18-hole stunner that runs along the sweet Caribbean.

The resort has a shuttle that will take you to and from the beach. Hop on.

Pack some water shoes for the beach - always better to be covered than step on a rock.
