Great Stay

We had a wonderful time at SugarBay. The beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing! The balcony were an extra added benefit. Bathrooms were beautiful!! Breakfast buffet - great! Little restaurant by the pools - everyone loved the chicken wraps and French fries, Have to make reservations at the spot inside where they cook the food in front of you!! We had a group of 15 and didn't have a problem getting in. That was definitely our favorite!! Everyone enjoyed the food and the show!

Sugar Bay Resort

Enjoyed our time at the Sugar Bay Resort. The rooms are spacious and the layout is nice. The views are spectacular. It's a smaller resort than one you would find in Mexico so if you are looking for entertainment, there isn't a whole lot. If you are going to relax, it's perfect! The food was excellent! There are only 3 restaurants so you have to get there early or you are waiting an hour for dinner. The Italian restaurant was our favorite! There isn't much of a beach but the pool is large. Would definitely recommend Sugar Bay to anyone.

Good value, not crowded

One of the best things about sugar bay is that it wasn't crowded. The room was very comfortable. The food was well above average for an all inclusive. The beach and pool are a long walk/Steps from the rooms, and a little bit rocky, but comfortable. Overall , we would recommend this to anyone except elderly or ones with toddlers- just a lot of stairs to the beach and pool. Staff, service, food, room were all very nice!

Over rated

My husband and I have taken many many trips to the Caribbean, this was by far the worst experience. I'll start out by saying our room was nice and the bed was comfortable and the partial ocean view had an exceptional view. That was the best part of the entire hotel. We opted for the all inclusive package which apparently does not include top shelf liquor or one restaurant option, that was okay with us. However, staff was overall rude with the exception of a few. They have specific times to eat and if you're out and about exploring the islands, there is a good chance youll be starving and if its after dinner, dont expect to eat until morning. Wait staff was terrible and there were many times my husband had to get us water and drinks from the bar since our serve would never return or we wpuld never get drinks initially. The resort lost power for about 6 hours. Which was terrible because we were supposed to go on a night time kayaking trip and didnt get to eat dinner before going due to the power.. we were assured that it wpuld be on upon our return. We arrived back about 11pm in which the power was not on. We went back to our room with out cell phone flashlights in hand I hadn't showered all day and needed to get all of the sand ect off so I could sleep. We we went to turn the shower on there was no water.. at this point we were furious. It was hot, no water, no food. We went to the desk and were dismissed.. we decided to get a few bottles of water so that I could rinse off my feet and a few more to last through the night. They informed us that they had ran out.. what hotel runs out of water ?! The beach has a mass amount of sand fleas. Sonic you go bring serious bug repellent because they will eat you alive.

What's to Love

St. Thomas is a dreamy destination - white sandy beaches, gorgeous ocean waters, sun days.

Begin your day in Zen at one of the yoga classes. Namaste.

Your modern room comes with a view - mountain, tropical or ocean - all swoon-worthy.

Got the kiddos? Great - the Kids Klub will take care of the activities. You can hit the Journey's Spa.

Service is top-notch - don't hesitate to ask for a thing. No, we mean really.

Activities for all - tennis, mini golf, beach and pool volleyball - a little friendly competition is good.

What We'd Change

To get to the beach, it's a bit of a hike, but luckily, the resort's shuttle will take you to and from the beach all day long.

Why You Should Go

When you hit paradise, you've got a zippy 40 minutes to the resort. Bubbly is on deck.

Duty-free shopping dates back to 1724 - lots of galleries, boutiques and unique shops.

Spend a day at Lindquist beach - not overcrowded, crystal clear water, but bring towels & snacks.

Mahogany Run Golf Course is an 18-hole stunner that runs along the sweet Caribbean.

The resort has a shuttle that will take you to and from the beach. Hop on.

Pack some water shoes for the beach - always better to be covered than step on a rock.
